I changed my relationship status, moved apartments and jobs in the first 4 months of last year. It was honestly one of the most stressful times in my life, and the following things helped me through. 1) Leaning on family and friends - difficult to ask for help, but honestly, it's kinda what they are there for! 2) Journalling - it's the first time that I had done this consistently, and it was helpful then to process emotions, and is great to look back on now. 3) Gratitude - A cliche, but so, so true! Bringing your awareness to your blessings, however small, can really shift your mindset. 4) Getting outside - Even if for a few moments, just to reconnect with nature, can heal you more than a whole day in bed. 5) Compassion towards myself - self care practices and not being critical of myself too much when struggling, is still something I struggle with today, but was definitely something that helped last year. Getting married is no bigger step than you make it. Especially if you were smart enough to live together and going through that possible tension before marriage. And if you have truly discussed the future like if you both want children or not and when. If you are both fully aware of your individual economical situation etc. The only difference between being monogamaous bf&gf to being married is, if you have no prenup, is that if you someday part ways it’ll be more economically tricky. I'm having a really bad period. Since my last birthday, on the 1 March, I started to feel depressed, anxious and stressed every single day. I had panick attacks, I had days when I couldn't even go to school bc I felt so bad that all I wanted to do was stay in bed for the rest of my life. Some days ago I had a really bad breakdown, but instead of tear me down even more, I started to look at my life in a different way. I have just a week of school left, tomorrow I have my last exam, and I'm here watching your inspirational videos trying to get my life together. I don't to feel sad and useless anymore. I want to start building my goals, dreams, and my future. This is what I'm going to do this summer: have the biggest change in my life. I'm going to Canada for 2 months to start build my future there, so when I finish high school next year, I can go to college in Ottawa, where my cousin lives. All I'm trying to say is that I will never thank you enough for inspiring me and motivate me so much through your videos. I never comment on videos but within the past couple months, my grandma passed away and a few weeks ago our landlord evicted us to sell our house. Honestly, I don't think this video couldn't have been better timed with its release. I've been almost hiding from the fact that I need to leave my husband for my own wellbeing, and the fact that it's going to be such a huge change for me. I married young and spent almost all of my 20s with him and suffered a lot of my mental and emotional growth being stunted because of his abuse, even if it was unintentional. I'm so proud of you and all that you do for us, Kalyn, especially in times like these that hurt and you turn that pain into something so positive and strive to help others through their own situations.

Hi Kalyn! This is so strange how you can tell even from a TH-cam video that a person is going through something when you were watching them for a while now. I had a feeling that this kind of coffee talk was coming. And the fact that you're taking this change so peacefully is the reason for all the great things that will come next to your life because you are opening the door for them right now. I know from my own experience. I had a very hard break up that ended a 7-year relationship, which I thought were meant to be there forever. And just like you I chose to focus on the positive sides, on myself, on how this whole messed up situation somehow will work for the best one day. So I set a goal to listen to what I want and go for it no matter what because I felt like for the first time I had that magical time to be there for myself and no longer only for someone else. And guess what... This determination to see a positive side and to focus on me one day very unexpectedly lead me to a person who is now my fiancé. I've had so much weird and scary change, a lot of that needs triggerwarnings, but the scariest change is what I'm facing right now: safety. I completed university, I'm in a loving relationship, living in a great home and I'm completely safe and happy in my life. My brain is goin haywire, trying to process this new situation but finding meaning in every little act and finding gratefulness for the bad things that brought me here today is keeping me sane. As someone who's been through a lot of grief at a relatively young age, here is some stuff I've learned: 1. You are constantly changing, before-event you ia different from post-event you, and this change is usually proportional to the significance of the event (Newton's law, for every action there's an equal opposite reaction) 2. You're in control of a lot of how you grow out of trauma. You can decide, to some degree, to cope healthily and cope in a way that genuinely helps YOU as a person. I was never equipped with the idea that coping will happen, so I was just kind of paused and assumed it would work itself out. Everybody's different, so take the time to explore what helps you the most. Everything in life can be seen as an opportunity if you truly want it to. There is always the first layer of your natural reaction, then second, what you decide to do with it. 3. People can be incredibly kind, you just have to let them know/help. People, teachers, bosses, friends, etc often have no clue how to deal with someone else's loss/trauma/etc, but if you advocate for yourself (the hardest part), they are often willing to make a win-win adapted situation. The flip side of that is nobody else will truly understand the degree of your loss, and that's okay 4. It is not your duty/responsibility to be somebody's legacy/continue where they left off. Be you. The things you learned from them will stay with you, do what you need to remember them, but from your perspective. Ideas live a lot longer than humans sometimes 5. Take care of yourself. Be kind, you have experienced a lot, which can put future stressors into perspective. Hopefully this helps someone 💛 again for anyone who's experienced grief, I'm so sorry 💛 what you'll learn will probably look different but I thought I'd put some of the things that help me 💛 good luck everyone have a good day

