Complete VR6 Scirocco Build in 15 minutes

- We acquired a stock 1984 Scirocco and embarked on a complete overhaul restoration, including a rebuilt VR6 engine. We began by inspecting the vehicle, identifying rust, drivability issues, paint problems, and more. Next, we removed the old engine from the Scirocco, overcoming challenges caused by rust and old bolts. We then proceeded to tear down the $500 VR6 engine we purchased for the swap. This engine presented a multitude of problems, including jumped timing chains, leak-down issues, and coolant jacket problems, among others. To address these issues, we rebuilt the entire engine with new parts and installed a 5-speed manual transmission in our Scirocco. Installing the engine was a tight fit, requiring careful installation. We also replaced the exhaust, cable shifter, coil-overs, control arms, and any other components that appeared unsafe, including the fuel lines, wheels and tires, brakes, and headlights. Finally, once the restoration was complete, we detailed the car to give its matte paint a glossy new look.

I drove an '85 Scirocco turbo in college. That was a seriously well built car! I had hardly any problems with it in 113,000 miles of driving. I only sold it because I found a '92 Corrado SLC that I liked better...

It is a dream to me to work in a swap, i have only made the typical engine assemblies, installation and such things, also a gearbox swap (from at to mt), but never this. I need maybe a mig welding machine, and i'll maybe motivate for this kind of work.

What this car REALLY needs is a Zender Z400 widebody kit... and I have one that's new (never installed). Only problem is I'm in Canada :P Well now I either have to do this swap, buy yours, or sell you my Zender widebody. They MUST come together. It only seems appropriate :D
