Glad to hear! - The port issue is most likely because of people tugging the cables and cable managing them too tight, causing strain on the weakly soldered ports and causing them to come out. As for the collar, it happens because of the vibrations the wheelbase sends through the shaft, and since it is only secured on one side, it loosens and wiggles it's way out. Hope this helps, and I'm hapy to hear you aren't having isues like the rest of us!

Looking for a completely different setup for a sim-rig than a heavily adapted G27, I went with a second hand CSL GT DD Pro (I hope I say that right). The seller I bought it from allowed me to play some games. It was WILD to experience the exact feeling I had in driving school for a regular car when loosing grip (my instructor took me to a parking lot without curbs after it had snowed quite a bit, and made me speed up and he would randomly pull the parking brake). While it hasn't been in use for racing (bus/truck-sim rig setup), feeling the force I felt on a coach I had a test lesson on is quite the experience. The only reason the adapted G27 went out the door is because of the fact it was already broken when I got it (a colleague I got it from asked me to check it out, it had a tendency to loose center, so I thought a broken encoder disc only, but it was quite a bit worse on the inside, the wheel had been played HARD). Even though there was an old bicycle headset attached to it so the heavy weight of the truck wheel that was mounted on it would not have all the forces exerted on the G27 itself, the truck wheel itself was way to heavy to be put in motion at autocalibration (You had to help it, which...well, was not practical). I only have had the clamp shift with a slight click, but that is the only thing. But obviously, my wheelbase is not getting used to it's extremes.

Fanatec as a product is actually top quality, nothing wrong with it and it works fine. There will always be the odd issue with someone but overall, a very good brand. In my opinion, they are better than every other racing brand because of the widely supported wheels and wheelbases for consoles. Yes, there are issues regarding customer service and so on, but everything else is top notch!

coming up on a year of QR1 Lite. no problems. no cracking, popping, creaking, nothing. It’s fine if you’re not literally pulling on your wheel as hard as you can.
Fanatec should stop selling the QR1 with this wheelbase. Once I made the switch to the QR2, all trepidations about the quick release went away. The QR2 is rock solid! Too bad the new QR causes a markup on all of their steering wheels. An attractive price like the Clubsport F1 E-Sports' $220.00 price becomes a souring $320.00. A steering wheel I really want, the Clubsport RS ($300.00) is now a $400.00 purchase. Sorry but I don't think the RS is a $400.00 wheel even with the QR2. They are not doing themselves any favors with the QR2 tax. Oh well... And if you do get a CSL-DD or a GTDD Pro, do yourself a favor and get a torque wrench. Torque the bolt on the collar down to spec and you'll never have the wheel unplug on you while racing. Also you should install it on to a sturdy wheel stand at the very least, and leave it there until you either sell it or upgrade to a cockpit. When I got my CSL DD I put it on my GT Omega Apex wheel stand, and not once did I remove it from the stand. I also didn't have to remove the RJ12 cable to my pedals since I initially installed them. No jack problems for me, and I frequently fold the stand and put it away when I am not racing. What I am saying is, a fairly permanent installation will mitigate 99% of the RJ jack issues.