Hey, Kalyn. First, I love you to the moon and back. I’ve been watching you for over 2 years now and I can truly say that you have improved my life. Second, you said there are good and bad times since the break up and one thing I wanted to share with you is scientists think they have found the key to happiness. Gratitude. They did a study that when individuals showed gratification to the people who are most important to them in their life, their happiness increased by at least 19%. The scientists had the individuals write a letter about a special someone in their life who has influenced them the most and after writing page after page, the individuals were surprised when they had to call the person they wrote about and read them the letter. Needless to say, every individual who walked into that test felt happier after giving their gratitude.

Hey Kalyn, I just needed to explain why this video is so important to me. I spend most of my time beating myself up for not being good enough, smart enough, thin enough, pretty enough, etc. I constantly feel like I am useless and everyone else around me is dealing with everything so much better than me, or not dealing with anything bad at all. But watching this video, I realized that people do go thru hard shit sometimes, no matter who they are. I thought because you were so positive and happy that you just coast thru bad things and make it unscathed. Maybe you do, but there is no doubt that getting thru it is hard. I guess what I am trying to say is thank you for showing me that even you go thru hard times because sometimes its easy to forget. You help so many people with all of your videos, and I know I always feel better after watching them so thank you for that too 💜

My sister is getting married in two weeks and being her MOH has been impossible because she hasn't been easy to deal with at all, two days after that I leave for Nicaragua on a mission trip with my church which will be intense as hell because they are having their own issues this last week (look up an article, its absolutely insane), and aside from that I just went through a break up which happened for the exact reasons that yours did. Speaking of fears I get really really scared of clowns. If you want to know why well here it is. A very long time ago when I was really little I went to a Halloween carnival and we had a friend who was dressed up like a clown and he scared the hell out of me. My parents thought it was some kind of a Halloween joke but it wasn’t. I was really upset and very sad that I started to cry. And now today I am still really really scared of clowns

Even though leaving old friends may be hard, you all will stay in touch if you prioritate it. I’m so happy to hear that the breakup went so well. It’s almost startling when that happens. I was with someone I love dearly for 5 years and while we are still best friends, we broke up a few months ago. While it was still hard it too was such a healthy breakup. I was proud of us. I’ve never gone through a break up quite like it. I moved out, repainted the room in the new apartment, started painting/ drawing again, started a monthly reading challenge and I’m facing my writing procrastination/block and fears of putting myself out there by challenging myself to start a blog ❤️ and I really don’t know if I would be nearly so positive and excited about it without your videos motivating me and making me feel like I’ve got this! Girl, I love all of your videos, but this one... I've literally been going through very hard changes I feel I can't handle for the past couple of days and this came at the perfect time. I've been feeling like I'm right at the edge of breaking and falling emotionally to a place where it's gonna be hard to get out of. You have all my respect for being positive and filming a happy uplifting video even when you're going through crap, you are amazing. I logically know we all are powerful beings and in the end, we can handle anything life throws at us. Emotionally, I'm afraid though. But like you said, we'll know what the change was good for only by looking back at it, when we get through it. That's my problem now - I'm standing before a decision that I'm being forced to and whatever way I decide to go it's gonna be hard, and again, logically, both options could be sent to me by the Universe to teach me a lesson I need to learn, it's just so hard to choose. You are always there for us through hard times i really wish knew how we can return the comfort and support you give when you are clearly going through your hard times. I also wish i knew what to say to make you feel better but i don't... sorry. But lets fight though this together.
I changed my relationship status, moved apartments and jobs in the first 4 months of last year. It was honestly one of the most stressful times in my life, and the following things helped me through.
1) Leaning on family and friends - difficult to ask for help, but honestly, it's kinda what they are there for!
2) Journalling - it's the first time that I had done this consistently, and it was helpful then to process emotions, and is great to look back on now.
3) Gratitude - A cliche, but so, so true! Bringing your awareness to your blessings, however small, can really shift your mindset.
4) Getting outside - Even if for a few moments, just to reconnect with nature, can heal you more than a whole day in bed.
5) Compassion towards myself - self care practices and not being critical of myself too much when struggling, is still something I struggle with today, but was definitely something that helped last year.

