A Lot of songs saying cry, and I am here indeed, I Saw nobody home, tought of why I did not tought of others while being "home" alone and I get angra y by writing do they have a song with angry as well
This album changed everything. I couldn't stop listening and loving every track. I later played drums and sang NEVER BEFORE in a band I was in. It was my favorite moment of the night.
Personally I prefer Led Zeppelin 1 and 2 over Led Zeppelin 4 just a tiny bit, and I prefer deep purple in rock their previous albums if I’m not mistaken. But I mean yeah all those albums you mentioned are bangers.
Jumpin' JAKE Flash "Never Before" is a song Deep Purple, which appears on their 6th studio album "Machine Head" (1972). It was released as the 1st single and reached number 35 in the UK. The promo video was made for the song in 1972. The single version of the song is an edit of the album version and lasts 3:30. The guitar riff in Peter Frampton’s "Do You Feel Like We Do", that appeared from his 2nd studio album "Frampton’s Camel" (1973), bears a strong resemblance to this song. "Never Before" has rarely been performed live. The only live recording of this song appears in "Deep Purple in Concert" (1980), which was recorded at the time of the single release, a week or so before "Machine Head" was released. Deep Purple performed "Never Before" on tour in 2004, when they played the whole 6th studio album "Machine Head" (1972). Ian Gillian - vocals Ritchie Blackmore - guitar Roger Glover - bass guitar Jon Lord - keyboards Ian Paice - drums
Was a single released in Australia on May 4th 1972, on their own PURPLE LABEL, but it sadly didn't make the top 40, got to number 62. But one of my favourites.
@Bat227 Purple was awesome. I love the Stones but no one kicked your ass live like Deep Purple. Mark ll has been considered the 5 most talented Rock Musician to ever Play together. Yes there were many great band's but Purple was heads above 99% of them.
Somebody somebody Come to my side I'm tired I'm crying I'm sick inside My woman that woman Just wasn't right Help me now, please my friend I never felt so bad before Never never before So funny so funny Just like a show One name two people All in a row Somebody somebody Someone must go Help me now, please my friend I never felt so bad before Never never before I was hurt when I was younger By a woman who was cold She took my name She took my body And she threw away my soul Can't hide I can't hide my misery I know my sorrow won't set me free She did it d'you see she did it to me Help me now please my friend I never felt so bad before Never never before
I 💕 them and soooo many songs grew up in the 60s and graduation was in 75 loved so many great bands and saw and supported so many great bands and memories and took my son to see alot of legends and he still loves the people I showed him and has taught me too lol lucu 🐺🦢🦋🌟🎷🎸🥁any music you love is an incredible inspiration thanks for all you do and have done 🥰
Footage is from crydon fairfield hall 1972, but is there a full footage of a full concert, or not... sure this would be a dream for a fan. Jon used his white hammond, he also used for the machine head record. Class purple
This and highway star are my favorite tunes on the epic album machinehead deep purple mark 2 greatest lineup of all time we studied the esplanade blasting this music for miles oh to be young again if you attended Pleasant Valley High in 1976 you had better of had this in your 8 track car stereo baby lol
Coulored Footage of this is from the Fairfield hall 1972... hope they release some more, it was used for the never before promotion... mention that lord used a white mobile hammond... also playing it in the machine head album, the are parts of child in time or space truckin... in the footage mentionble...early 72 show
I can't imagine why DP thought "Never Before" would be the single release. I can't predict a song that will be a hit, but think anyone alive at that time could make the right call on a song that would NOT be. And while it's a good song, this work wasn't ever going to be popular enough to be packaged and sold as a single.
"Smoke on the water" should have been named "Never before" since it was the only song on the album that they did not work on before going into the studio. 🙃 Great song though...!
"DEEP PURPLE"...! "Who Do We Think We Are"......! Shades OF........the Book OF..... "IN ROCK"....on fire w/FIREBALL... StormBringer.....! Come AND Taste....! Wow and Wowser!
You could very well be right. But, it's the music that sells which makes the radio. The publisher wants the money, radio wants market ratings. Rock was always under attack by commercial music, and was even completely dethroned by the crap called Disco ... the worse garbage to every assail my ears. Everything fell before the Disco God including Folk, before Disco itself became so bad that Rock returned. Then it was RAP, which is worse than disco.
That would explain his unfitting praise of that short section barely featuring him. I wonder why they but this bad clip in the album playlist. It is generally an evil trend to replace the proper tracks with bad video clips in album playlists.
I did too. The recorded version is superimposed over a DP live act. DP live would not have played it exactly like the record so dat s why u see de discrepancies between de video and de song.
Excellent song, but I hate these wallpaper videos of just a bunch of performance clips strung together. I want to see the band playing the song, not this crap.
Good song, stupid clip - to the extent of not showing the guitar player during the entire guitar solo (fitting that stupid German show called - believe it or not - "Disco"). And I don't get John Lord here, the half-tempo section is the only boring part of the song - and I mean ridiculously boring, only helped by being rather short. Or was he referring to a later, extended live version ("we continued to work on it")?
One of my favorites on this album nobody talks about
This is one of my favorite songs by Deep Purple 🎸🎤
Yes it's underrated
Lazy...
Because you are only man who ever even heard that song...very strange indeed
A Lot of songs saying cry, and I am here indeed, I Saw nobody home, tought of why I did not tought of others while being "home" alone and I get angra y by writing do they have a song with angry as well
Love this song. use to sing it walking to high school all those many years ago. Top song. Always loved Ian Gillan voice a true gentleman.

