Dan, a very kind response to an individual who has become increasingly dishonest and even threatening. You’re a patient person. It’s interesting that Qadhi claims to be generally likable, while also false-flagging channels and publicly threatening an owner of another channel. That makes his comment about not wanting to be two-faced, two-faced.

@Jason El Bourno upset maybe, but not in the way you think. If it wasn't for knowing about Yasir's, Mo Hijab's and your (if you are indeed Ali Dawah) threats against other people, I'm sure most of us would find you likeable enough and might even imagine enjoying a good laugh and bit of banter on subjects unrelated to Islam (maybe not so Ijaz and Farid as they're quite one-dimensional), so we do actually want see you and other muslims come to Christ, as the only way to your salvation. Dr Yasir Qadhi is not a native speaker of Arabic which he often boasts of. His native language is likely Urdu and his knowledge of Arabic may not be better than Dr Brubakers. From what I read about Dr Brubaker, apart from English and Spanish, he knows Greek, Arabic, German, Hebrew, Syriac, and French. Dr Brubaker's knowledge of Hebrew and Syriac in addition to Arabic, gives him a great deal of edge as a scholar of early Quranic manuscripts.

@Jason El Bourno ABDOOOOL Yasir Qadhi was born in the US, spent some time in Saudi and returned for to study Islam as well as an as an "associate degree in Arabic". His native languages are apparently Urdu, and perhaps Punjabi. That does not indicate that he is a native Arabic speaker. I only respect a scholar who knows Syriac and Hebrew in addition to Arabic like Dr Brubaker. Your "holes in the narrative scholar know neither ebrew nor Syriac.
By the way, why did you not call Rob Christian yesterday when he invited you for a discussion?

@@brothermagdi5637 Very true. Dr Brubaker knows and speaks 8 languages including Arabic, Syriac and Hebrew. Dr Qadhi is definitely no match to Dr Brubaker in this subject. It seems the Quran was translated from a Syriac original and a knowledge of Syriac, is important to fully grasp the context of the Quran. There are several words in the Quran which are puzzles to only Arabic speaking scholars but knowledge of Syriac definitely clarifies the original context of the script. Good luck on your quest!

    • @brothermagdi5637
      @brothermagdi5637 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@zanjabil1789 yes i agree to certain extent
however the Arabic itself evolved from Nabatean which in turn evolved from syriac
so the knowledge of Syriac is power tool to understand classic arabic quranic texts
for example in middle east the churchs in Egypt and Syria rarely used bible codex in liturgical services but instead they used portions of it in masses it's called in coptic Katameroc (according to days "reading of days") and in syriac qoriono which would clearify the meaning of word quran itself as "a reading"

The “you don’t know Arabic” argument is so stupid and suicidal. The vast majority of Muslims are from non Arabic backgrounds. So in order to understand Islam, which is supposedly the truth, you have to understand Arabic? Well that means all the Muslim translators of the Quran are a bunch of liars hiding the disgusting truth of Islam.
It’s actually the opposite, if you speak Arabic you can destroy Islam more easily, however it’s not necessary. Islam falls apart very quickly just by scratching the surface of what’s available in English (which is a tiny percentage of all the Islamic sources).

Wait, wait, wait. Dr. Brubaker does selective interviews and his material is used quite often by Christian apologists, so that means he is non-academic, theologically biased, and "repugnant". Examining the other side, there are various videos of Dr. Qadhi on youtube of him engaging in non-academic religious work (education for the layperson, religious instruction, etc.), he is interviewed by Muslim apologists (like Mohammed Hijab) for the benefit of common Muslims, and his works were (until the "holes in the narrative" gaffe) widely used by Muslim polemicists - but Qadhi is still academically pure and without theological biases? This is either some next level projection, or just pure, unbridled hypocrisy.

What kind of an academic deliberately misinforms his students ?
What kind of a course is he teaching that depends on his students not being aware of the truth ?
What other academic endeavour needs students to remain ignorant in order to pass a class ?
What kind of academic institution employs a tutor who deliberately ignored known facts because they contradict a narrative that he knows is untrue ?

