    Hi D-Ray, being a mechanic myself I watched most of your videos about the Honda TRX300 and I have to admit that they are the best that I have watched. They are well detailed, excellent explanations, excellent quality of videos ultimately Very Professional. Congratulations on your good work!

    I know of three Honda four wheelers that are running well as a direct result of your videos. They belong to friends and family. I'm not sure what the local repair shops would have charged, but I'm guessing the $$ savings is up around $400.00 in labor alone.

    Great video. There is a passage to the left of the float through the carb body that ends in a brass tube. It is blocked and I can't get to it to clean it. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks

  • @Oldxlineman
    @Oldxlineman 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have followed your instructions and still have a problem, most likely operator error. 98 honda fourtrax had been sitting a long time. Gas tank was shot so got a new plastic one. Even the plastic ones are pricey. At first it would not idle, pulled the carb & soaked cleaned it.Now it idles but will not take a fast uptake on the throttle. Fast forward, re cleaned and installed a carb kit. I have tried adjusting the low speed jet and it seems to have little effect. It will stop the engine when screwed all the way in. No matter where it's adjusted the engine stutters and wants to die. If I give it throttle very easy it will speed up. I now have the carb all the way apart and soaking in carb cleaner again, don't know what else to do. Getting awful tired of putting it in and out. About to pull my hair out. I sure hope you have some thoughts on what to do. I have watched many videos trying to figure it out, about to give up. Thanks

    Have you ever noticed where your float valve seats and there is also an additional looks like a rubber oring down inside were the float valve seats and this ethanol is swelling it up and not letting bowl fill with fuel is there a way to get that o-ring out with out damaging carb there must be cause someone somewhere put it in there this happens a lot on small engines like my log splitter and I have to get new carb every year

    DRay. I was cleaning my carb on 2004 Foreman S. When I blew it out there was a part that flew out where the mixture screw goes. It looks to be where the tip of screw goes it. Any idea how to get that part back in the carb. I cannot get the mixture screw back in the carb. Thanks for any advice you have. The part is in the rebuild kit as well.

    Question, my 97 fourtrax 300fw is running fine when you start it up but when you give it gas it sputters and backfires. What exactly would cause this? I’ve cleaned the carburetor and it’s still doing it. Is it the slide needle that I need to adjust? Please let me know.

  • @keeganfoster1792
    @keeganfoster1792 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Now i had my bike lifted from the back quite high to weld the frame rails and paint the bottom. I drained the carb of all gas and shut the fuel off completely so no gas would leak out. It was lifted for about a week i finished the bottom and put it down i turned the gas on and gas ran right through the carb i took carb off made sure float was okay and working fine it is from what i can tell seems to work perfect then when i have the carb bowl back on and i fill with gas runs right through again. Needle is perfectly clean floats have no gas in them the floats move up and down perfect. Also this carb is brand new oem honda carb put on 2-3 years ago the inside looks brand new the floats are still even white. Anyone have suggestions?!

    That "Honda" jet cleaning kit is nothing more than a renamed cheap tip cleaner set for oxy/acetylene torch nozzles.

    • @DRaysShop
      @DRaysShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wrong, a torch tip cleaner set has serrated wires for cleaning slag, steel, and other debris from a torch. The Honda jet cleaners are smooth, so they will not ream or change the jet size...But do feel free to run one of those thru your carb's jets, and once you're done with that, throw them away and get new ones cause you just reamed them out and they are no longer the correct jet size...

    • @mw5905
      @mw5905 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DRaysShop Ya gotta admit they must come off nearly the same assembly line, except don't put the ridges in the wires.
