My dad bought an HP 14-dq0070nr and now, weeks later, he says it's slow and wants me to make it fast. I disabled S-mode in Windows 11 and increased the RAM from 4GB to 8GB. I see that it only has a 64 GB eMMC as a storage device and I would like to add an SSD drive of larger size and greater speed. I don’t see an M.2 slot on this motherboard but I do see that there is space for a 2.5" drive in the lower left corner. This being a different model than the one in the video, I have the following questions: 1. Will the upgrade parts mentioned in this video (#L23219-001 and#L23187-001) work for 14-dq0070nr? HP doesn't make it easy to find the answer. 2. After the SSD is installed, can I then clone the original system drive (eMMC) to the new SSD and make it the new system drive? Thank you kindly in advance for any help you can give me.

holy crap, ive literally been searching the globe to find out how to put it in, some tutorials said remove the casing from the ssd, im like what casing i dont have any casing i just have a free ssd from micro center but this is the closest one i found that can actually work, i just need to find that adapter thingamagig and im good

Regarding your question, no my friend you can only have one NVME in this laptop , get a gen 4 nvme and if in the future you can plug it into the new laptop or pc that you buy.

Good afternoon. Can you please tell me if there are any settings in the BIOS? I have an 8pin connector, but my laptop does not see the SSD disk. HP 14s-dq4001ny. As far as I understand, 8pin is intended for a fingerprint scanner, and there are restrictions in the BIOS, how can they be removed?
look for older firmware bios, we download sometimes older versions of the bios with hdd firmware in it.

Regarding your question, power off the laptop, and open the cover and disconnect the battery and remove the rams and press and hold the power on for 30sec then let go and plug-in the rams and plug-in the battery and then then charger and power on and wait up to 15sec.

It may be that you have a broken RAM or something like that, then it does not start every time you remove the battery

I installed the nvme but can't find my disk, the nvme disk has installed with Operating system but when i plugged the disk, the emmc is the default ope system.

Any chance you could point me into the right direction with getting a hdd cable for this laptop? HP Laptop 14s-fq0443no (Ryzen 5 4500u) I cannot find a matching cable based on the model number, but I know for sure that it is a 8 pin cable that it requires and it looks identical to what you show on the video, though the linked cable that you provided is 10 pin one?

regarding your question: its 8pin to board but the 10 pin still works with it we have tested and had no issue im assuming those two extra pin on cable is ground too. but if you want the 8pin here is a 8pin, even if the model is not your they are compatible: shorturl.at/ahwTZ

Hello sir, first of all, thank you for sharing this video on youtube it was very helpful to me. I would like to ask, in adding an internal storage like the one you mentioned in the video the ssd sata, do I need to buy a mounting port or metallic bracket just so i can place my ssd sata and it won't be movable? I'm really worried that it needs to have the mounting tray/port so that it won't be shaky when i carry it with me my laptop. Thank you sir for the response.

The HP maintenance manual shows that the 8-pin connector is for an optional fingerprint reader cable, not for a SATA hard drive. This could be why it does not work when people try connecting hard drives to it.
we do install additional storage on that port, and the finger print that is a USB lane is the other connector neat the m.2 screw.

I followed your video, i bought a cable ls-h323p/15s-dy using your link for the additional hdd, it connected properly in the 8 pin cable and the hdd, but when i open the laptop, it was not recognize, no additional hdd install😩
did you double check the connected that is inserted all the way inside the jack, we do this upgrade all the time in the store and we never had an issue. count the pins on your connector of motherboard side and make sure the flex cable has the same amount of connectors.

its very rare that not working for you we do this all the time in the store for clients, without any issue. i would recommend you use a different adapter, maybe something is wrong or defective. we never had any issues.
i have HP Laptop 14-fq0041nr(with AMD 3020e) CPU don't have PCIe lanes for NVME drive, it's only support M.2 SATA, which is big shame on HP for not mentioned it in the product page, I waste time/money and at the end I bought the wrong storage ., I swap my NVME SSD with SATA one and it's works perfectly now.

@@uFixTek It definitely is a different model than the one featured in this video. I've been looking for a video with instructions to upgrade the storage device for my hp 14-dq0070nr. The closest I have found is this video of a similar hp 14 series. I cannot see an m.2 slot on the motherboard but it there is room inside the case for a 2.5" drive.
yes there may be space bit if you don't have the jack for 2.5' there is no point trying fitting anything in there :(

🫠Regarding your question, count the connector pins on the jack, to make sure you get the right cable because they use 8pin and sometimes 12pin cables. we used this: amzn.to/3JNgZlq

Regarding your question, when you say that, you need to expand what you mean and what you did!, did you replace the main hdd with ssd (2.5') or did you just add a m.2 ssd ? and it doesn't show in "my computer" as extra partition? ... need more details
