I'm a new believer from Turkey. I've just baptized today with my own will in a protestant church. Thanks a lot for the clarification. The timing wouldn't be any better than this. 😊
I was asked by my brother in law last year if I would baptize him, because he wanted to be. He proclaims salvation, and the church was dragging their feet on getting the man baptized. Having been born again 14 years ago myself I felt comfortable doing this. I’m not an ordained minister, but I am a son of God. He was baptized in a swimming pool, and it was witnessed by maybe 8-10 people. Thank you sir for clarifying Acts 2:38. I believe your simple explanation will help many people understand this misunderstood scripture.👍🏻
I’ve been having this guy from a Baptist church say I’m not right with the Lord and I don’t have the Holy Ghost because I never gotten baptised straight away after I repentant. I am a born again believer who was delivered. This video has just came on the right time. I believe God literally used you to speak about this to get to me. There could have been 1000s of different bible topics but I needed this one right now. Thank you sir.
Not sure where you stand on the matter, but I will say this for anyone that will read it: "...But he that believes will not be condemned" which is the ESV I know, but they communicate the same message. Does it say, "He who does not believe AND BE BAPTIZED will not be condemned." No, it just says whoever doesn't believe will be condemned. So, then what if someone gets baptized but doesn't believe? Is that individual saved? No, that theme is clear throughout the scriptures. So, if baptism alone can't save you, it can't be the thing that saves you. As Dwayne pointed out, baptism is the first step of obedience. If I say, "Oh I believe in Jesus, but this whole baptism thing that he told me to do, I don't actually have to do that." I am actively not believing in Jesus since he told me that is what I need to do. Just like if he says, "Don't look at a woman with lust." and I keep staring at women with lustful intent and say, "Oh I don't actually have to do that." I am not believing or trusting him. I understand the misconception, and I hope this helps you to see that baptism will not save you or anyone else. Belief in Jesus as the propitiation for our sins, and repentance (confess and turn away from sin) is the only way we can be forgiven and be cleansed from all unrighteousness. This theme is seen in 1 John. This is great news for us because it takes all of the work off of us. Jesus says his yoke is easy his burden is light. We don't have to carry the weight around of needing to do anything for our salvation, he paid the full price already! Our response should be humble obedience to our Lord because of what HE did and if we aren't willing to be baptized and humbly obey the Lord's commands are we really believing in him at all?
Thank you for this channel. I was sprinkled as a baby. When I became born again at age 52, I joined a local Baptist church mainly to get baptized for the right reasons. Thank you for explaining who can do baptisms.
Here's a look at Acts 2:38 from the Wuest Translation, "And Peter said to them, Have a change of mind, that change of mind being accompanied by abhorrence of and sorrow for your deed, and let each one of you be baptized upon the ground of your confession of belief in the sum total of all that Jesus Christ is in His glorious Person, this baptismal testimony being in relation to the fact that your sins have been put away, and you shall receive the gratuitous gift of the Holy Spirit." Kenneth Wuest was a Greek scholar who composed an excellent, literal translation of the N.T. I greatly appreciate your obedience to the Lord with this channel!
I was born again and badtized many years ago but never followed through with my studies. To this day i feel like a empty vessel. Maybe at the time i felt Gods presence and have since but now i just feel like a lost soul. I appreciate all your teachings.
I got baptized on 6/30/24 here in Germany in my Baptist church with full emersion in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost - and they make it clear, that every believer could baptize you. Maybe the churches differ between the continents? I considered myself a Christian for the last half year and it was a honor for me to make a public statement for my Lord and Savior. My family came to town and even my 82-year old grandmother visited - despite most of them being let’s say skeptical of Christianity. My interpretation was: it is not the preposition for salvation, but I always saw it as the natural progression if you are honest and true with your intentions and your motives. Thank your for this video and your channel, good sir. May God bless all of you!
Acts 16:31 "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved. You and your household" I so appreciate your simple understanding of the gospel. I am so tired of seeing people try to overcomplicate it and get lost in theology, it is driving people away from Christ daily. The message of the gospel is so simple a child could understand it, but due to lack of faith people think they must jump through an endless amount of hoops to "Earn" their way to heaven. Matthew 18:3 "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of God"

I must admit, I am unclear as to what you mean when you say that you cannot get baptized because you are a Christian convert and your situation doesn’t allow it.
