Even as a Jeep owner I agree - cannot understand how they could not have sorted themselves out or shipped out the production elsewhere until the replacement Defender (2019?) is ready!
"Sorted themselves out"? As in make the body EuroNCAP safe? And the engine Euro 6 compliant? Oh, riiiiight...
they stopped making them because america was off limits, the car was handmade, and it wasnt very profitable, they want to automatize the production so its cheaper to make, and they want to wrap the entire car with useless plastic bumpers instead of useful iron ones, but doubt they will come out with anything decent, because it will also have to have all the modern safety features in order to be sold in the US, so be glad we still have our jeeps, and hope that TATA does make the car decent
I live in South Africa and have extensively traveled Botswana and other SADEC countries, I can say with confidence for every Toyota Land cruiser on the road here there are 3 to 5 defenders. People are still paying close to $100 000 for a final edition 2016 model as they are in such high demand here.

We actually added the KBX intakes during the handover! They finished the build nicely, this Defender did not have any engine mods.

All that glass, man id be quite nervous offroad but even on road with rocks and whatnot!
The glass does look great, to be fair this customer has not built the vehicle for off road use, Its more of a heavy duty, extremely hi-spec utility vehicle.
So beautiful, my question is why they stopping making it?

Nice restoration. I like that dash because it protrudes slightly into the interior allowing the driver to access switches and instruments more easily. The gauges are clearly defined as in a Discovery. The older style dash was difficult to read even in daylight. The raised floor manages the shifter and 4WD selector's reach to be more convenient and natural. Im curious has the side to side arm space increased? It was pretty tight for the driver's left arm. I have that Pioneer head unit - it's interface is horrible. Apple or Google should make their own radios and be done with it. 👍🏼

well i have to say this is more a show car than one for the rough, which is really what defender is built for. there's no winch, no underbody protection, no CB radio, no storage system, not a trace of the features a good 4x4 is expected to have.
yep - no lockers, no bullbar, all terrains instead of muds... the list goes on.. its more a quasi show car than the ultimate defender
Not every customer wants to drive off road, we build plenty that are more geared towards off road use. Each to there own 😎

Do you do Engine mods and upgrades also? Say could you take an 120,000mile 2002 defender and make sure it's mechanically sound then do all the plush leather trim, touch screen, exterior etc?

Can you install dynomat (sorry for spelling) easily? I'm from Australia 17 and bought a 2015 land rover defender 110, wanna trick it a bit for offloading but also with modern luxuries.. saved up a fortune and don't wanna spend any unneeded costs like getting someone els to install stuff. So is it possible to buy and install dynomating into your doors? also whats the brand of the tow bar? looks sick and heavy duty. Cheers!

You can buy it online. It comes in squares with sticky on one side. You just stick it to the panels and hey presto done. One thing I have read, is that you do not have to completely cover every inch of the panel. Something like 60-70% coverage is all that is required. The difference from this to 100% is not noticeable. It is expensive stuff, so use just what is required. I'm sure there are some videos on here of sound proofing a car, so it would be the same application as that.

amazing. let's drop the 4.4 tdv8 twin turbo diesel and up the power from the 313 to 400bhp. or the 5.0 litre V8 SC and up the power to 575 bhp... send the G when packing
