I bought the cheapest "gaming" branded pre-built from Best Buy to see if it's any good. It's not the worst thing ever, but it's pretty expensive.
Buy one of the awesome Ekster Wallets that I show in the video here:
    shop.ekster.com/dawid
    Looking for some Noob-friendly, Dawid-Approved T-shirts? Shop here: dawiddoesmerch.com/
    - and yes, there is a Loser Nitro Suck-Face Collection :D dawiddoesmerch.com/collection...
Check out the video where I look at the crap-built I bought from Amazon here: • I bought the cheapest ...
The pre-built I have in this video (US link, only a more expensive version with SSD): www.bestbuy.com/site/acer-nit...
The exact one I have (Canadian link): www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/...
The one that seems like better value: www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpow...

Fortron Source (FSP) is a decent brand for power supplies. It is not a "fashion" brand as Corsair, or EVGA but they have often built decent OEM power supplies. If you are buying a prebuilt from a non-boutique company like Acer and you get a FSP PSU, I would count myself lucky.

For Total War - Warhammer it seems to be getting 50-60 fps on high settings, so I'd expect even more than that with this system.

Lower end systems are usually left over from when they were high end systems or assembled from parts that were purchased when they were new and not sold at the time. This means that although the parts are somewhat dated or even obsolete, they actually cost the builders or vendors real money. So they can't discount the "lower powered" machines as much as someone would think. So yes, you can buy a computer that's been in someone's inventory for a year for less than it cost new, but not for less than it cost to build as no one wants to lose money on any product.
Things get complicated when new products are an order of magnitude better than the last generation and the same price, so despite the discounts, you get on an "older type" new computer, you actually get a lot less bang for your buck. There may be savings to be had once a computer is totally obsolete and someone is trying to just clear warehouse space... but who would actually buy a 486 DX 33 system for anything today?

Hey Dawid! A red USB port means it's either USB 3.1 Gen 2, or USB 3.2. These can also be orange. The color ties to the rating, and red USB ports will transfer data at 20Gbps or more. Blue would be 3.0, and teal ones are 3.1. USB 2.0 ports will always be black. Lenovo also uses (or used to use) a yellow usb port on some of their laptops, and that was close to the red, but it allowed continuous power draw, for charging other devices when the laptop itself wasn't on.

If you're in Canada, canadacomputers has a service where you pick out the parts you want in a system and they'll charge you a $100-ish build fee to put it together. Pretty reasonable price, and you won't have to worry about cutting corners with PSUs and the like. It's a pretty reasonable option if you don't want to build a PC yourself.

I have no idea what the MOBO, CPU cooler or PSU are though, but it seems to run fine for the price. I don't know if there are any cheaper ones out there that are better or worse.

Bought this system from MicroCenter in the Boston area. My specs are a somewhat different: 1TB Sata with Intel Optane 16gb; i7 8700 CPU; and Radeon RX 580 Graphics. Most of the other specs are the same. In the process of removing the bloatware (for now most of the apps are all turned off). I did upgrade the ram to 16gb and installed a $10 case to for outflow. At some point I may add an SSD but with the Intel Optane this computer boots up almost as quickly as my laptops with SSDs. I'm not a game and bought this computer to eventually run my Software Defined Radios and associated software. Currently I'm running them on a 5 year old HP dekstop (which is absolutely fine but I wanted something newer). So far I'm fairly happy with it. Paid $599 USD.

All in a cool RGB tempered glass case. I saved $400. I had to tweak the Bios, added my 2TB HDD from my 5 year old PC, and do better cable management. If I was to buy all the parts and build it myself would have cost $1,100. I got a great deal and had to do vary little to make it my way.

All you need is the key for windows from the key finder thing in hirens boot CD and reinstall the os on a new drive use the same key and it should detect that the PC is OEM and made by acer and it will activate.
I had to do that to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop, the hardware has been changed from it's original configuration that's on my service tag ( RAM has been upgraded from 4GB ddr3 1066MHz to 8GB ddr3 1333MHz and the HDD was replaced with a WD black 7200RPM 500GB 32MB cache) but i used a 16GB SD card with a genuine windows 7 pro sp1 x64 iso (from Microsoft) put on it by rufus 3.9 portable, pulled out the CD/DVD RW drive (windows didn't like it so i had to remove it only during setup) and used my product key from the sticker under my battery and windows 7 reinstalled, then i updated it installed some drivers and reactivated windows so it isn't hard to do and i got a extra product key from it because my laptop came with windows 7 pro x86 preinstalled but was changed to windows 7 pro sp1 x64 before i got it so it had a new product key for that and the one i used was the original one for win 7 x86 which worked fine with windows 7 pro sp1 x64.

Came with an SSD, hardrive, 16 GB ram, and everything else you would want for a $950 (US) PC. Again, it is still not better than building yourself, but at the time I didn't have the option, so it was the best I could do. I even priced out the parts and from what I could tell I was only being charged a little for setup.