I'm having a really bad period. Since my last birthday, on the 1 March, I started to feel depressed, anxious and stressed every single day. I had panick attacks, I had days when I couldn't even go to school bc I felt so bad that all I wanted to do was stay in bed for the rest of my life. Some days ago I had a really bad breakdown, but instead of tear me down even more, I started to look at my life in a different way. I have just a week of school left, tomorrow I have my last exam, and I'm here watching your inspirational videos trying to get my life together. I don't to feel sad and useless anymore. I want to start building my goals, dreams, and my future. This is what I'm going to do this summer: have the biggest change in my life. I'm going to Canada for 2 months to start build my future there, so when I finish high school next year, I can go to college in Ottawa, where my cousin lives. All I'm trying to say is that I will never thank you enough for inspiring me and motivate me so much through your videos. You really are a role model and I'm glad I can stan such a sweet girl, positive and mature girl like you. World needs more people like you Kalyn. All the love, Alex.

Honestly, I don't think this video couldn't have been better timed with its release. I've been almost hiding from the fact that I need to leave my husband for my own wellbeing, and the fact that it's going to be such a huge change for me. I married young and spent almost all of my 20s with him and suffered a lot of my mental and emotional growth being stunted because of his abuse, even if it was unintentional.
I'm so proud of you and all that you do for us, Kalyn, especially in times like these that hurt and you turn that pain into something so positive and strive to help others through their own situations.

Hi Kalyn! This is so strange how you can tell even from a TH-cam video that a person is going through something when you were watching them for a while now. I had a feeling that this kind of coffee talk was coming. And the fact that you're taking this change so peacefully is the reason for all the great things that will come next to your life because you are opening the door for them right now. I know from my own experience. I had a very hard break up that ended a 7-year relationship, which I thought were meant to be there forever. And just like you I chose to focus on the positive sides, on myself, on how this whole messed up situation somehow will work for the best one day. So I set a goal to listen to what I want and go for it no matter what because I felt like for the first time I had that magical time to be there for myself and no longer only for someone else. And guess what... This determination to see a positive side and to focus on me one day very unexpectedly lead me to a person who is now my fiancé. And I'm so thankful for this past relationship because if not for it, I wouldn't be where I am right now. One day it'll all make sense! Sending you a virtual hug and strength ❤️

I've had so much weird and scary change, a lot of that needs triggerwarnings, but the scariest change is what I'm facing right now: safety. I completed university, I'm in a loving relationship, living in a great home and I'm completely safe and happy in my life. My brain is goin haywire, trying to process this new situation but finding meaning in every little act and finding gratefulness for the bad things that brought me here today is keeping me sane. That is the way I find faith. Thank you for the video, I always watch but rarely comment

As someone who's been through a lot of grief at a relatively young age, here is some stuff I've learned:
1. You are constantly changing, before-event you ia different from post-event you, and this change is usually proportional to the significance of the event (Newton's law, for every action there's an equal opposite reaction)
2. You're in control of a lot of how you grow out of trauma. You can decide, to some degree, to cope healthily and cope in a way that genuinely helps YOU as a person. I was never equipped with the idea that coping will happen, so I was just kind of paused and assumed it would work itself out. Everybody's different, so take the time to explore what helps you the most. Everything in life can be seen as an opportunity if you truly want it to. There is always the first layer of your natural reaction, then second, what you decide to do with it.
3. People can be incredibly kind, you just have to let them know/help. People, teachers, bosses, friends, etc often have no clue how to deal with someone else's loss/trauma/etc, but if you advocate for yourself (the hardest part), they are often willing to make a win-win adapted situation. The flip side of that is nobody else will truly understand the degree of your loss, and that's okay
4. It is not your duty/responsibility to be somebody's legacy/continue where they left off. Be you. The things you learned from them will stay with you, do what you need to remember them, but from your perspective. Ideas live a lot longer than humans sometimes
5. Take care of yourself. Be kind, you have experienced a lot, which can put future stressors into perspective.
Hopefully this helps someone 💛 again for anyone who's experienced grief, I'm so sorry 💛 what you'll learn will probably look different but I thought I'd put some of the things that help me 💛 good luck everyone have a good day

