- Tired of these dull Factory lights? Me too. So I decided to upgrade my interior lights to Bright LEDs. Follow along if you have been thinking of doing this upgrade and see for yourself how significant the difference is.

It looks great. I replaced my lights in my RV to LED and never thought of it for the Ridgeline. I will be doing the same as you. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks for the video. I just added these to my 2021 RTL-E. Makes a huge difference! Only thing I can add is the be careful when pushing in the LED lights as I pinched the receptacle forcing the upper receiver to close. After a quick investigation I realized what had happened and was able to fix it. Great end results.

Did this on my 2008 Honda Ridgeline used them all need 2 more for the inside ceiling did the outside ones and 4 doors got the same one saw the video it was easy

I’ve been told that the front courtesy lights are actually LED with a warm glow, they are wired in , they do not have plugs, found this on a Ridgeline forum, I have seen the back side of the housing where both the map and courtesy lights are soldered in, that’s why you never see the front lights replaced on TH-cam, I wouldn’t have guessed it but it appears to be true, stupid move by Honda, this was a 19 RTL-E

Do you know how to change the front interior lights, the ones that come on when the door is open?
I have a 19. I’ve changed the reverse oem to led, BIG difference. I plan changing the others as well!

Don’t have a video up yet but maybe soon. I have an RTLE so I can’t remember but the headlights area LEDs I think so I don’t know if they can be replaced. Maybe the high beams are different and can. I know lower trims headlights can be replaced. I would go with whatever light produces the most lumens per bulb.
@@YuriyMotso my 2020 RTLE had led low beams and halogen high beams. I switched out the halogens for led...huge difference. Thanks for the video Yuri

Be careful with the rear dome lights guys. When I went to install the LEDs in my brand new Black Edition, the socket on the passenger side just pushed away. It was clearly not properly installed and as soon as I tried to push the new bulb in, the socket pushed away. As a result, I can't install any bulb because the socket is just floating around up there. Now I have to take it in to the dealership and hope they'll fix it under warranty. I'm very surprised by how flimsy the socket was.
how about the Daytime running lights near the headlights for LED replacement candidate???

You gotta take off the plastic cover and then the breather for the driver side high beam (same for when you wanna jump someone using your Ridgeline/Pilot/Passport). It's actually pretty easy.
Dunno about the passenger side, but I will update when I attempt the project.
Any suggestions for a back up light? I would like to have more light when backing. I am open for suggestions. Either in the stock location, hang under the bumper, custom installed in the bumper, etc. It would be nice to be able to see clearly with the camera when backing up to a trailer after dark. Thanks man!
Check my light strip mod. This will add a significant amount more lighting.
I could not get one of the dome light bulbs out no matter how hard I tried. I just couldn’t get a grip on it. Couldn’t pry it either. I finally wrapped the bulb with a strip of duct tape and it pulled right out.
Not a bad trick.
I used a similar trick with a long piece of scotch tape wrapped each end securely around bulb with excess tape as a handle and bulb came right out! This after two separate and frustrating tries to get those suckers out with my arthritic fingers.
I have a 2020 honda pilot exl with nav and res mine didn't come with lights on my doors what models do
So after a week I went out to check the license plate lights and found them to be out. As well as the parking lamps. I’m going to check the fuses. I’ll keep you posted.
Using same light? Mine are still running fine. Looked at them yesterday night. Been a while now.
@@YuriyMotso yes sir. The same ones from your link. Got them off Amazon. I have to pull the fuse today. I thinks it’s #27 in the drivers foot well area.
@@YuriyMotso yup it was a blown fuse. 7.5 brown let go. Swapped the stock bulbs in the license plate and installed a new fuse and the parking lights are on

Yuriy, I’ve done the interior lighting LED upgrade, as well as, tag and backup lights and had missed doing the door panels, will do those next.
Noticed you didn’t do the backups yet. I used the JDM ASTAR Extremely Bright 3030 Chipsets White 7443. These bulbs come 4 pin and the OEM are 2 pin, all you do is clip off 2 of the 4 pins and works perfect. The difference in brightness is excellent…
I have actually done the back ups a long time ago before I started my channel. Crazy bright. May have to make a video just for it for a comparison as people have asked now. I should still have my original lights.
I want to add more light to my bed
I ordered a pack for my 2019 RTL but they only worked in the rear seat dome lights. Trying to find a bulb that will work in the bed and plate lights. The bed bulbs are slightly larger.

