Begin with this yes the document established the inalienable rights of men. Meaning human beings but here is the rub the black man in America was not even considered a full human being but three quarters human therefore not eligible for the rights articulated in the document no different than the American Indian who was denied his rights on the basis of a slick legal loophole. You see the Indian lost the rights to his OWN LAND indeed country because they did not file a legal tender establishing there ownership so the land unsullied by the white race complete Indian or indigenous in every way shape or form was legally taken away by the thieves who took it by writ of the law written and legislated by criminals
Writhing concerning Quran in a show of desperation and futility does not erase your reality . Don't forget the anti-slavery paragraph to the Declaration of Independence that Jefferson had to remove. He also ended the extortion and slavery on the high seas of the Barbary Pirates.
FYI: The same speach you quoting Yasir Qadhi from, he actualy says the Quran is preserved. Nevertheless, it is correct to say that that the standard narratives have holes in them. The variant readings are based upon narratives found in Hadith corpus but not by the Quran to begin with. This may be or may not be problematic for some Muslims ie. most traditionalist Sunnis. However, the concept of variant readings has never had (Muslim) consensus thoughout history till date. The Qiraat al 'aam/ the reading of masses, is not only perpetual from generation to generation but has consensus from the time of the Prophet's [final] reading. All denominations agree upon this [the same can not be said for the variant readings]. *It is this living practice ie reading of the masses, that supersedes any manuscript or codex.*
Unfortunately, these corrections are in relatively late manuscripts. 1. Brubaker shows that in Marcel 8, in Surah 7:160, there is a correction as shown in the 1st image. However, the standard phrase without correction is yet again found in many earlier manuscripts such as Arabe 328a (7th c. Needless to say, the other 2-3 examples are also found perfectly fine in earlier manuscripts. If Brubaker is trying to prove there was fluidity/ flexibility in the early Qur'anic manuscripts, why does he rely on manuscripts that are later than our earliest ones? None of these prove the Qur'an isn't preserved at all. It is ridiculous to think scribes cannot make mistakes, and these corrections appear mainly in later MS. It’s saddening to see that the comment section is so antagonistic to Muslims. I’m a Muslim and these videos barely challenge my faith. I’m fascinated by Dr. Brubaker’s work. If anything, he enriches and deepens my understanding of the Quran. I think it uncovers much of what has remained intact with the Quran’s universal message for so many centuries. Not all Muslims are so fragile that variations of certain phrases in early manuscripts turn their world upside down.
Lorenzo Chimelis islam is a cult n a man made religion. Quran has been updated many times. There are now 37 different qurans with over 90000 variations. How can an all knowing allah make such ridiculous changes?
There are 37 versions of the Quran according to the David Wood channel. These are NOT just 37 different translations of the same thing but actual different versions.

Good question. I have carried a UV light with me on research trips, and used from time to time on some manuscripts - only when I felt I needed to discern better what lay under an erasure, for example. My ability to do so varies by institution; some are more comfortable with this than others. But, in reality, I have not used it much. Thanks for asking. DB

Continuing the list of absurd lies: 2. God the Word became a man and left his disciples behind on earth to make the Vatican the Church and the Roman Pontiff the head of his body, the Church. 3. God the Word became a man and went back to heaven to leave behind the Bible, which is the actual Word of God, for everyone to interpret as they see fit, and have their own private relationship with God, and start their own churches as they see fit. 4. Because the human mind can contemplate God, it can grasp the divine essence, which implies that God does not exist beyond the human mind. You see the Truth that all these lies deny is that: God the Word became a man in order to make humans like God the Father, who is love, through his body, the true conciliar Apostolic Church, by the divine power of God the Holy Spirit. The nations of Goths, Arabs and Turks have been gathered against Christ and his Church to kill him and steal his inheritance. Not an Arab speaker but you don't have to be to see the numerous corrections to the earliest Quran manuscripts done in order to align them with the Hafs version of today ... but presumably not aligning them with Warsh, used in N Africa predominantly? Or with the other qira'at ... the versions from the 10 accepted readers, the versions of the 20 transmitters, of which Hafs and Warsh are two of them? Fascinating video. Perfectly preserved ... clearly not. Even Shabir Ali has admitted that men have altered the unalterable words of Allah, changing certain words to "synonyms" to better understand the perfectly clear Quran, for instance. Our Word is Jesus and his message has been perfectly preserved in the Bible even though we do not claim like the Muslims, that the Bible itself is miraculously preserved. There are copying errors and we have Bibles that list them. They are not hidden or burned or sunk to the bottom of the Nile. And we have so many manuscripts to examine, over 20 thousand. Not just 6.

