    Thank you for showing me how to do this. I have those chair leg tips and have re-purposed them for similar tings before. I just need to see that screw and know the size. I will buy that tool and take my time. This will make the interior a bit more quieter. Thanks again.

    Why are you using DOT4? And not OEM's recommend DOT3 Brake Fluid?

    • @billfraught
      @billfraught  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Dave Fox In my owners manual, page 272, it says DOT 4... Maybe because it is a GT Premium with the bigger brakes... plus the cap says DOT 4 on my Mustang... I think the only difference between DOT 3 and DOT 4 is that DOT 4 has a higher propensity to dissipate heat. Thanks for the Question. Grandpa Bill, Austin, Tx.

    You don't have to remove the nut. If you just pull on the pipe, the loop around that screw just breaks. I took a broom handle and some duct tape and stuck that rubber plug to the end of the broom handle and pushed it right in.

    in the sound tube did you see any sponges that cause it to baffle the sound, I want to keep my 5.0 stock and I would like to get more noise in my cabin.

    • @billfraught
      @billfraught  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hellas Yes. There is a baffle at the firewall and I believe there is another baffle in the
      Sound tube by the large round connection midway on the tube. If you remove
      Those two baffles, you should get more sound into the cabin
      Good luck. Happy Thanksgiving. Grandpa Bill,

    • @billfraught
      @billfraught  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hellas BUT you may not want to remove all the baffles because they are also used to
      Stop gasses and smells from coming back flowing from the intake back into the cabin,
      So be aware of that. Bill

    Hey Bill I noticed you've got the beautiful red UPR cover caps. I thought they only have them for 2014's and previous years. Do they have them out for 2015 gt's now? And if so, where'd you get 'em? Thank's!

    • @billfraught
      @billfraught  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mbutta7 I made a TH-cam video for some of my friends and showed them how to retrofit the 2014 Caps unto a 2015 Mustang.
      Here is the Link.....th-cam.com/video/Np_Wx5iX63o/w-d-xo.html
      I got them from UPR... but I think CJ's has them. I have not checked if they are making them for 2015...
      Hope this helps you. Grandpa Bill, Austin, Tx.

    Ive got the brace for the strut tower brace. I know that will make it more difficult to get that nut off, but can it be done?
    OR, can that 10mm nut be gotten too from UNDER the car? Maybe I can do this when I change the oil.

    • @billfraught
      @billfraught  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Tim. Well I don't know if you can get to it from underneath the car. With that stud brace in the way at the top of your engine, you
      Are going to need. 1. A girlfriend who is a pole dancer and is very flexible, 2. A six year old who has skinny arms and can handle a wrench,
      Or 3. Remove the brace. I don't think removing the brace is that big of a job ( 4 bolts) but if you can't get it from the bottom, that may be your
      Only option. Goof luck to you and thanks for watching my videos. Grandpa Bill.

    • @timothyhanson2864
      @timothyhanson2864 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well i got it out last night...no tools...loosened everything up...gave the tube a twist and lift...came right out...didnt even break the plastic tab on the tube where the bolt was....came out clean...just waiting on the Blowfish kit now....

      +x3onx0x00 Yep that always help, but for me it slows me down to the point where I end up
      taking a nap UNDER my Mustang, which results in my wife coming into the garage
      and screaming , "Are you Fucking crazy!! How many times do I have to tell you to NOT
      Take a nap under the Car!! "". LOL. Grandpa. Bill

      In older Mustangs one could remove a couple of "earplugs" in the sound tube system... is this possible in the '15?

    • @billfraught
      @billfraught  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mycroft Holmes There is foam rubber inserts in the large circular part on the sound tube you could remove,
      But that would make it louder. We want to remove the whole tube and plug the holes to make the cabin quite

    Dang. Should have pulled the sound tube out before I installed the firewall and strut tower brace. Looks like you've got miles of room to reach that nut.