What’s fascinating is that he’s already exposed his current knowledge is more than enough to destroy most Muslim’s faith in Islam, but if he goes any deeper he would destroy his own faith. You are likely aware but just in case , there is a history preceding Qahdi's recent fluff, where he was in an private email circle and he talked of his academic studies leading him to doubts, the mails were leaked by one of the members and that itself caused similar drama to what we are seeing today. His public backtrack from that was necessary obviously , his credibility with the Ummh is more important than his intellectual and academic honesty , but if this backtrack was sincere I have my doubts. Like today, his backtracks are an arse covering exercise , I doubt they are sincere.
He reminds me of pastors who have become atheists but given their livelihoods depend on their work , and their lack of skills to do any other work , they stay trapped in what amounts to a deceit.
Qahdi's tactics in defending himself are as formulaic as any low hanging Muslim fruit, denial of intellectual credibility in their interlocutor, dismissal by using ad hom of calling your interlocutor a bigot, and demeaning ridicule. it must be in a pamphlet every Muslim must get on how to react to criticism of Islam.

    • @pa21thebeast

@@tdsdave yeah I was aware of the email. It was leaked by Farid in 2016, by a Muslim apologists who ironically later asked Mohammed Hijab to ask Qadhi the question that created the fiasco, then the same Farid tried to refute Qadhi and get other people to destroy Qadhi.
As far as covering his arse, that pamphlet is the sharia. Everything he’s doing is guidance from the Sharia, including hiding things, threatening others, and refusing to interact with Christians. What Farid and other Muslims are doing is what happened in the 8th and 9th centuries. He was never an academic, his academic pursuits were just to feed his ego, now it’s coming back to bite him. His ego is too honest while his eman is secretive. Academia forces him to expose things that could expose Islam. I believe when he first started he thought he would be able to find evidence that supports the Islamic narrative, but as he kept digging, the hole was getting bigger so he had to take a step back and put on his Islamist hat. He realized if he didn’t dig others would dig, so the email in 2016 was a warning. In the email he said that the qiraats and Ahruf prove the fore founders (scholars) of Islam were not infallible, which if you understand sharia makes him an apostate, and is why people are calling him murtad. I’m confident he believes heavily in islam but is no longer in Islam.

If what you claiming is true bring anyone who entirely memorized any scripture except the QURAN. Jews, Christian, budist, hindusim, etc bring one person who memorized the whole book. If I did not have the level of competence in the Arabic language required for my work, I would have failed my doctoral defense. While total conversational fluency at the level of a native speaker is admirable and a wonderful thing for those who have the time and inclination to acquire it, it is completely unnecessary for this particular task. Different subjects require different concentrations and levels of competence in a wide number of areas. I happen to aspire to all kinds of knowledge that it would take many lifetimes to acquire, but my Arabic is fine for what I do. Rather, the fact that small details are raised by critics (many do not know Arabic themselves!) who cannot find any more substantive problem with my work suggests a certain desperation on their part.

@@variantquran4505 Dr Brubaker I welcome your perspective on the Qura. To be what is important is how objectivly we can get to the truth. As a Christian you have your biases as do I as a e. I am researching all the texts and the personalities in the Torah, New Testament and the Quran. There are shall we say weaknesses in all 3. In my opinion God whoever he might be is a poor communicator. I welcome your approach as well as a Christian, your calm demeanour and your scientific approach to the issue. As a Muslim it is difficult to listen to people like Jay Smith when he wanders from research to the polemics. He can be as bad as David Wood. I look forward to more research from you. Peace.

@@nasserhameed3828 Thank you. I believe it is important to consider that God has not (in my understanding) made people robots, even when it comes to the later transmission of authentic revelation. By analogy, if someone delivers a perfect speech and it is written down word for word but then copied wrong by someone else later on, the fault is not with the speaker. Christians have understood this for quite some time, and biblical textual criticism has generally focused upon finding what was first written. Best to you, and I appreciate the engagement. I am glad you appreciate my work and what you observe about me is what I intend to project to the world, so it is gratifying to hear that from you. This said, I also appreciate those who engage in apologetics or polemics (on any side of these questions or others), so long as they are honest. Even ridicule (if honest) can serve an important function. It is a different style of discussion than I have chosen, but I am a big advocate for robust and free speech, and I believe that it is healthy to protect it for everyone, even if it can be messy and makes some uncomfortable. Some of my academic colleagues disagree with me on this, but I think I am right. (!) Again, thanks.