Do you perhaps have or can you perhaps extrapolate the difference in time between these corrections? Could it be that the changes are proofreading fixes? The scribe wrote it down, then went back and reread it and fixed his own errors?
Let add about Jefferson. he was against slavery-he inherited slaves from his brother hen he died. Jefferson sought to free them but VA law prohibited releasing slaves before ones death. So Jefferson PAID those who were with him and then freeing them upon his death.

I sincerely enjoy your videos and your willingness to share your knowledge about the Quran. Something to consider regarding unalienable rights is that Jefferson would have come across the word inalienable several times do to his education and vast reading prowess. So why did he use the word unalienable? I believe he chose to use the word unalienable to have a higher meaning. As you point out, an inalienable right can't be taken away from you. I think that Jefferson intended to say that an unalienable right was an inalienable right in which the possessor himself could not give away that right: the right cannot be taken away from the individual nor can it be surrendered by the individual.
What do you mean corrected? Do you mean corrected as in it is something added much later or the scribe edited his work/was edited at the same time? Can you explain what you mean by this?

Dear Zoraida, thank you for the kind assessment of my work. In answer to your question, because I don't believe Muhammad was a prophet (if I did believe that, I would of course be a Muslim) the Quran holds no place of devotional significance for me, so I don't have an opinion about whether it needs to be reformed or remain as it is. A better person to ask this might be a Muslim academic you trust who is familiar with the scholarly research. Best to you, and thanks again, DB

"The rubbing from the pumice stone, combined with the passage of time, and possibly also the acidity of the ink, has caused the wearing through of this already delicate page throughout most of this line." 🤔 It was interesting to discover that pumice was used to make erasures of "errors/variants" of texts. Now there are a number of people who think that the word "Sijjeel" might actually be an allusion to pumice. And if you compare the descriptions of "mountains tuning to dust (56:5-6)" and other verses like it one will find that they line up with Pliny's description of volcanic pyroclastic flows nicely. Hence it seems fortuitous for Allah to be using the same material to obliterate evil-doers off the face of the earth (105:4). 😆 But it might also explain its use here: Sura 21:104 The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a *sheet (l-sijili)* for the records. As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. [That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it. Perhaps the word was adapted to allude to a parchment that has had everything (in the first creation) obliterated from it using pumice, ready for the writing for the "new creation."

For the moment, it is mostly a presentation of the fact of corrections existing, and giving a sense of their character and extent. Then, over time, we will talk more about analysis and substance -- what they mean in terms of history. A good question, thank you. DB
According to your own sources parts were lost, and they wrote it down to avoid losing more. Please critically think use some common sense, is your memory perfect? Umar was once looking for the text of a specific verse of the Qur’an he vaguely remembered. To his deep sorrow, he discovered that the only person who had any record of that verse had been killed in the battle of Yamama and that the verse was consequently lost. @@caos1925 i share my reading here, which make your point pointless...... In short, the Gospel writers are all anonymous. None of them gives us any concrete information about their identity. So when did they come to be known as Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John? I will argue they were not called by those names until near the end of the second Christian century, a hundred years or so after these books had been in circulation. That obviously matters if we are interested in knowing how closely they were connected to eyewitness testimony. P59. (Book: Jesus before gospel, by Bart Erhman)
Fascinating. What did they use to rub out the mistake when they made corrections. You can see it's been written over. I thought maybe it could have parchment that had been reused but there's obviously words that you can make out underneath the correction. Or should that be Qurantion ? LOL
@19:25 are you inferring that the scriber left an empty space and later someone inserted the word "lakum" . I would probably agree if the scriber was using a text editor and mistakenly hit the space bar later the word was inserted.😂😂🤣. All of what you showed us are speculations made by you. Can you prove that those corrections were made years later.
I don't usually make strong claims about how long after original production a correction was made. It is usually hard to say. Of course, if there were a big difference in script style (e.g. a D or E style in correction on a mā'il original manuscript) between main page and correction, then we might infer a longer passage of time. But I try to take care not to claim speculation to be fact. Hope that helps.