@@TackRoomBibleTalk Sure thing. I forgot to mention this but I come from a Muslim family. Not devout, but still Muslim. I happened to find Christ in the worst time of my life, by simply getting on my needs in my room alone and praying to Jesus. I will never forget the feeling of all my worries, fears and burdens being lifted from my shoulders and the pure joy that followed. I am a uni student, 19, male and live at home. Though I can imagine a 19 year old gets lots of freedom in America and Christian families, this is sadly not true for Muslims. I need to have an excuse to leave the house to go to church, which is not always available but has been getting better recently. But if I get baptised, and full dunk, then I'll have to return home wet or at least with wet clothes 😂. It also doesn't help that the church that I go to makes a baptism in front of lots of people and on video. 😅 But I'm hoping that at some point, whether in university or after, I'll be able to get baptised without anyone on my back. P.S. You really lifted my heart when you replied. I know you are a busy man and I am absolutely honoured to speak with you. Christ be with you 🏆❤. P.S. P.S. I want to thank you for sharing your wisdom, realism, honesty, good heart, strength and love for God and Christ to us all. Other than the Heavenly father, you are the closest thing I get to a father figure in my life. If I type any more I'll cry like a baby, so may God bless you and your family with a fruitful, wonderful, joyful and long and lovely life. Amen.
Dewayne, this Bible study was AWESOME!!! Thank you for your time and for explaining things in a way that makes it all click. Hope you have a blessed day!
Thank you for the video, Dewayne. I recently studied baptism with my pastor and was baptised 2 Sundays ago. We had a very similar discussion to this one and he even used the same wedding ring analogy..
I was alone when I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior on February 16th, 1997 [I cried out the name of Jesus in desperation, acknowledging Him... He came through in a mighty, miraculous way in which no one else would or could]... shortly afterwards, I was led to 'Jesus Is The Answer Ministries', a city outreach center and motorcycle ministry founded in Lowell, MA by Russ Kulisich and his wife Kathy. I am beyond grateful for Reverend Russell and his wife Kathryne [both raised Catholic as I was] who took me in and taught me how to read the Bible and grow in Christ through a personal relationship with Him, Jesus. I was baptized in the lake behind their home in Tyngsboro, MA in the spring of 1998 (when the lake was thawed from winter, but still cold!)... 🤍
I have a really important topic I need you to do a study on as soon as you can. Anger. Strife. Fighting in families when the father or man in the family is constantly putting people down and being critical.
I know this isn’t perfect but this is my church. This is where I go for spiritual food and for correction. You make so much sense and get me to reflect on my attitude and my actions. Thank you sir! very much!
I like your interpretation, and to seek out not to just follow with out seeking out what has been explained , that you are trying to guide to the truth and then for those to read and test it to be true . Thank you. I can only speak for my self , one opens ones soul and except god and he enters and become part and the journey and relationships begins that take the rest of one life and we never deserved but are blessed to receive.
Dewine, I completely believe the wey you explained this. I never thought about it in that depth. But I praise the Lord that he revealed it to me in that wey.
Well said brother !! It all goes to what I say quite often … it’s the K.I.S.S. method … Keep It Simple Stupid. We all try to make Salvation complicated. It is amazing how many people when asked who saved them will give you the preacher’s name. The Lord is greatly using you !! Thanks for your content and the new channel.
The Biblical word we translate as baptism comes from the word that describes what happens to a ship that gets a big hole in it. It goes down under the ocean. The symbolism is of the individual dying to self and being buried, and then being raised as a new person in Jesus Christ. You are correct; baptism is a response to being saved. Thanks, Dewayne, for the plain simple truth of Scripture.
I thought if there was one thing I was confident I understood in the faith was baptism it turns out I didn't know squat. I have a long way to go in my faith journey but finally feel I'm on the right path. Thanks for your teachings Dewayne, you have a gift.
You just answered my question without me needing to ask the question. A question I've been seeking and well I'll just use your words. I got wet. Thank you Dewayne. I can't answer why I or how I really found your channel but I am truly glad I did. Thank you again Dewayne.