You are revealing truth which means you hit a nerve. Don't let Yasir Qadhi try to take you on a deep dive. Then again, the last time Qadhi took a deep dive pushed on by Mini Hijab it was quite revealing.

I don't know how you managed to respond so calmly in the face of Yasir Qadhi's ad-hominems.
I particularly appreciated the way you explained "Islamophobia". Islam clearly needs protection and this is how it's done.
The truth need not fear any attack. It has withstood man's attempts to destroy it for 2000 years. We're all watching Islam to see how it survives the holes in the narrative.

After watching Dr Brubaker's comments a second time . WOW what a testimony for how a Christians response should be . *It's easy to hate the enemy Qadhi* But he needs our love . He's not the enemy . He's on his way to hitting the bottom . Many of us know what that's like . I know I do We need to Pray for Qadhi.

*Variant Quran* Dr Brubaker ,Dan What a Gracious Humble way of pointing out Islamic Claims are lies . Thanks for pointing out that being a follower of Jesus is about truth . Which is what Christianity is all about *TRUTH* I know from speaking to Muslims many of them don't understand how pointless Lying would be for one in Christ. They don't seem to get that for a Christian it's all about what is true . Keep up the great Work and explanations. Your Presentations are easy to follow and understand. Thanks for speaking to us and not past us. God Bless You and the Work you are doing. I'm sure many Muslims are seeing what's really True.

There was a woman named Amna bint Wahab she married Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalibtheu, they had a son called Qathem but there's a twist in this marriage.
Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib died and Qathem was born 4 years after his father's death.
Aminah was accused of adultery and the family never excepted Qathem.
The family say there was a man called waraqa he was having affair with Aminah because everywhere Qathem went waraqa was with him.
One day Qathem went missing everyone thought Qathem had been kidnapped they looked for him, they found him he was playing with waraqa...when waraqa died Muhammad tried to commit suicide.
They say waraqa got his sister to sleep with Abdullah so he wouldn't have time to sleep with Aminah.
Sadly Qathem mother died and he was shifted around by his family
At 24 he met and married khadija.
One day Qathem went into a cave he saw a man, the man squeezes Qathems hand 3 times and says read, 3 times Qathem said I cant read.
Qathem runs out of the cave crying shaking keeps running until he gets home and tells his wife khadija that he's seen the devil up in the cave, Qathem was hiding under a blanket shaking with fear, khadija asks what as happened?
Qathem couldn't stop crying and shaking shouting IT WAS THE DEVIL, i have seen the devil in the the cave! khadija took Qathem to a relative called waraqa and it was he who said it was gabriel not the devil...khadija and waraqa persuaded Qathem that its was gabriel and he is a prophet.
Was Qathem right? was it the devil? After all satan did put words in Muhammads mouth!
    Muhammad recited Surat-an-Najm from satan,
    chapter 53 of the qur'an.

Qadhi is desperately trying to deflect the mess he made for himself by lashing out at those he sees as most damaging to the narrative that the quran has been perfectly preserved and he thinks that by attacking you guys he might win back the respect he lost from his Ummah.

Daniel, you are a gentleman, well done. Rest assured lots of people appreciate your scholarly abilities, a scholarly quest undertaken in a veritable minefield, as is proven by such exchanges - de facto. Keep up your great work, please. The Truth often hurts, nonetheless the Truth remains the Truth and in all too many instances, it gains the person pursuing it, or attempting to pursue it grotesque levels of animosity. Thank you Daniel.

I'm enjoying your channel, Daniel. Manuscripts are not something I have studied deeply and so I find your observations fascinating and very informative. Yasir Qadhi is a scholar I have respected for some time and it's a shame he has decided to indulge in ad hominem. As I myself know well, the topic of religion stirs a great deal of emotions and can make rational people behave irrationally. It's impossible to analyse texts people hold sacred without upsetting someone. But that should not derail one from expressing one's thoughts and views. Best wishes.

Keep in mind that Yasir Qahi comes from Pakistan which literaly means 'Land of Pure' - Yes, they did purify the land from any culture they had and made the land a Home Base for Taliban, Alqueda, JeM, JeT......
