Kurze doesn't try to intimidate what he can't, rather he tries to persuade him probably because he saw one of the futures(even a remote one that the Lion could be persuaded). He's stoic nature and adaptability makes him Kurze's nemesis in combat.
It is amazing that Kurze says in "desperation": " You SHOULD NEVER HAVE SURVIVED that TAINTED world you call home!" Caliban is tainted...and the Lion LIVED there. And the line "...History will be kinder to you this way." What did Konrad see in the future of the Lion that killing then him would be a kindness? Konrad Korze is sad future seeing broken psycho batboy indeed.
Ya, also in one of the books (can't remember which one) is shows flashes of all the primarchs that fall to chaos. It doesn't list them by name, but describes them and one of them that didn't fall to Chaos even though the Chaos gods apparently tried. The one that didn't fall even though they tried is heavily hinted to be the Lion. They threw him at a tainted planet, filled with warp tainted creatures and instead of giving in he basically _purged_ the entire planet of chaos spawn, and somewhere along the way learned to hide himself from the warp. This is why the Lion was able to hunt down Curze in the belly of his flagship, in the dark, without Curze being able to really sense/see him. The Lion learned how to hide his soul from the warp before he even knew basic language. The Lion really is the Bane to Curze's Batman. Just in this story Bane wins - entirely. No comeback story for Batman.

I love these vids, I haven't read the books so this is kinda catching me up on some of the lore of the heresy. As far as this one goes, I think the best part of it is when a "lowly" space marines FIGHTS with Kurze. It my not be the case, but this is the first I've heard of a member of one of the legions personally pulling one of the Primarchs off of their own, since all the others I've heard of were simply diving in to their death to save their Primarchs. The face that he not only was able to yank him off but the balls to even attempt it makes that dude my new favorite space marine, aside from Nathaniel Garrow. Great stuff wolf lord, keep it up!

Before I started reading the books from the Horus Heresy, I already liked the Dark Angels a lot, and my favourite traitor Legion has always been the Night Lords. The books only made them better in my eyes, and I LOVE that these two are such rivals during all that.
If you guys think this fight is cool, you guys should read the fight after this one between Lion & Curze, where they are all alone in the dark & Lion utterly loses his temper with Curze. Brutal.
As someone who has fought a lot, with fists, you'd be surprised how often it winds up that way. You end up rolling on the ground and it's partially luck who ends up on top.
"I'm sorry bother." "For wha......." "For the 3 feet of adamantine I just put through your gut!" Love it! Oh the chaos lord completely blindsided by the knight in shining armors cheapest of shots!
And there are still people who wonder if the Lion is a loyalist... He fucking damm is! Not as a shining hero like sanguinius, not like an implacable soldier like Dorn, not like an enlightened statesman like Guilliman, not like a fanatic devot like Ferrus. He is a knight, who swore an oath to his emperor an to humanity. That's why he said "loyalty its his own reward". His goal is to respect that oath, nothing else matter.
Favorite visual here is when Sevitar starts up his chain glaive immediately after Lion impales Curze, like he was expecting it to happen and that it was only a matter of time.
long sword as a side arm to a massive spear (although id prefer a halberd beggars cant be choosers) tbh it would be kinda medieval so ranged weapon (bolter rather then a bow ofc) then the pike then the sword. the claws are too restrictive
Fun and Party There are a few Primarchs who could have been warmaster and would have done an admirable job. most of them on the loyalist side. My short list would be In order Guilliman, Dorn, Johnson, Sanguinius. My reasoning, R&R had both ruled empires, there legions had their shit together ( no real internal conflicts)and they were generally open/honest in their dealings. Johnson, while their equal in strategy and leadship, his legion had issues that he really didn’t wish to deal with. this would bite him in the ass as warmaster.( how can you run a crusade when you cannot keep your own house in order?) Sanguinius is last, because first he didn’t want it, he really didn’t want it, a job that important shouldn’t be done when your heart is not in it. second, the red thirst, this is a distraction such a job can’t afford. All of these Primarchs are awesome. and the lines between then are razor close, but this would be my picks.
Spike .Strat13 Lion was not fit to be the Warmaster. He was an apex Predator, the all rounder war machine, unmatched battle tactician but still not diplomatic and visionary enough to be the Warmaster.

