    I have been suffering from knee and low back pain since 2018. No body told me anything useful that can give me relief until now. I got in contact with your videos not more than a week now. I have followed your videos on baby squarts and they helped so much. I have added these ones for knee again. The world indeed is a small village now. One can get help no matter what region he or she is living. Thanks so much my dear Dr.

    Dr. Middaugh you are the best. Thank you for your videos explaining your exercises and demonstrating them. I have been doing physical therapy for years for a knee injury, had arthroscopy and knee surgery over the years. Now I have to have a knee replacement to finally get normal range of motion and strength. My knee has been slightly bent since the injury first surgery. I have never understood why the PT couldn't straighten my leg and have had limitations to stoop, all cartilage shattered and removed. I just want to walk normally with no limitations. Your exercises were never shown to me by any of my PT people and you have been so helpful to show exercises that really work. Bless you and your practice.

      Hi, Michael! You're so welcome! Here at El Paso Manual Physical Therapy we specialize in helping people avoid unnecessary injections & surgery while traditional physical therapy tends to focus on healing post surgery. Because of this, the information we provide will be different versus traditional physical therapy advice. :)

    I found this whilst searching about knee replacement.
    I have been doing the glute strengthening exercises and these stretching exercises. Over a period of a month I usually have 2-4 days of excruciating pain requiring meds (high dose cocodamol and Naproxen), 7 days of no pain and the remainder in the 1-6 bracket sometimes needing meds (ibuprofen and low dose cocodamol). What this regimen has done is put it in the low band most of the time but no need for meds. I am hoping as the flexibility and glutes improve this reduces. But it's good not to be stuffing meds down my throat to survive the day.
    Just thank you for making it simple and accessible. Sharing with people who need it.

    Thanks for all the information I do have a knee doctor and I go there and he doesn't do anything. Except for taking X-ray and say there's nothing wrong with your knee. And put tape on my knee which I don't like. Because I can't see when the swelling goes down. It takes forever to get that tape off. So I'm on day 13 right now my swelling and my knee is almost gone now. Happens once a year. Three times. PS it's not in my knee it's around my kneecap. The longest it ever took the first time was 24 days to get rid of it last time a year ago it was 12 days I think it's going to take 15 this time

    Love this! I can't wait to see how things work out doing these new stretches. My last few physical and occupational therapists hurt me so bad i was not able to walk after they left and OT would literally yank my arms to try to stretch the contractures in my elbows. I decided to take things in my own hands and I've been doing so much better. I hope with these new stretches things get even better.

      Hi, it’s been 7 months ever since my mom had knee surgery. She is able to move one of her knee freely but the other keeps swelling, she keeps referring about stiffness in the corner of the joint section. This makes her movements very stiff. The doctor around our area suggested that it could be because there is some issue in the corners and we should be focusing on exercises which helps in corner muscle movements. Can you suggest something on this?

    Hello Doc, I had ACL reconstruction a year ago and probably went back to sports to early. 2 month ago got a cartilage fissure ( trochea femur) grade 4. 5mm around the fissure is injured area. Just found your cannel and start with applying your advises. Before 2nd injury I had full (extreme) flexion (practiced yoga). Could sit on my legs. Now I am missing last 10%. I fill creaking when around 140 degree but no pain. Is it advisable to practice stretching and try to reach full flexion again? I am 43.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Dusan, that sounds like a situation where you likely have a permanent loss of motion. You can try stretching for a few weeks, but if the motion does not come then this is likely your new normal. It's worth a chance, but given your situation it might not improve very much.

      @@epmanualphysicaltherapy Thanks for advice, I appreciate! Do you think I am candidate for your 28 days program? I do not feel pain, but still do fill some kind discomfort and a kind "pressure" when I step on my leg. Somethings fill a bit of pain when make some sudden stronger move. I want to be very careful not to push things too hard, and make some further damage. (to remind, now is around 2 month from cartilage injury)

    Very helpful, thank you. Guessing I have knee arthritis with stiffness that has developed since I started PT because of left medial meniscus tear. I didn’t want to wait 6 weeks to get in to see the orthopedic doc’s PA so asked PCP to refer me to PT. The pain from the meniscus tear has resolved, but the exercises the PT is having me do…a lot of stretching of the thigh, hips, calves and strengthening of thigh, glutes…I’ve developed severe tightness around my left knee with bending feeling like there is a tight band around it! I want to do the stretching daily, but maybe it’s too much right now? Your recommended movements are already helpful and I will continue them. I have received an authorization for an MRI - the original X-ray report did not mention any arthritis and I have never had any problems with my knees (70 years old). The therapist thinks because of the limited ROM from my 20 year old right ankle replacement that my left knee was compensating and finally said “enough!” I have my son getting married in another 10 days and was wanting to be able to do the Mother and Son dance with him without too many problems…hoping the MRI will show what the actual problem is and we can go from there but that isn’t for another 2 weeks. Guess I’ll just treat it as if I do have knee arthritis - shouldn’t hurt anything if I listen to my body.

    I realized I can't genuflect without help getting up. I did have a meniscus repair on left legs several years and did well. Then i had a large meniscus tear, long story there a delay, so for 2 omths i had pain and swelling. Had surgery in January 2023. This was a slower recovery. Thr meniscustear was large and more extensive than anticipated. Nothing major was seen. I had inflamation andhad an steroid injection which helped. However, i continued with discomfort. I had a second MRI the area showed inflammation which wasn't in the first MRI, and it also showed some amount of bone swelling. Now, this may be due to the fact I was driving and reared by 2 cars and hit my knee I to the dashboard! I have a splint tonuse to push the right knee cap inward to reduce pressure. I have stairs, so I am up and down, but I use one leg to keep the pressure of the right knee. I need to be mobile. I know I can't kneel at all. I think its knee inflamation. I've started your exercises. I refused PT bc my last meniscus repair PT aggravated my recovery, and it gave me much pain. I just did my daily functions, and it improved completely. Any suggestions? Thanks great video

    In your opinion is there anyway to restore knee/shoulder flexibility to an arthritic joint. I am 72 and a former power lifter. I am now experiencing pain in all my joint and back. I exercise daily. I do flexibility training and light weights. In your experience are there any supplements that would help? Thank you.

    Hello!
    I have had problems with my knees for many years and the help I have received has only made it worse, as my thigh muscles are too strong. Now I have done your exercises and feel a difference. But is it common to get tight / stiff in the calf and Achilles tendons and in the arch of the foot?

    34 years ago l had 3 surgeries on my left knee and 2 surgeries on my right knee after I broke both knees simultaneously while playing basketball at the YMCA after a freakish injury after a sudden jump stop move proved too forceful for my knees as they both snapped instantly. My doctors had never heard of such an injury involving both knees while playing basketball.. This included a near fatal case of toxic shock syndrome when my left knee became infected while my wounds were healing. For the next 20 years I had knee pain and stiffness off and on. Then I decided to focus on changing my mindset as well as exercise and a healthy diet (losing 40 pounds in the process) and that was a game changer. Today at 55 years old I have virtually no knee pain or stiffness and I'm in the best shape of my adult life. Now I'm an aspiring wellness coach with the goal of helping others overcome their own similar challenges. Have you heard of a similar injury to the one l experienced? I'm very curious. Thank you