I have had my CSL DD for just a bit under a year, with the old quick release and the cheapest plastic QR1. I did not beat it up as some people did, I will admit that, I never had enough time to simrace consistently, over the year I've put just a couple hundred hours in various sims, mainly iRacing. I don't have the 8nm booster, just the default 5nm one and I haven't experienced any problems with my wheel and the quick release itself. No crackling, no loose wheel, it works fine. I will, however, buy the whole QR2 conversion kit when I eventually buy the 8nm booster. Overall I am pretty happy with it, it's my first simracing wheelbase ever so I might not have much comparison, but the quality of the shaft and the ports in my case is good, and I can't even complain about the plastic QR1. The only issue here that somewhat affected me was the long shipping. I did actually place my order a bit before the black friday sale so it didn't take THAT long as I live right next to Germany, but it was quite slow as compared to anything I have ever ordered that wasn't from China lol.
I just ordered my first csl DD the other day. Then I found out about the bankruptcy thing. Hoping it doesnt affect me too much. I'm glad to hear that you're happy with yours, that makes me feel a ton better about buying one. I've been using the T150 TM and it's actually been a great wheel. At the moment I'm on the old fanatec csl ps4/pc base. When I bought it the problem with the FFB has issues with 100% it shuts down. So I have to turn it down to 35%/ 45% to even play. Not a big deal but I wished it worked properly. So I am excited about the upgrade. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts with us. Cheers & happy simracing.
You can tighten the collar on the wheelbase shaft for now, and try to buy a dual screw clamp on Etsy or eBay - Even Fanatec does this with their newer wheelbases, so it seems like the best course of action
Yeahh, on the fence to buy a new wheel for my CSL DD. Just uncertainty on how Fanatec is now coming onto a clear path from the current mess is keeping me from actually buying. Don't want to hand over my hard earned cash and be in jeopardy of having anything delivered from them.
Very true! - I hope it Changes for all of our sakes… , For now when people ask me ( on TikTok ) what they should buy, I can’t recommend Fanatec as much as I would love to… :/
My Fanatec purchases were earlier this year. I had three separate purchases, they all came through very quickly. I am very pleased with the products I bought and would buy again. Not purchasing will be what will kill Fanatec. Some TH-cam channels probably have hurt the situation, when things would have probably been better if they had just kept their mouths shut. Also some people have to jump on the hate bandwagon even if they have no skin in the game. They situation with getting the license from Sony taking longer did not help.
@@oldgeezerstoybox you know what, I agree with you and just to back it up - I put skin in the game despite my initial hesitation and ordered the McLaren wheel. It took one business day processing and I have a UPS shipping number due for today. The operational end is performing and even beating expectation. It's a company with great products - hope they sort out the management issues soon and carry on strong.
hi mate, do yo have a review on the new fanatec CSW DD+?? qr2 and everything.. is it possible or suggested to buy one now with the fanatec/crossair changes in this weeks??
Hello! Unfortunately not, since I'm not partnered with Fanatec nor have any ties to them.. Though I can give My two cents on the situation, as a long term fanatec customer! :) - To be honest, I actually have heard good things about Fanatec actually sending out products as of recent. With people in My community receiving their stuff, for the most part, within a week or two. Though You do have to take into account that those stories were from a few weeks ago, and I'm not sure If I'd quite trust fanatec while they transition just Yet. I'd wait for word on either reddit or from @Kireth on TH-cam to see if people are actually receiving their stuff once everything with corsair has smoothened out. Plus there are bound to be a ( probably not HUGE but still sizable ) sale on black friday! :) - Hope this helps, and if You still feel Unsure, feel free to ask around! 😁
Just use the stuff, as long as it works everything is fine. But beware if something breaks, like my CSL DD base after 3-4 times of playing, it always turns off and smells burnt. Fanatec support cannot be reached by phone, opened a ticket, nobody answers. Sent a registered letter with a deadline for repair/replacement, no response either. As long as the stuff works it's really great, but unfortunately this is already my 2nd base that has broken down. The first one was repaired under warranty a few years ago, now with a table clamp and QR2 module I've spent almost €500 for 3-4 times of playing. I've already informed a lawyer, who said wait a bit and then he'll get involved. It's really sad that you can only enforce your rights as a consumer with a lawyer. That is not how it works, Fanatec!
Hi guys, I have been wanting to order a Fanatec for a while now and about 12 days ago I decided it was time to order. Unfortunately the CSL DD 5Nm with the F1 wheel was out of stock, and now 12 days later it still says it is out of stock and it feels impossible to get any sort of information about when it will be available again (Europe). Does anyone know something or know how one can figure out when they will start selling them again?
i never had the problem with the wheel disconnecting like in your video but i bought an upgraded collar that tightens from the left side and the right side have never had an issue fingers crossed althou i do agree with the clips that go into the back of the base they are so poor for the price fanatec charge people i thought that was one of the biggest letdowns with the base but must say i lv mine aftera few mods i was well happy hopefully they get thier shit togeather would be a shame to lose fanatec
