Joey, while I'm very proud, as someone that's watched this whole series, that you're almost at the $1,000 profit mark, I think I speak for the entire JDT community when I say, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE WANTS THIS SERIES TO GO AWAY AND WE DEMAND SEASON 2, WITH A GOAL OF $1,500. Ok that's all. Love the videos 😀
@@TheM0nkeyBomb this would literally be like a 1,000 episode season 2 lol.. unless he started buying broken cars on eBay to try and fix those instead lol.
Season 1 has been a blast. As others are saying, for season 2 you should get out of your comfort zone and repair something totally different like TVs, Laptops etc... That would be awesome
In season 2 please expand your choices in matter of repairing.I love seeing consoles repaired but something different from time (like a laptop, phone etc)to time is very welcomed
Joey, thanks for your great content. I've learned so much from watching your channel. I have some soldering skills. I tried to do a Switch USB C change and failed hard. Got discouraged and it sat on my bench for a few months. Then I started watching you and learned so many good tips. Then I retried with your methods and had a great success! Cheers to you mate 🍻
Joey been watching for the past 8 months, and you really make the videos interesting to watch and you explain so much. My new favorite channel. And how you have learnt so much since starting is an amazing achievement. Rich
I know it's verging on begging now... but I want you to do a series working through all the old retro consoles trying to fix each one. You can start with my OG XBOX which I am very sentimentally attached to and would love you to fix! 🙏😆
Hi Joey i just wanted to tell you that i really enjoy your videos and could bingewatch them for hours and hours on end, you are inspiring and patient, i learned a lot from you. Keep it up boss!
Joey, I recently found your channel and love it! Have you thought about fixing faulty GPUs? I would love to see some of those shoved into your videos. Maybe even just expanding the memory on them.
Okay Joey, let me honestly talk about how you became my favourite "repair youtuber". You have started as a beginner (basically), you said openly that your work could be better, and you successfully evolved to this "repair master" I'd say. As much as I like both Steves (Tronics and Stez) and Coder, you're for me basically the amalgamate all the qualities that's necessary to be successful in this field, I mean great explanation, great to watch, no overly long tech talk. I'm safe to say that we're happy for your S1 accomplishments. Keep up the fantastic work @JoeyDoesTech
I came late to the show you had around 15 episodes in before I found this series but I've watched them all glad you got it so close this time another great episode
man vs machine... vs sometimes not noticing the xbox x's hdmi glued to the board... it has been a great ride Joey boy! and i hope we reach the goal before the 100 episode. I love your work and hope you have a great shop one day! Cheers from Argentina=)
I'd love season 2 with something a bit different. Maybe trying to fix different more complicated stuff like graphics cards, on top of the usual. And some upgrades, like clean gloves.
I've been curious what setup you are using, my current Yihua is struggling with thicker boards, cant remove ports...I was told on reddit it's because my air gun has an in handle blower. I'd wish i'd known better before purchasing it, but what can you do. I'm relatively new to soldering myself, and work for a company that does their business on amazon, in the returns department fixing broken returns, would love to be able to do this on the side as well, not the streaming just the side gig for money lol. Personally looking into an Xtronic 4040 Pro X Platinum series.
Heya - glad to see another video . I do have a challenge for you if you get this... the game gear from sega has a screen that has 68 pin ribbon cable that has to have each pin soldered. very hard to line up even with tips from retrosix can you come up with a method to make it easier to line up and solder those cables? :D
Joey I think the reason we're seeing a lot of solder paste in the industry everywhere all over the planet is because a lot of hardware stores are carrying it now as a stock item. It takes low heat to use instead of buying a soldering iron and soldering equipment and I think people are thinking they can do repairs without investing into soldering tools.. including people who aren't even in the repair industry. Like literally in the United States you can go to any home Depot or Lowe's and get solder paste and attempt repairs with just a lighter or torch and a tube of paste...
Great video. Did you manage to remove the stains mentioned at the start of the video? I’ve got a console with similar shiny stains and unable to remove them.
Joey, how can I get to your standard of circuit analysis and repair? So far, I've just been covering basic electrical engineering and electronics with a udemy course, but I don't feel this theory is going to teach me how to troubleshoot.
If it makes you feel better... People have been trying to fix their ports with glue guns since they 90s. Someone tried to fix their serial port (the OG serial) with a glue gun. The thought they used war I **** you not was that a glue gun and a soldering iron looked similar.
This CC actually happened to me! Took my old ps4 about 9 years ago to a repair shop as the disc drive stopped working. Turned out my 3 year old at the time had put my bank card in the slot. So the previous owner probably had a mischievous kid
Hey Joey I am currently repairing a ls2 and I see you find these thorough repair guides for consoles, would you be able to help me find a repair guide for a ps2?
Someone's other half wasn't happy and shoved the card in the disk drive lmao. Been great watching this season. Hopefully once this season finishes, well get more seasons of glorious goodness
The card in the disc drive doesnt surprise me in the slightest. My kid has put coins in the tv vents. He put bread and chips down the exhaust of my motorbike and he post the letters an toys back out the letterbox. Oh and lego men down the mouth of a walking trex toy that jammed that up.
How much do you charge for? I have a Xbox one S or something I’m not in to Xbox but will working on it for some reason no more power and something wrong with the eject button or something?
subbed. wanna get back into fixing stuff. had a moto g13 for a while ago and fixed the screen but it didn't come with adhesive on the spare part screen and my lil bro broke it. thankfully replacement screens on them phones are only £10
I never expected the profit per episode to be 10 pounds or less on average. Hard repairs too most often, thats pretty sad really that there's practically no money to be made repairing stuff.
We teach small children to put wooden blocks of different shapes and sizes, into there respective spaces. So it makes sense to the that a nectar card should fit into that slot :)
Season 2: You should get progressively more expensive broken electronics using the profit from the previous to buy the next, goal at the end is to sell the end item for £1,000.
I would love to see a new season, but please make some changes if this one has ended. I would like to propose that "regular" consoles get their own type of series and you reserve the eBay series for the outliers. It will force your creativity in finding interesting things to repair, will increase (hopefully) the chance of finding something not chewed up and spit out by a previous repair "technician" and it will teach you much more about repairing things you have seldom/never seen before. Like I said, no reason to stop repairing the PS5 or the Xbox series X, but please keep them out of the eBay challenge.
Seconded!
Hard disagree!!! .... needs to be £2000 for Season 2!
Please do season 2!
Deffo season 2 with 2g profit 👍🏻