Thank you for these videos Dewayne. The assembly I attend is a non-denominational and they preach the same truths you have been discussing on this channel. I don’t want to stop attending, but they open the service with a “worship” that just feels like a Christian concert. How can we as believers worship outside of the church? God bless you and your family.
People, don’t understand that being baptized is asking Jesus Christ, to come into our soul, and we’re willing to follow Jesus Christ, wholeheartedly. Getting baptized without excepting Jesus Christ, wholeheartedly they aren’t born again and they aren’t saved. God, bless you Sir and your family. Thank you for sharing.
Dwayne, your interpretations and teachings remind me of Phil Robertson and his family and their teachings. They have a great podcast called Unashamed which is a Bible study. Thanks for the content.
Phil Robertson knows (and teaches) that baptism is required for salvation and is the point at which a person receives salvation. Phil would argue this with Dewayne all day.
I was raised in the Baptist church. I took the baptism class they had at the age of 5 or.6 and after careful discussions with the minister and my mom, the minister felt I fully understood what becoming a born again Christian meant. I lstopped going to church (different Baptist.churcjh) when I was 16 as I was tired of their politics and favoritism for those more financially affluent. I have never stopped.believing. and know that Christ has blessed my family and.myself in so.many ways, so many incidents seem unfathomable in His grace. What I am wondering is.should I be baptized again?.I am almost 59. I have been a poor example.of being a.Christian many times.in my life.but He has always been there for me.
I think this helped me to somewhat understand the conflict we are experiencing. I'm not perfect ,I believe in Christ Jesus and will not sway. Lacking is evils involvement, projecting, not from lack of trying. Not blaming ,just is what it is.?.
Thank you for sharing Dwayne. 👇 Baptism comes after putting your faith & trust in the Lord God Jesus Christ. Where I live the LDS church baptised children at the age of 8 & an 8 yr old hasn't even been born again but the LDS church believes that baptism saves them & baptises them into their cult/church. It's crazy how these people do religion & not relationship it's so sad to see this.
This comment is intended to offer Encouragement to the ENCOURAGER. You are a wonderful Vessel for The Lord. It brings Me Joy to observe how the Holy Spirit places His thoughts into Your mind. Timothy
You can find in very early Christian writings, as early as the 1st century, that concessions were made for desert communities or other remote places that might have only had a well and where full immersion was simply not possible, that they may pour water water three times over the head for baptism. But somehow, over the years, for whatever reason, that has become the standard for some and not a last resort.
The word for in this passage come from the Greek word eis. Which is describing in this context Transliteration: eis Pronunciation: ice Part of Speech: preposition Root Word (Etymology): A primary preposition TDNT Reference: 2:420,211 Outline of Biblical Usage: into, unto, to, towards, for, among I would say that it is easy to be understood that the word for is saying that this is for something not a entire twisting of the scripture to describe that remission of sins have already been received. The scripture doesn’t say you get baptized because you have received the remission of sins. You were getting baptized for the remission of sins. The way you receive remission of sins is by getting baptized that’s how the scripture describes it. You get buried in baptism, that is how you are washed from your sins. That is how the old world was cleansed from sin in the flood with Noah, first, Peter, chapter 3 verses 20 to 21 even shows us that baptism also now does save us just how the very few in the arch were saved by water. And does this mean your fate is sealed in salvation when you’re baptized? no. Once saved always saved us another life. Baptism saves you from being under the law, from being under the law of sin and death, but it is the faithful who abide in the Lord and who bear fruit that will not be cut down and cast into the fire. So I asked that we can conversation about this, I hope that you were open to discussing the scripture on this matter. But I do not think it is wise to teach such a bold thing pertaining to the doctrine of Jesus Christ in a way that twists and teachers away the fundamental doctrine of baptism.
Love the example!! Repentance refers to turning away from the fleshly beastly nature!! Love fulfills the law for love doeth no wrong! Baptizing is an outward confessing of change. Matthew 3:11 “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:”

But I'm hoping that at some point, whether in university or after, I'll be able to get baptised without anyone on my back.

Love the clarity here 😊
Youre the man Dewayne and a true brother in Christ keep going
Please keep bringing these teachings. Your knowledge and wisdom is a blessing to me. Thank you.