I think you should buy the g29 because you don’t have to spend so much money and when you are having fun you can always sell the g29 and upgrade to the cls dd
@@TheSunIsMyDestroyerif you want, logitech itself does official refurbished sales and its much cheaper on their website. Last i checked it was like $200~ for the g923 bundle with shifter
I think the plastic release is the buyers fault. Especially if they are using more than 5 Nm. Stop being cheap and get the QR1 or QR2 which is made for 15 Nm or more.
DO NOT BUY A DD LESS THAN 15 NM BUT IDEALLY 20 NM TO BE SET FOR A LONG TIME DRIVING ANY CAR. I purchased the CSL DD 8nm like 6 months before the larger DDs dropped and coming from a T-300 it is so much better. But I would say 3 months later and I knew I am still missing out of a lot of details. The 8nm DD dosen't feel the same with a BMW GT2 rim as it does the with GT7 rim it came with. Solid rims which are bigger need more force to transfer the accurate FFB and I feel like I do not get the exact same feelings using this wheel like I do the smaller plastic GT7 wheel. I am going to be getting a 20nm DD next. I might actually switch to Simucube 2 pro and get the Mod to use my Fanatec wheels on this DD.
To be honest, after recently receiving a Cammus DDWB and Cammus C12 for review ( spoiler? I guess? ) I can definitely agree that 8nm is not enough. The Cammus C12 feels somehow stronger than the 15nm DDWB, and I run that at 80%. Anything more is overkill
You need to make sure the rig it is attached to is completely solid. In every video you show it is shaking the rig it’s attached to. This is a main cause of your issues
I've since figured out why that was the case, and resolved it - The wheeldeck wasn't screwed in completely on one side, causing some slight wobble.. Ty for the help though!
This is the GT-DD ( PlayStation compatible CSL DD - The actual hardware is identical, only difference being the outer casing/design, and the PlayStation compatibility :)
The DD or DD Pro, or GT DD and GT DD Pro are identical in hardware. The GT version allows for more game console support than the regular version which only allows PC and I think also XBox support (this last one, I think depends on the wheel installed). Appending the Pro means: A more powerful power supply. In hardware other than the power supply nothing changes.
@@Phantom096 I understand your misplaced frustrations, but I do put a disclaimer at the start of my videos for a reason 🤷 " This video has not been endorsed by Endor AG or any third party in any way ", which includes companies outside of Fanatec :) - Maybe do some research before making your comment(s). Hope you enjoyed the video regardless!
The only issuebi have with Fanatec is that stupid collusion with sony or PD on having to buy a pro inorder to be compatible with PS5 for GT7 -_- Keep the chips in the actual steering wheel not the base. Their full force hasnt been even implemented in GT7 or any other PS games... whats the point? Wheres the value?
I do have to admit that the actual monetary value of the GT-DD and all PlayStation compatible Fanatec bases aren’t the best. I think that the chips being in the base make it better for compatibility, as you can use all wheelrims ( new and even old ) with the wheelbase. Same with if you want to use a third party wheelrim ( drift wheelrim or karting wheelrim, etc. ) using an SRM emulator on console, you don’t need to have a fanatec wheelrim to do that :D
I wouldn’t buy anything from fanatec anymore! I’ve had 3 full fanatec sim rigs through the 8 full rigs I’ve had! Moza r9 is better then fanatec 5-8nm base Moza r12 over fanatec new clubsport dd 12 Simagic alpha 15nm over clubsport 12nm or dd+ 15nm Moza or simagic beats fanatec hands down. Moza and simagic have better bases, wheels that are actually backlit buttons, pedals, shifters, handbrakes! Fanatec is just so far behind and focused on making $1500 wheels that work in a real race car that no actual human owns! That should have been like a 1 of 1 wheels for fanatec or the actual race car drivers! Fanatec needs to make more reliable products that suit what there customers actually want!
would you recommend the moza r5? was looking at that one instead of this or a thrustmaster 300 rs, thanks for any tips! cool you’ve had so many setups!
If you do, they do sell quite well as second hand items. Try to picture the pins of the wheels clearly so you can show people that they are undamaged. When I sold some of the wheels I got in a second hand set (it's used for a sim-rig setup that doesn't see a lot of racing so racing wheels are not exactly useful to me) 2 buyers of the wheels I sold mentioned they liked the clear pictures of the pins. When looking at second hand sets (this was back in May 2023, so quite a while back) it wasn't uncommon to see an add for a set gone within hours of getting placed.
@Sim_Pulse so far, it's been a fantastic buy. Just sold my R5 bundle and I'm now waiting on my R9 to get here on Wednesday. I hope Fanatec survives this and comes back stronger. They really have been at the forefront of affordable DDs and a fantastic ecosystem.
Buying anything from Fanatec at this point seems like a bad idea. They have been pissing in their customers faces for years and will moste likely go bankrupt in the near future
That’s fair :) - Cammus and like you previously mentioned Simagic both have fantastic options for the midrange sim market! Alpha mini is defo a good choice atm.
With a company like Asetek there's zero chance that I'd ever buy a Fanatec. Just listening to the CEO's can tell you which company is better to buy from.