I just came out of a very long relationship and honestly dealt with the whole situation believing that it was a matter of destiny, and that there was nothing I could do about what happened, but I was still able to do something about I lived my present and my future.. now I am happier than before and embracing all the small things and opportunities that life and the universe in general are throwing at me and that I obviously just wasn't noticing before! Second, you said there are good and bad times since the break up and one thing I wanted to share with you is scientists think they have found the key to happiness. Gratitude. They did a study that when individuals showed gratification to the people who are most important to them in their life, their happiness increased by at least 19%. The scientists had the individuals write a letter about a special someone in their life who has influenced them the most and after writing page after page, the individuals were surprised when they had to call the person they wrote about and read them the letter. Hey Kalyn, I just needed to explain why this video is so important to me. I spend most of my time beating myself up for not being good enough, smart enough, thin enough, pretty enough, etc. I constantly feel like I am useless and everyone else around me is dealing with everything so much better than me, or not dealing with anything bad at all.
But watching this video, I realized that people do go thru hard shit sometimes, no matter who they are. I thought because you were so positive and happy that you just coast thru bad things and make it unscathed. Maybe you do, but there is no doubt that getting thru it is hard.
I guess what I am trying to say is thank you for showing me that even you go thru hard times because sometimes its easy to forget.
You help so many people with all of your videos, and I know I always feel better after watching them so thank you for that too 💜

My sister is getting married in two weeks and being her MOH has been impossible because she hasn't been easy to deal with at all, two days after that I leave for Nicaragua on a mission trip with my church which will be intense as hell because they are having their own issues this last week (look up an article, its absolutely insane), and aside from that I just went through a break up which happened for the exact reasons that yours did. Speaking of fears I get really really scared of clowns. If you want to know why well here it is. A very long time ago when I was really little I went to a Halloween carnival and we had a friend who was dressed up like a clown and he scared the hell out of me. My parents thought it was some kind of a Halloween joke but it wasn’t. I was really upset and very sad that I started to cry. And now today I am still really really scared of clowns

I've been through alot this year, I've been suffering from an acute anxiety and stress because i've faced a big fail last summer in my studies, I passed the class but not with the grades that I worked for and I wanted.Fortunately, I discovered you this year and I've strated to be an addict to your videos, whenever I watch one of yours I feel a kind of peace of mind because all of the positive vibes that you're giving off also I've never thought that I will start doing Yoga or feel that kind of Zen I mean I've never believed in that. Like she said, look at it as meant to be. Moving away was the best thing that happened to me. You get to know yourself in so many ways. Even though leaving old friends may be hard, you all will stay in touch if you prioritate it. You gonna go on so many new adventures, and meet so many new great people, that it hopefully creates more fullfilment. Don’t hold on to the past to much, but get excited over whats in store. I hope you got something out of my rambling.

I’m so happy to hear that the breakup went so well. It’s almost startling when that happens. I was with someone I love dearly for 5 years and while we are still best friends, we broke up a few months ago. While it was still hard it too was such a healthy breakup. I was proud of us. I’ve never gone through a break up quite like it.
I moved out, repainted the room in the new apartment, started painting/ drawing again, started a monthly reading challenge and I’m facing my writing procrastination/block and fears of putting myself out there by challenging myself to start a blog ❤️ and I really don’t know if I would be nearly so positive and excited about it without your videos motivating me and making me feel like I’ve got this! Girl, I love all of your videos, but this one... I've literally been going through very hard changes I feel I can't handle for the past couple of days and this came at the perfect time. I've been feeling like I'm right at the edge of breaking and falling emotionally to a place where it's gonna be hard to get out of. You have all my respect for being positive and filming a happy uplifting video even when you're going through crap, you are amazing. I logically know we all are powerful beings and in the end, we can handle anything life throws at us. Emotionally, I'm afraid though. But like you said, we'll know what the change was good for only by looking back at it, when we get through it. That's my problem now - I'm standing before a decision that I'm being forced to and whatever way I decide to go it's gonna be hard, and again, logically, both options could be sent to me by the Universe to teach me a lesson I need to learn, it's just so hard to choose. Thank you for making this video and posting it after I've been desperately praying for advice for a day or two. Now I'm feeling so much calmer, because honestly, a couple months from now, this will be long past even being a thing. It's just hard to take a step back and see the situation for what it is when we're still in the middle of it.