I replaced all my lights except the front interior. They are set up a little different as one set already has LED but the other is the yellow halogen. Can you make a video showing how to remove the cover for those lights? It didnt seem like they pop off the same as the other covers.

@@gavi2021 and a third,there has to be way to replace those 2 front lights, the map lights are already LED’s, unsure why Honda did this , should have been all LED
I ran into same issue. When changing bulbs to LED. The Interior and Maps seem to be constricted into a complete panel by itself. Assuming the Bulbs are not a typical 194 etc
So all my LEDs look great however when opening the doors I see Halogen and the LED map lights. Ughhh

hey, your rear window appeared to have a dashcam or some other device (micro-usb). Did you install the cable or was it professionally installed?
Tapped from the fuse box or something else?
I was considering tapping from the rear dome light power to do that.

It’s plugged into the cigarette lighter/auxiliary power outlet. It runs and records also if someone hits the vehicle. Really happy with it.
I'm wondering how the LED bulbs held up in your License plate / rear bumper position.
I replaced all of my mini 194's with Amazon chinese bulbs which work fine in all locations except in the license plate area. If it's below 40 degrees they flicker like strobe lights
Still holding up great. Was following my wife and I was looking at all my exterior lights and loving the upgrade.

No, the reverse light are different. I have an amazing set of lights I installed a long time ago. Maybe ill do a before and after video of them.

Could you explain how to replace the vanity lights in the sun visors? I wasn't able to find any good videos explaining that. Not sure if these bulbs will fit given how slim the visor is?

I have the 2019 RTLT outfitted with halogen lamps throughout. I asked my local Honda dealer about replacing all of my halogens with LED lamps. I was told that it will mess with the computer and I should not do it. Any thoughts? BTW, I like your Video's right to the point!
Not sure about messing with computer. The resistance changes a tiny bit but I dont know how that would affect the computer. I have seen no issues other than every now and then when connecting my Bluetooth the head unit restarts. Maybe once a month but it could be a software issue or Honda issue.
If I remember correctly, they said the harness would have to be replaced to accommodate the resistance/capacitance to the computer. With that being said, I decided not to go down that road. Not sure if your RTLE is provided with a different harness.
I replaced all signals, reverse, dome, door flood, and license plate lights with LEDs on my 2022 Black Edition and I'm having no issues. I had to get specific bulbs for the markers since regular LEDs would gove hyperflash, but they're all blinking normally with no electrical anomalies.
I just replaced the bulbs but couldn’t figure out how to replace the front dome bulbs. Have you replaced those bulbs?
So the dome bulbs above the driver and passenger are permanently soldered into place I read. I began messing around with it and honestly chances of breaking something are high so I decided to scrap that change out and do what’s actually easily accessible. I agree though, they are absolutely terrible and provide poor lighting.

Like with older generation halogen bulbs, is it NOT a good idea to touch the LED portion?
I try not to.
Honestly never heard that before on LEDs but did do a quick google check and you are right. Thanks for this information. Will handle like I would handle head lights moving forward.

Which ones specifically? The front roof dome lights above the shifter? Those are welded in place from what I understood and not worth the effort.
Will these work for the the lights in the bed?
I have an RTLE so my lights are LED already. The lower trims will most likely be the same lights if they are not LED already.

Dome lights? Can’t find a video anywhere on how to take the dome assembly apart without breaking it…
I looked into it and it’s not worth the hassle. I also believe I read that they are soldered so more headaches than it’s worth but agree the lighting is terrible

I began to pop the whole assembly out it does seem to open a little but I’m afraid to pull it further because I don’t want to break it