5:40 MEE too, how do i fix this Fanatec denied me
You can tighten the collar on the wheelbase shaft for now, and try to buy a dual screw clamp on Etsy or eBay - Even Fanatec does this with their newer wheelbases, so it seems like the best course of action

- To be honest, I actually have heard good things about Fanatec actually sending out products as of recent.
Hope this helps, and if You still feel Unsure, feel free to ask around! 😁
I thought I was watching a high count sub channel. Absolutely great quality mate keep it up
Tysm!
Its in stock
@@fiszekfiszkowy4992 yeah it literally did today haha
@@fiszekfiszkowy4992yep saw that, ordered mine last night!
Just upgraded from a csl elite that i put 6,000 hours on without any issue
i never had the problem with the wheel disconnecting like in your video but i bought an upgraded collar that tightens from the left side and the right side have never had an issue fingers crossed althou i do agree with the clips that go into the back of the base they are so poor for the price fanatec charge people i thought that was one of the biggest letdowns with the base but must say i lv mine aftera few mods i was well happy hopefully they get thier shit togeather would be a shame to lose fanatec
Would you say now is a good time to buy? The csl dd just restocked and it looks like a promising deal.
I’d recommend you watch @kireth ‘s video on Fanatec’s current insolvency / bankruptcy before you go further :/
Does this base work with ps5
had mine well over a year been brilliant pedals not so good but base an rims love them
Couldn’t agree more haha - making a video on the CSL Pedals now… safe to say they aren’t the best 😅

My man! 🫡
Been ordering products last month, delivered fast, costumer support quick reply and helpful. well.... what ca i say?
csl dd bundle or g29, no experience with racing sim so far but i like truck sim
I think you should buy the g29 because you don’t have to spend so much money and when you are having fun you can always sell the g29 and upgrade to the cls dd
@@henk_man2417 that makes sense ty
@@TheSunIsMyDestroyerif you want, logitech itself does official refurbished sales and its much cheaper on their website. Last i checked it was like $200~ for the g923 bundle with shifter
I think the plastic release is the buyers fault. Especially if they are using more than 5 Nm. Stop being cheap and get the QR1 or QR2 which is made for 15 Nm or more.
Have zero issues would still recommend it to everyone who goes into serious simracing
Nothing wrong with mine!
Great quality vid u will blow up soon
Thank You! Let's hope so 😅🤞
my wheelbase stopped working last week....
Butbis this the DD or DD pro ?
This is the GT-DD ( PlayStation compatible CSL DD - The actual hardware is identical, only difference being the outer casing/design, and the PlayStation compatibility :)
The DD or DD Pro, or GT DD and GT DD Pro are identical in hardware. The GT version allows for more game console support than the regular version which only allows PC and I think also XBox support (this last one, I think depends on the wheel installed).
Appending the Pro means: A more powerful power supply. In hardware other than the power supply nothing changes.
I think this review has something to do with competition with uk made and American made.
? - Fanatec is neither American nor UK made?
Even if they were…. That isn’t the point of the review? 👁👄👁

The wobble in your base is unreal 😅
The only issuebi have with Fanatec is that stupid collusion with sony or PD on having to buy a pro inorder to be compatible with PS5 for GT7 -_-
Keep the chips in the actual steering wheel not the base.
@Sim_Pulse I have CM drive hub and a GT SW and the MDF's sticks are inop but can be mapped into other games, unfortunately not in GT7.
and the video was nteresting and usefull:)
Thanks! Glad you like it :)
Fanatec wounded themselves long back. Moza and Simagic went in for the kill and succeeded.
I wouldn’t buy anything from fanatec anymore! I’ve had 3 full fanatec sim rigs through the 8 full rigs I’ve had!
Moza r9 is better then fanatec 5-8nm base
Moza r12 over fanatec new clubsport dd 12
Simagic alpha 15nm over clubsport 12nm or dd+ 15nm
Moza or simagic beats fanatec hands down.
I suppose that makes my DD Pro set up quite valuable then. Time to flog me thinks.
When looking at second hand sets (this was back in May 2023, so quite a while back) it wasn't uncommon to see an add for a set gone within hours of getting placed.
ouch.... that damage looks nasty in the intro
😬 - and that’s only half of the images I had saved 🫡
I almost regretted buying into the Moza eco-system instead of Fanatec. Almost. Lol
Tried a Moza R9 with the KS rim the other day - It’s so good… Hope you are enjoying your MOZA gear! :)
@@PJDobbsmoza is 1000 times better then fanatec!
@SIMRIG412 I can only comment on what I see online. I've honestly never seen or used anything Fanatec, so I can't say anything good or bad.
Buying anything from Fanatec at this point seems like a bad idea. They have been pissing in their customers faces for years and will moste likely go bankrupt in the near future
I wouldn’t be surprised if even after their buyouts, they can’t manage to keep themselves afloat 🫡
@@Sim_Pulse Yeah, I think you´re right about that, they will probably crash and burn

With a company like Asetek there's zero chance that I'd ever buy a Fanatec. Just listening to the CEO's can tell you which company is better to buy from.

Entirely valid! It’s a great wheelbase, though haunted by it’s issues :(
@@Sim_Pulse I bought a second hand set, the seller took great care of it. A necessary not to add: it's primarily used in truck/bus simulation, so far from pushing the limits on the thing.
It's been a breeze to switch on each and every time though compared to the heavily modified G27 I used prior :P (There is a real truck wheel of 48 cm's in diameter mounted to it).
