    Thanks for the awesome mod! First off, I tried with a 100 mm RC damper. It wasn't bad, but the 140 mm dampers are a bit better and easier to install (not moving that much).

  • @Di011
    @Di011 ปีที่แล้ว

    Big thanks. I did try this mod. I ended up buying a 3d lrinter to print the parts, i know lol. But i went to different hardware stores and couldn't source them, tried a few 3d prjnting services but they wanted about 80 bucks, so i got a used 3d printer for about that price and i am so happy with the result. I did use the stiffer spring you listed, it's a must. This does feel way better now.
    But if i were to do this again i would have just bought it premade from you from ebay. But i guess it was somewhat satisfying to put this together myself.
    So now thinking of putting the threadlocker to avoid leaking

  • @jonferraez
    @jonferraez 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Awesome, thanks for reviewing it. I have it installed on my throttle and standard brake (same as your set but without any 3D printed parts, as you can source everything from the two major USA hardware stores locally for $9 USD per pedal including those bolts, nuts, washers and all the insert rods, and the pair of RC dampers from Ali for $12 USD shipped, for two pedals this DIY mod comes to $30 USD, and is very worth it). I like how the RC dampers are adjustable for the spring strength with the adjustment knob. The CSL Pedals standard (with this DIY mod on the throttle and brake) are my backup pedal set now after I purchased Heusinkveld Sprints recently (super impressed by them, talk about quality and adjustability, and are quite a few levels better). I probably could not go back to CSL Pedals standard now that is for sure! I would need to have this DIY mod installed on it of course even if I had to go back to it one day.

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, it's a simple mod you could easily bash together the same thing without a 3D printer. You can't go wrong with a set of Heusinkveld pedals, excellent choice, Jon.👍‍

Do you have any suggestions on what I should do/ use to mod my lc brakes on the Csl Elite. Again I'm very impressed with your work. Cheers.

    Great video, would you say in terms of price to performance there’s any major reason to go for something like the SRE mod for a casual sim racer? Or does a mod like this suffice? Only wondering as something like this is only £12 as opposed to the 50 that the SRE mod would cost

      I’ve just bought a couple for the accelerator and clutch. When I compress them I feel the spring is rubbing/clipping the shock which makes it quite loud and annoying.
      What would you suggest?
      It was also recommended to buy 100cst and 300cst shock oil. What would you recommend regarding filling up on which.

    Love this mod, feels much better and easier to gauge when cornering. Be sure to use threadlocker on the bottom nut in order to prevent leaks. The spacer helps shorten the throw and hopefully means prolonging the life of the shock as only using it to 70% of capacity

    I did this mod to the throttle and clutch as i have the load cell brake a few months back and has worked great. I also ordered a set of stiffer springs. Depending on the quality of your shocks the throttle will eventually leak i assume due to the constant foot pressure. Have not experienced that with the clutch to a severe degree. Dont like the 3d printed replacement spring perch as it does take away 30% of your throttle length. Overall a good mod for the money.
