      MilkyWayToHeaven No shit. The entire point in my statement [that MOST people would comprehend] was how down to earth/"real" Henry is. Your sanctimonious reply was beyond unnecessary.

      Down to earth? That "pay me" statement is the epitome of his new flashy cool and oblivious image. "Will you say what we write for you to say?" And he says "ya of course, just pay me... And I'll say whatever" That my friend, is a disgusting outlook on life and pretty much sums it up. Marketing "cool" and "hip" people to sell you some bogus ideology, or lack thereof. He can quote amendments to the Constitution! WOW a true intelligentsia

    Compared to old interviews from the 90s, it's amazing to see how much he has changed in interviews. He seems so much more relaxed and talkative. I have a humble admiration for him. My 2c, ... He always had a vision of what kind of person he wanted to be. But it's an uphill battle to turn into the best version of yourself.

      Joe Jones Well said but we don't all live under the same laws & rules. I wish everyone had respect for the U.S., the law, & Constitution. Henry's very right. The law is writen, now it should be followed. It pertains to all of us. People need to play by the rules that we all agreed on. If somebody doesn't like the rules, work to change them. If there's not enough like minded folks to enact change, deal w/ it or leave. Lots of super concervative countrys & super liberal countrys looking for citizens out there.

    Rollins has a thoughtful and meaningful approach to the conversation. Instead of anger and instigation he's using the power of words to shape things truly for the better. I lean Republican, but I can certainly appreciate the WAY he speaks about these programs, these problems, and it seems like if more thought leaders enter the arena of politics who are willing to work together things could get better, for everyone. I hope that he inspires a new generation, both left and right, to be better, do better, and strive to excel beyond the current Capital Hill politicians. AOC has a lot to learn from someone so tactful with words.

    After many hours witnessing Rollins's views and honest persona...I can just say WOW, what an amazing human being, his social awareness is stunning, with that comes his brutal honesty....Kindness where it's due and hate where it's due but before that he is a calm and calculated individual.
    Anything I witness with him talking is just a pure joy to see and hear. A beautiful human being.

    I’m not a fan of Pharrells music, but I met him in summer 2004 when I was with the scouts going from Dublin to Switzerland. I could just hear some excitement behind me and some of the girls were saying hi to him and getting his autograph, he was a perfectly nice guy, he spoke very kindly to all of them and got in some pictures and signed autographs.

    I remember the first time I heard a black flag record. I was about 11 years old. I did not like the music at all. But, something about it grabbed me. I continued to listen and it grew on me. Then I started to understand the lyrics. Punk grew on me. Before punk I listened to what ever my parents were listening to at the time. Black Flag took me out of the house to look around in the yard. I discovered so many sounds. What I absolutely love about Henry Rollins is that he does not put up some stupid fake front to influence an opinion out of you in regards to what he would want you to think of him. He does not act in any way that is not true to himself. he is very opinionated however he is intelligent enough to recognize other peoples opinions. That is my take on him. I would not care if he hated everything I liked. he is true and true to himself. So, what you get from Henry is Henry! : )

Instead of like most adults, after giving their 2 cents eyes glaze over thinking of what they wanna say next, not vibing/reading the other person or letting their words & responses soak in.. a lot of ppl say what they would've anyway, regardless of response - basically dual simultaneous monologues in effect..

      He has changed from the anti-establishment icon he was in the early '80s. Now, he is just a puppet for the very thing he claimed to despise.

    • @natekudlich6142
      @natekudlich6142 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      rich short I think that instead of staying in the narrow lane that anti-establishment follows he simply accepted that with the right people in power, more good can come around than from always saying fuck the man. At least he's got solutions that make sense to 90% of population. How is supporting marriage equality for all being a puppet for the man? How is saying education is the key to moving society forward? How is saying war will soon be a thing of the past? How can you look at any of the things he says and find any issue? You want people to not be able to be with someone they love? Why? You don't want people to be educated? Why? You want to go to war? Why? I might be totally far off in my logic and if I am let's talk.

    • @richshort5659
      @richshort5659 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nate Kudlich
      There will never BE "the right people" in power. They are ALL puppets for big business/corporations. Where did you get the idea that "90%" of the population thinks he makes sense? Pulled it out of the air apparently because there are less far lefties in this country than right-thinkers. I am not a Republican or a Democrat, as I believe they are two heads of one snake. I don't know how to put my feelings in a certain category such as Dem., or Repub. I don't CARE what two grown men do in their bedrooms, but I do care if they want to marry, because they will get the spousal benefits that come with true marriage,i.e.,a man and a woman. If you,and I won't say "choose" to be gay(because I do not believe it is a choice, people are born this way), that is A-OK, there is no reason to have special treatment. As far as the "education" he is referring to, it is code for "inner-city programs" that do nothing but waste taxes,on people who do NOT want to be educated, or work, the same shit that has been going on for YEARS (look at Baltimore), and NOTHING changes. The politicians pocket the cash, especially in any city where BLACK politicians are in charge. Go look at how Detroit is doing, and you will see my point if you take off your politically-correct, rose colored glasses, and lose the white-guilt.

      I think what helped me overcome my pessimism with this was a Michio Kaku interview I saw a while ago, where he said it's better to look at change in 10 year intervals, because frankly that's about the time it takes for big change to become noticeable. That's not even a paraphrase at that point; I don't remember what he said, but I do know he mentioned to look at every 10 years vs every year, and our change and growth as a country becomes that much more noticeable.
