    For screw locations
    B = Board (standoffs soldered on to the board)
    C = Components
    F = Frame
    Those gold screws are usually silver, I think some versions had gold and some had silver. They're TR10 by the way 🤫
    Black screws are for front panels and apu and they're TR9. Hopefully that helps you bud

    Used this video today to track down a bad mosfet on an X1S I picked up for $30, just starting out, so no donor boards yet, so sitting it in the closet for now until I get another board in I can scavenge from, but pretty happy I was (hopefully, knock on wood!) able to narrow it down. Ooof Steven if I'm being honest, LOTS of watching videos on TH-cam. Andrew Paul, Adamant IT, Cod3r, Nothridge Fix, Computer Booter, Micro Mage Repair, TronicsFix - all these channels I learn new things from, and I'd say a good old binge of videos would get you started.
      Physical devices I started on DS Lites getting used to ribbon cables and small components, even regular gameboys etc. Maybe set yourself a little budget that you're willing to lose, and try to find some faulty consoles on Ebay 😊 Always happy to try and give some advice where I can pal!

      @staminaman77 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JoeyDoesTech Yeah i've been watching a few of those guys mentioned, I watch the cod3r, I watch northridge fix too and although i find it interesting what Northridge Repair does , I just want to learn more about the technical aspect of things. I've seen a couple good videos from some small youtubers about fault finding on the xbox one S. I've recently took a gamble on ebay and got a broken xbox one x on the way from ebay for about £106, Think its from a repair company, description just says its a retimer chip problem. Gonna give it a crack when i get it, I've never done microsoldering but have a fair amount of standard soldering experience, IMO you can never learn if you don't take risks, I believe i'm capable of doing it but hey ho, if it go's pair shaped its a learning experience.