Is the implication here that since the Arabs weren't that educated and it was the Persians and other civilisations that produced much of the early Islamic scholarship, that for some reason, they replaced whatever Arabic word for provision was originally used in the Quran with the Farsi word Rizk?
It does not matter if words are corrected or not.. if we find variants or not..... The muslim claim is that the quran they have today is preserved and goes back to the prophet of islam....And this claim is 100% valide. "The Codex Amrensis 1 was among the examples that illustrate the existence of an ancient pattern of transmission whose characteristics closely resemble the Vulgate Qur’anic. The manuscript was probably produced in the first half of the 8th century by a professional copyist, although is small in size (which is related to its horizontal orientation) and bears evidence of an attempt to economize parchment". Cellard mentions that only 20% of the manuscript remains, although its construction indicates that it originally constituted a complete, possibly several-volume Qur’ān: "Among its important textual features is that the order of surates and verses conforms precisely to the order of the standard edition of the Qur’ān. The text is also identical, with the exception of several copyists’ errors (which are common in any handwritten text). There are a number of orthographical variations, particularly linked to notations of long vowels that are indicative of an older version in the in-progress Arabic writing system. But this manuscript was clearly already part of a pattern of highly controlled written transmission of the Qur’ān". Dr Eleonor Cellard
Yes, Rizq is Persian from Syriac. Were there any Persians or Syriac in Mecca? Surely not. Where then? Iraq which was ruled by Persians and inhabited by Arabs and Syriac. Arabs were (since ages) military auxiliaries of the Persians (vs the Romans), tax collectors, etc.

Dr Yasir Qadhi (islamic scolar: The standard narrative has HOLES in it !
He is talking about the preservation of the quran.
Here is another hole th-cam.com/video/jKL48UkMpi8/w-d-xo.html
However, there is no correction in many earlier manuscripts such as Arabe 328a (7th Century AD), Arabe 330g (1st Century AH) & others. Marcel 8 is not a 1st c. AH manuscript.
2. In Surah 29:17 of Marcel 5, Brubaker shows that the word "لكم" was added and there were erasures of letters. The words are found perfectly fine in earlier manuscripts such as Is. 1615 I, Or. 2165 (1st Century AH) & others.
3. He states that in MIA.2014.491, which I doubt is from the 1st century AH, the following correction occurs.

@@arabic7boy Carbon dating is not that reliable, but there are a few which C-14 puts older than the Sana'a Lower Text like Arabe 328c, Is. 1615 I or Ms Qaf 47 if Im not wrong. But I doubt these are older than the Lower Text tbh.

DB

You see the Truth that all these lies deny is that:
God the Word became a man in order to make humans like God the Father, who is love, through his body, the true conciliar Apostolic Church, by the divine power of God the Holy Spirit.
The nations of Goths, Arabs and Turks have been gathered against Christ and his Church to kill him and steal his inheritance.
They have ripped apart the Roman world after it became the Kingdom of Christ in Orthodox Christianity, and they will not repent because of pride and delusion, and worldly success.

Dr. Brubaker, where is the text that is used as the standard for all these corrections?
Something to consider regarding unalienable rights is that Jefferson would have come across the word inalienable several times do to his education and vast reading prowess. So why did he use the word unalienable? I believe he chose to use the word unalienable to have a higher meaning. As you point out, an inalienable right can't be taken away from you. I think that Jefferson intended to say that an unalienable right was an inalienable right in which the possessor himself could not give away that right: the right cannot be taken away from the individual nor can it be surrendered by the individual.

"The rubbing from the pumice stone, combined with the passage of time, and possibly also the acidity of the ink, has caused the wearing through of this already delicate page throughout most of this line."
🤔 It was interesting to discover that pumice was used to make erasures of "errors/variants" of texts. 😆
But it might also explain its use here:
Sura 21:104 The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a *sheet (l-sijili)* for the records. As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. [That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it.
Perhaps the word was adapted to allude to a parchment that has had everything (in the first creation) obliterated from it using pumice, ready for the writing for the "new creation."

The thing that gets me is that even with the "corrections" it's still a load of nonsense
And 1+1+1= 3 makes much more sense 😁
Ok , only if earlier apologists like ahmed deedat , adnaan Rashid didn't have claimed the so called "perfect preservation of quran" muslims would not have seen this day, it's still time muslims stop using this argument your religion can still survive till the day of resurrection.
It looks to me. That Allah did not
" provide" inerrant Quran perfectly preserved.
That's because it was compiled by this person th-cam.com/video/jKL48UkMpi8/w-d-xo.html
I've only studied hebrew and I'm shocked how similar they are. I can see the semitic familial relations with the 3ms oo ending and noo endings on 1cp.
Yes, it is true. The languages are much closer than they look at first glance. DB
Hey man, I'm wearing my blue Florida Gator hoodie!
Whats the point of these corrections? rather try to decipher the erased subtext (especially of the longer passages). changes to the rasm have already been conceded from islamic side. go forward.
Do you know who compiled it th-cam.com/video/jKL48UkMpi8/w-d-xo.html
yes Abdul malik and his gang hh
@Sema Kılıç no.
just a little information for you: there is no Mark 16:9-20 in the sinaiticus and vaticanus. Not a letter or a word.
The Qur'an is based on memorization, not text. This is what many people don't know. that's God's way of keeping His word
How... 😳