Whoever owned that white xbox 1 S got tired of all the micro transactions and just gave them their card
And it ate it out of spite

Credit card?!? Put that into Sally Spectacular, you can retire!!!!
Card in the disc reader is 100% toddlers shenanigans. Our kids love to stuff random stuff into random gaps.
I know it's verging on begging now... but I want you to do a series working through all the old retro consoles trying to fix each one. You can start with my OG XBOX which I am very sentimentally attached to and would love you to fix! 🙏😆
If he doesn't go that route, check out @retrosix --his repairs are primarily on old machines and also really entertaining to watch
Love this serie and all other content you make. You're skills of streaming and soldering have really grown a lot. Can't wait for season 2 🎉

I'm honestly happy you're just fixing things. I hope youtube makes up for the earnings!
Fairly new sub. This vid marks me catching up after powering through the whole series. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks, Joey
How cool to have been on this entire ride with you! I don’t want it to end, though! ❤

You should start buying laptops for season 2 . There are a lot of simple fixes that can bring good money if you know how.
Yes That will be interesting
Totally agree! Laptops would be super cool!
Also a lot more broken APUs.
6:00 well we know that's steeve can apply the perfect amount of thermal paste
Ok ok ok. You may not have checked the most important part, was the screw thread ripped out for the screw below the warranty sticker?
Absolutely love this series
Always relaxing to see you replace a HDMI port :)
What multimeter do you use or which would you recommend? Mine is a cheapy and I want an upgrade.
You're inspiring me to spend money on a hobby I can't afford :)
Tell me about it 😂
Love this series! For series 2, your spreadsheet could also calculate profit per hour. 🤣
I'd love season 2 with something a bit different. Maybe trying to fix different more complicated stuff like graphics cards, on top of the usual. And some upgrades, like clean gloves.
Well done Joey. One more and open a season two please.
Congrats Joey, lets gooo!!!!! 🎉
love your content Joey, please keep it coming, you deserve more subs :)
The professional went to get a coffee 😂