  • @MrBrownbear46
    @MrBrownbear46 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Bill,THX so much for your video. I got the nut off the bolt that sticks out from the firewall, and it took me 2 1/2 hours to get it out of there due to arthritis I have in my left wrist area because you cannot do it with your right hand. I had to take lots of breaks. Anyway, THX for the 10mm swivel ratchet wrench idea. It has to be a swivel or I don't see how you could get it out of there. I left the sound tube hooked up with the 2 fasteners (by the wheel well & strut tower)for I'm waiting for the delete kit from Blowfish. Question: are the 2 fasteners the only things that hold the sound tube in there for it still feels really hooked up solid??? I do think Blowfish now makes their delete kit for the 2015 for that's what the description said on their site. I'll let you know. Thanks again Gpa Bill from Austin, TX,Gpa Dennis from St Louis, MO

    • @billfraught
      @billfraught  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dennis H Sorry it took me so long to reply... Yes , I believe those two fasteners,, plus the screw by the firewall, and the clip by the intake are the only things holding it on. Good luck, and tell me if you were successful. Please subscribe, and link my video ... Also thanks for your service...

    • @MrBrownbear46
      @MrBrownbear46 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bill Fraught Well, the sound tube comes off today. I have the 2015 Blowfish delete kit. I have my much younger son in law coming over to install the rubber plug. I woke up the next day with total arthritis pain from fighting/removing that nygard nut, so I asked my son in law to come and help me install the rubber plug. I have to go to an auto parts store to get the Permatex gasket material but it should happen today. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thx again.

    • @MrBrownbear46
      @MrBrownbear46 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dennis H Bill, the 2015 kit has an 1 1/8" plug for the air cleaner tube. FYI. Got it off pretty easy after the nut just like you said. Now that it's off, it does sound better to me as well.

    I seen that the 2015 GT has few more hoses on the motor vs my 2014. Also I took off that crappy sound tube that's just cluttering the engine bay up.

    Does anyone know how to take off the fuses that go with the battery terminals in the battery junction box????

  • @jimhiggins5307
    @jimhiggins5307 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    why not just pull the tube off at the engine side, plug the hole and re attach the tube??

    • @billfraught
      @billfraught  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jim Higgins Well if you like looking at an ugly non functioning piece of plastic that blocks the line of
      sight to some pretty valve covers or any other modifications that you have done, then you can leave it on.
      But most people want it off and out of the way to show off their engines. Thanks for the idea.

      I have looking to see a post like yours because I was thinking the same thing. Also, why not remove as much of the down tube as you can and plug it right there? Who is going to notice that little thingy poking up behind the motor? And to hell with the 10mm stud everyone's fighting with! Thanks Jim!

    I was told by dealer any mod of anything from air filter to the cats voids warrantee even sound tube and CAI. anything behind cats is ok. just saying.....

    • @billfraught
      @billfraught  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +FLNative1 Well that is not a very good dealer, but if you should have to go to the dealer for warranty service, then I suggest you just temporally put it back on, go get the service done, then snap it off again... Remember, there is always more then one way to skin a cat!.... and most dealers will skin you alive when they can... Grandpa Bill.

    • @SARDOG
      @SARDOG 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I talked to my Service Manager about a VPN Tune and CAI... he said they have many Mustangs that are modified and, yes, a tune and CAI will "technically" void the powertrain warranty but he said just keep the CAI, since it doesn't NEED a tune, and put the tune back to stock before coming in. He said they've never seen an issue with a proper tune via VPN, Bama etc... they're actually running into Mustangs having auto transmission issues with the Ford Performance and Rousch tunes... go figure. So, issues like this are dealership dependent and you should check w other dealerships in your area.

  • @joshf4572
    @joshf4572 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I guess I don't really see the point on removing the tube....it doesn't really add anything to the car nor does it take anything away from it if you remove it....zero performance benefits by leaving it on and zero benefits by taking it off...just seems like way 2 much trouble for what its worth....just my opinion though....

    • @billfraught
      @billfraught  9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hey Josh, Yep u are right about performance issues, but aesthetically, it improves the engine bay, especially if you have painted coil covers. Also, it removes unwanted drone from the cabin, which for me, allowed me to listen to the sweet sound of my Ford Racing Borla exhaust. But from a performance issue, you are absolutely right
      Thanks for posting and watching