Thanks for making the sacred text simple to understand and for the words of wisdom and knowledge blessings to all
Wow, thanks for this clear explanation. And you also got me thinking about babies. Thank you for your time and education. Be blessed.
Thank you for the video, Dewayne. I recently studied baptism with my pastor and was baptised 2 Sundays ago. We had a very similar discussion to this one and he even used the same wedding ring analogy..
Straight up! Great delivery!
Thank you, that puts into a better perspective a question I have been studying on for a while now!
Dwayne, thanks for the simple Bible teaching. Just a simple "Old Lady" from North Texas enjoying the Word. Never to Old to Learn. God Bless
Thank you for preaching truth! Amen!
Well done! Thank you Dewayne for bringing simple truth to a lot of very confused people. He who has ears to hear let him hear.....
Thank you sir for obeying and fearing God!
Thank you for sharing gods word and his teachings
I have a really important topic I need you to do a study on as soon as you can. Anger. Strife. Fighting in families when the father or man in the family is constantly putting people down and being critical.
Amen! A great explanation straight from the word of God
Thank you, sir for obeying and fearing God!
I know this isn’t perfect but this is my church. This is where I go for spiritual food and for correction. You make so much sense and get me to reflect on my attitude and my actions. Thank you sir! very much!
Amen brother!❤
I like your interpretation, and to seek out not to just follow with out seeking out what has been explained , that you are trying to guide to the truth and then for those to read and test it to be true . Thank you. I can only speak for my self , one opens ones soul and except god and he enters and become part and the journey and relationships begins that take the rest of one life and we never deserved but are blessed to receive.
Thank you, Dewayne; your thought on original sin is very interesting. 🙏
👍🏻 thank. I appreciate your talk!
Amen! Be baptized because you have heard & believe the gospel. Be baptized because you have received forgiveness & want to follow Jesus.
Thank you!!! GOD bless you & Momma!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🕊️🕊️🕊️❤️❤️❤️
I thought if there was one thing I was confident I understood in the faith was baptism it turns out I didn't know squat. I have a long way to go in my faith journey but finally feel I'm on the right path. Thanks for your teachings Dewayne, you have a gift.
I Learned So Much, Thank You For The Truth
Most excellent teaching Sir, Be Blessed
Love the down to earth approach of it all
Thank you Dwayne 👍👍😊
Thank you for sharing the truth
Thank you sir for your wisdom.
Thank you for that teaching
One of the best explanation on water baptism
THAANK YOU!
Solid Word preacher!
Thank you D.
Thank you!
Thank you.
Thanks Dwayne
Dwayne, your interpretations and teachings remind me of Phil Robertson and his family and their teachings. They have a great podcast called Unashamed which is a Bible study. Thanks for the content.
Phil Robertson knows (and teaches) that baptism is required for salvation and is the point at which a person receives salvation. Phil would argue this with Dewayne all day.
You or saying what I have always believed in my heart
spot on my friend
Great explanation
Thank you
There is nothing you can do to earn your way to heaven. Jesus paid the price for all ❤
Would love an instructions on evangilizim video!
Sorry for the typos. Am on a.small tablet and have bad eyesight.

Baptism comes after putting your faith & trust in the Lord God Jesus Christ.
Timothy
This makes sense - I've been thinking about the criminal on the cross who Jesus said would be in paradise with Him - no baptism.
Yea, think on that one.
Which is describing in this context
Transliteration: eis
Pronunciation: ice
Part of Speech: preposition
Root Word (Etymology): A primary preposition
TDNT Reference: 2:420,211
Outline of Biblical Usage:
into, unto, to, towards, for, among
I would say that it is easy to be understood that the word for is saying that this is for something not a entire twisting of the scripture to describe that remission of sins have already been received.
Matthew 3:11
“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:”
Thank you Dwayne, very clear & understandable, you served over in Taliabu island papua nugini?
If & when you have opportunity, would love to hear more about your time there.
Circumcision in the OT=baptism in NT. I dont always agree with you but man do you make me think. Good stuff.
Dewayne, does, make you to think on things, and that is treasured characteristic, to me. And here, for many, myself included, he has us opening that book, more and more. Now that makes it all worth it, right there. It is, the Bread of Life.