In any repair you have to include solder, flux and labour, time is worth something!
Do you only fix game consoles? Would love to see other stuff like cameras etc.
Almost there, Joey! 👍👍👍

Will you give a try at graphics cards in the next season? Or what will be the difference?
Do you open up power supply's to try fix? good fixes

Hi Can you tell me what solding station that you are using ?? thanks..
Glad to see I'm not the only one who stores my half credit cards in my consoles.
When the season ends you should do a best of video and a blooper video
8:46 made me chuckle
The card in the disc drive doesnt surprise me in the slightest. My kid has put coins in the tv vents. He put bread and chips down the exhaust of my motorbike and he post the letters an toys back out the letterbox. Oh and lego men down the mouth of a walking trex toy that jammed that up.

Credit card in the disc drive is foreshadowing the future of gaming and microtransactions

I suspect it was opened before because if you look at the label you can see a faint diagonal line just past the screw
So close!!! 💪🏻
"Now on the back, you can really see that those are big balls....nice."
what mat do you use please
Did they just slap solder paste on there and then hotglue it in place? Boggles the mind.
8:46 in the back you are going to see that those are big balls yeah... nice! Is this channel kids safe Joey? 😛
4:28 Guys, we've been bamboozled.
MX 4 term paste is good choice :)
Well done … goal within sight 😀👍 …. Maybe time to start preparing to work on newer gear or widen into the laptop/MacBook world??
14:28, excuse me, 2:22AM? Go to bed mr joey!
Nice I wonder what's waiting on season 2
you didn't add the replacement port price Joey lol. (-60.53$).
I never expected the profit per episode to be 10 pounds or less on average. Hard repairs too most often, thats pretty sad really that there's practically no money to be made repairing stuff.
Joey mate, have you tried fixing GPUs?
We teach small children to put wooden blocks of different shapes and sizes, into there respective spaces. So it makes sense to the that a nectar card should fit into that slot :)
Yes, we tech them that, then get mad if they actually apply what they have learned (paying with card through the disc drive)
I would love to see if you can get in contact with the repair person using hot glue and no heat 😅
Season 2: You should get progressively more expensive broken electronics using the profit from the previous to buy the next, goal at the end is to sell the end item for £1,000.
Ahh so close :) Port replacements at the speed of light now :) Worse thing is, you already know the end result :p
He goes in an anticlockwise rotation. Because it feels more comfortable.
Did the guy from last episode Ever get back to you?
So close now can almost see the finish line, cross fingers it will be next episode.
Its season 1 coming to a close! Not the channel! Sheesh people settle down..
interesting to watch, but the xbox or playstation gets old and repetitive
super glue = expert ofc
"credit card? you've got it"
Season 1 has to end on episode 99 or 100!
Yeah stopping this series would be VERY stupid lol.
That poor Xbox, the only thing I will add is they didn’t pull any pads off as that would be a real toaster.
Bought from same seller, retimer and 1tb drive both failed at the same time 🤔
Good job 👏
1000 pounds in profit, 10000 in parts inventory. Thats how my fixing goes.
I'm sure solder paste has it's applications. I however will never be touching it unless I really need to. 💀
Pretty sure that's someone's spare bin assembled into a console. (first console)
My three-year-old daughter, she broke a skewer and stuck it in the PS3 drive.
If you're using solder paste to replace an HDMI port. I'm sorry I don't think we can be friends.
Hi son hope you’re all great ❤❤❤
The microtransactions are getting too crazy when people start putting in their credit cards in to their consoles
100 episodes to profit 859? Is that correct ❤
I would love to see a new season, but please make some changes if this one has ended. I would like to propose that "regular" consoles get their own type of series and you reserve the eBay series for the outliers. Come on Joey target of £1000 next video you can do it 👍
The last one s system I fixed had a provisional license in the disk drive
What on Earth was that card doing there? 🤔
4:22 I donut believe it either
Join the Discord !! - But I didn't know you could 'soldered' an xbox on eBay LMFAO
🤔 who is that one person that can put the right amount of thermal paste..?
£140 for a broken Xbox??????????????
