    This is the weekender for the modern couple I think. Have a watch and let me know if you agree?

      I agree. This style replaces the sports cruisers from a decade ago

    Well done, that was a really thorough review, thanks, I am thinking about one of these for my next boat, a real box ticker.

      Great! I hope it was useful 🙏… this is the modern replacement for a sports cruiser and it’s at the top end of the quality spectrum. If that’s what you are using it for you will be very happy.

    Great boat - pretty much all you need to have fun.
    We had the earlier incarnation (2002 - Nimbus Nova 26) and it was a stunning boat. 22kt cruise, easy to handle single handed, incredibly fuel efficient on a Volvo-Penta KAD44. But……. Why did we sell it??
    It had less weather protection than this one where the optional T-Top should be a standard fitment IMHO and… I couldn’t shut the heads door when I was sat on it! It was a Quasimodo crouch to use the heads in male mode, but for anything requiring sit down duties my 6’3” frame meant that the door would have cut me off at the knees. It had to go!
    I know everything is a compromise and that’s probably why I haven’t chosen to fly to your neck of the woods as long haul would be like being in Nimbus heads for 12 hours. Good to see that this incarnation is so much better in the space utilisation. Great review to boot 👍🏻👍🏻

      G'day Phil,
      This is such great feedback i'll share this with the Nimbus guys as it's information like this that helps in the design of new boats.
      Yes flying to Australia is a skill one needs to master because sitting in a seat for that long isn't always fun lol!
      Thanks for the feedback! Dan

      @@BoatLife_DansBoatLife cheers Dan, if they can get the interior space of our Swift Trawler 34 and squeeze a 20/22kt cruise out of it and still look good somebody somewhere is onto a winner.

    Thoughts on how well the cockpit berth would actually work, for sleeping 4 people? I can't find a photo or video of what it looks like anywhere on the internet...

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You mean converting the lounge on deck to another berth? I guess this would be ok for two kids for a night but my preference would be sleeping for 2. Alternatively book a hotel somewhere cool and take the boat there, i feel like that would be heaps of fun and then you get your fun days but comfortable nights.

    • @josephevetts9291
      @josephevetts9291 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Yes, thanks Dan. They advertise sleeping 2+2 on their website meaning the deck lounge is the +2. If it can work for kids that's great.

    any idea -- is getting twin outboards a possibility?

      Yes twins are an option. I've seen some examples in Sydney already

    If you are wondering - I know I was - how the boat accommodates cold'ish or wet weather, here is a very useful video shot in Minorca of a new W9. In some of the views, you'll see the almost invisible 'clears' that shield the cockpit area but don't detract from its appearance. (We rode out a stinker of a 3-day blow in that harbor and would have appreciated such an arrangement if on this boat). th-cam.com/video/0WUvWBmqmHs/w-d-xo.html

    1:03 In the subscription of the video? 😉 Knock it off, I'm already subscribed, no subtle hints necessary.
    Still hoping for a review of the Parker 850 Voyager when you're back down under. Same class as the W9, but so much cooler and sportier yet just as usable.

      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha i'm glad you are. I'm not sure if i know the Parker dealers yet so will have to work on that one. I do know the boats and have inspected them multiple times at Dusseldorf.

    Looking for a boat just like this that also considers fishing with inclusion of rod holders, fish box and live well. Any advice?

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not the euro styling but consider the Grady White Marlin 300 or something like that. If you want to stick with the Nimbus styling just go for the C9 and custom install the rod holders and live well etc. You'll have great deck access and weather protection
