How to upgrade SATA SSD to NVMe SSD in HP 14" laptop

- I have a brand new HP 14" Touchscreen Laptop that I will be upgrading the factory SATA SSD to a new Crucial NVMe SSD, and doing clean Windows 10 Install.

New subscriber. Really appreciate you uploading all these videos. This is an old video, but its exactly what i was looking for. Sata to NVMe. Gave me the confidence to upgrade my laptop I've had since 2018 and save me from sending $ on a new laptop.

i will be doing RAM and NvME upgrade on my newly purchased HP 14-cf2504sa which comes with 4GB ram and 256GB NvMe. I am also planning to insert a 2,5 SATA, I have already ordered the SATA cable and caddy for it.

i got a question: i have a 14-bf058tx that has a 128gb sata m.2 and a 1tb HDD. can I replace the 128gb sata SSD with an nvme (1tb) one? the online manual of hp says page not found so I don't know if it will work

I tried to swap an M.2 SATA for a M.2 NVMe on my laptop. The bios clearly recognizes the nvme drive but won't let me boot at all. Just blue screen errors.
I have no idea what settings I should change in the BIOS. Any help greatly appreciated.
Did you clone, or do a clean windows install?
@@CadillacComputerCenter I did a clone using Macrium Reflect. I know the PC can take NVMe drives but swapping in the NVMe it just won't boot
Hi, I have a new Lenovo IdeaPad3 when I use F2 to get into the bios the laptop freezes. When I try the F11 for boot options the same thing happens. Any ideas on fixing this. Thanks in advance.

Hello, just watched your video because I have a very similar laptop, model hp-14fq0057nr. It came with 64 gig emmc and 4 gig ram, I upgraded to 16 gig ram and 500 gb crucial p5 plus PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 ssd but for some reason I cannot locate the drive. Everything was installed just like you but the laptop simply will not find the drive, the ram works just fine but I cannot find the ssd, not on device manager or anything, I am completely lost. Any Help would be greatly appreciated, if you are close to Miami I would be willing to take you the laptop, if not, any info would be awesome. I assume maybe the computer is not compatible? Although it had to spot for it and looks just like this one. Thanks, great content.
Hi. Is your windows still on the emmc drive? If it is, go into disk management to see if it is there. If so you will have to initialize it.
@@CadillacComputerCenter I did but the laptop does not recognize it. It does not appear at all anywhere under memory.
@@CadillacComputerCenter also windows is still on emmc drive C. I was trying to do a clone with arconis software from crucials website but it just does not see the ssd at all.
Hi guys, Absolutely same issue here...I have heard the m.2 is disabled for some folks...my hp model is 14 dk0010ca and also has a 64 gb emmc.
Some people talk about getting the advanced bios menu unlocked...if u google this option which is present in their commercial bios systems and js unlocked for those systems, there is an option to enable the m.2 slot and also to configure the type of controllers, sata, raid, etc.
@@chrispbacon002 we may need to unlock the advanced option by using some key combinations...if u find anything online or via hp, please do let me know...I'll do the same from my side

You won't want to update to an NVMe because if you do there is no way to re-install the OS. Media creation tools like the ones from Microsoft, ChromeOS or Linux won't recognize the NVMe as a real hard drive.
That apu could use some dual channel ram
Sure I have a laptop very similar and say 14-dk0077nr Also made by HP. I looked online to how many gigs of RAM it can accept cuz it came with a a single chip with 8 gigs of RAM on it but has a spot for a second. So I got the exact same kind exact same kind of ram to double it up basically. I did everything correctly I opened up the back and installed the ram close it all back up When I turn the computer on it does not recognize it at all online on the HP website it says it does accept up to 16 gigs of RAM so why doesn't it work I don't understand maybe you know something that I don't if you can't answer I understand too