Personally I prefer Led Zeppelin 1 and 2 over Led Zeppelin 4 just a tiny bit, and I prefer deep purple in rock their previous albums if I’m not mistaken. But I mean yeah all those albums you mentioned are bangers.
Your missing Master Of Reality, which beats them all...
Jon Lord ; what a gent and an exemplary musician.
Played this on the jukebox in a bar in Newcastle one night the place was rocking. Every other song had been ignored until then, classic stuff.
I love this song. Machine Head is such a fantastic album.

Idk why but the low fidelity makes it sound so raunchy and good. I love these old promos for this reason alone.
Great band, one of my favourite bands
One of my favourite songs!!❤👏
Love this song! Could have been a single.
Was a single released in Australia on May 4th 1972, on their own PURPLE LABEL, but it sadly didn't make the top 40, got to number 62. But one of my favourites.
The intro guitar lick is so funky. That is why the original Metal was so great, it was hard, but also funky!
It’s not metal
@@ilovelorilynit is it's 70s metal
One of my absolute favorites DP made some very memorable tunes
Love Deep Purple stuff.one band that got me loving class Rock music...
Best Rock Band for ever!!!
Yes, you can say that again!
rolling stones would disagree ... and about 20 other legendary bands
@Bat227 Purple was awesome. I love the Stones but no one kicked your ass live like Deep Purple. Mark ll has been considered the 5 most talented Rock Musician to ever Play together. Yes there were many great band's but Purple was heads above 99% of them.
POR LEJOS , LARGA VIDA A DEEP PURPLE
Brilliant track
Purple at their best. RIP Jon
Never gets old!
2:40 Ritchie´s answer to Gillan, pure magic! Best of the Best
I love this song first deep purple single I bought . should of got to number 1
this is a proof popular music can also be sophisticated... hope our generation will understand that eventually
I guess it's the reason that this song is not too popular.
Lord's my favorite guy in the band. And I love Never Before.
Somebody somebody
Come to my side
I'm tired I'm crying
I'm sick inside
My woman that woman
Just wasn't right
Help me now, please my friend
I never felt so bad before
Never never before
So funny so funny
Just like a show
One name two people
All in a row
Somebody somebody
Someone must go
Help me now, please my friend
I never felt so bad before
Never never before
I was hurt when I was younger
By a woman who was cold
She took my name
She took my body
And she threw away my soul
Can't hide I can't hide my misery
I know my sorrow won't set me free
She did it d'you see she did it to me
Help me now please my friend
I never felt so bad before
Never never before
Thank you mate
Man, you have to appreciate the intentions getting in between your ears
My Favorite song is all songs from Deep Purple 🎸
I love this song , the band was super, whay a petty that life changed.
RIP JOHN LORD
Richie in deep "chilling-out" mode @ 2:50 - I don't blame him... it's a nice interlude before he ROCKS OUT!
I do blame him, or rather them, it's the most boring part of any Purple song, nearly spoiling it.
Always love you and we all love you Deep Purple ❤❤❤
Wish i could have discovered this sooner!!
Purp rules hunits never too late to enjoy
Deep Purple Still be Famous... I'm sorry for what my generation is doing with music... LONG LIFE TO DEEP PURPLE :p
Классика на века!
R.I.P Mr. Jon Lord
ДЖОН ЛОРД, ВЕЧНАЯ ПАМЯТЬ! FOREVER!

Prbly easier to say in hindsight but i agree wth jon lord's thinking dat it cld b a single. Think it's in de same league as DP's earlier Black Night.
I think one must have been stone dead not to realize that Smoke On The Water should be the single.
What memories of Woodville 68
Несравненные! Каждый из них гениален и неповторим!
Super organ player
Yes...
"Smoke on the water" should have been named "Never before" since it was the only song on the album that they did not work on before going into the studio. 🙃 Great song though...!
like it !
Great song
Daytripper riff cut in half. Gillan f**king fantastic.
Blackmore is god.
Frampton also used the riff in "Do You Feel Like We Do"
Think dat was a coincidence.
right ritchie dont like funk or whatever, but here it is,a few measures sort of..
Fantastici
unabashedly love this song...but alas, this is obviously NOT a video of Deep Purple performing it!
Who are they then? The Tremeloes?
Lol...gillan singing
Blackmore guitar
Lord keyboards
Glover bass.
Nah def not deep purple
I guess she meant it's mimed, not performed.
Great.... the keyboard solo was cut short at the end...
wonder how many views it would be if the video was HD and in sync. such a bummer that there are no good live versions of this song.
Spot the Day Tripper bit.
The best part is the middle: Ian and Ritchie.
Never Before was a great number..........unfortunately the record buying public thought otherwise, lol.

Yes it was, prbly to fit some time frame. U get the full version on de album. This is from de single, i think.

True. Side note: This hideously filmed clip is from a hideous German show called: Disco.
>>>
Jon's solo looks like it was edited down...otherwise great vid!
That would explain his unfitting praise of that short section barely featuring him. I wonder why they but this bad clip in the album playlist. It is generally an evil trend to replace the proper tracks with bad video clips in album playlists.
Odd have clip w Lord talking about this great song and cut his solo short. Lol wtf
I guess I'm the only one that realizes that the audio and video do *NOT* match...
I did too. The recorded version is superimposed over a DP live act. DP live would not have played it exactly like the record so dat s why u see de discrepancies between de video and de song.
Sound is the studio-version to other video..😕

Never liked this song. Its too pop sounding imo for a rock band of Deep Purple's stature.
Still heavy sounding....
mediocre