The Lion is awesome as always and Curze is scary as hell but let's be real here, the most badass person in this excerpt was Corswain. My mans jumped onto a primarchs back, wrapped a chain around his throat and pulledhard enough to break his neck. Then when said primarch throws him off and looks like he's going ro kill him, Brother gets up to fight him again! Absolute fucking unit.
Is there any Primarch more loyal than The Lion? First is everything. Pride alone would not allow him to turn against his Father. Following the betrayal of Luther, I am sure the Lion has had his pride dented, in the same way Roboute has had his confidence knocked. However, on the back of that, woe betide any foe who dares face the Lion once he is brought forth from his slumber. His honour will not allow him to hide the betrayal, he will speak to his father, and with renewal born of forgiveness, the Lion and his Angels, free of their shame will rise again to lead the fight against the enemies of humanity.
My theory is the secret message was to put seeds of treachery about Guilliman building his own empire, hence why he comes to visit him and question his actions whilst konrad is still aboard his ship
You should have saved the Lion El'Jonson vs Konrad Curze title for a video about the Angels of Caliban because the Lion quite literally beats Konrad into the ground and breaks his spin.
ADB wrote this little short story badly as far as lore compliance and reality were concerned. The Lion Sword dealt excruciating wounds that took primarchs WEEKS to heal and left scarring. This was according to Russ in his primarch novel. Curze isn't shrugging it off because it isn't knitting up. The combat scene is nonsense when Curze tackles him. For anybody that has weapon or combat experience, it is not happening. "Lept at his brother with a howl". Nonsense. He is not passing the Lion's en garde with a tackle, especially considering the Lion's speed, training, and combat experience. It makes zero sense. It is bad writing. I love the characters, the Lion, Curze, Sevatar, and Corswain. I love the dialogue, but ADB has NEVER had legitimate combat training or experience.
To be fair The lion has never really had to face a crazy mf who can see the future try to murder him so I can see why he’d be a little thrown by the way Konrad fights. Konrad doesn’t really ever win through skill. He either scares the shit out of you or simply doesn’t let people guess his next move. Not to mention Konrad Is also noted to be unrealistically good at low blows. It’s not the best writing but I’ve seen worse
@@ianharrison5758, remember that it was the Lion's actions that were unforseen by Fateweaver, Curze, and the Autocathona. All 3 are top tier prognostic psykers. He overcame all 3.
The more one learns of the Horus Heresy, the more the fall of the Primarch's seemed inevitable. When Fulgrim was being Tortured by Lucius and the other captains, he said: "I am a demon. What do you think Primarch's are". I believe he might have been referring to the warp being part of their makeup and the reason for their power in comparison to the rest of Humanity. They were, for all intensive purposes, biological super weapons; imbued with powers that allowed them to perform feats that only 'Gods and Demons' can perform in the eyes of mortal men. Thus their corruption by chaos was not something that happened against their own volition; they wanted it. They saw their purpose in the Emperors eyes and rebelled against that. My take on it, anyway. Great video.
The primarchs are to the Emperor what Greater demons are to the Chaos gods. They are spawn from his essence, they are one of the MANY parts of him. All of them, like himself, are suceptible to the corruption of chaos if left uncontrolled. The Emperor, as the whole of himself, managed to not fall to chaos but clearly had some dealings with the chaos Gods. However, His sons being only some parts of him may have been some of the more "vulnerable" parts of him.
@@fbussier80 I agree. All the Primarchs' possess idiosyncratic traits. The majority of Primarchs that rebelled against the Emperor and embraced Chaos, were, IMO, predisposed to their preternatural state of being. As much as their upbringings shaped their exterior, their substance was more of the warp than of the material realm. I do hope that their creation and the Emperor's dealings with Chaos, are further explored in upcoming books. Nice conversing with you, brother.

From the first paragraph of Horus Rising, I've been in love with the books/audiobooks.I'm glad the series is close to completion a recommendation from me the First Heretic Lorgar is much more than I had earlier believed
I love how this is set up, the Lion an exquisite swordsman and Kurze a bloodthirsty brawler. So good!
I fucking love this man, primarchs are favorite thing within the 40k universe. Keep up this stuff dude, you are doing the emperor's work
You’re the best narrator I’ve heard after hundreds of lore videos!
This was amazing
Wolf Lord Rho: you litterally made a video i've been wanting to listen too. Without even a request. Black Library should just hire you for narration. Keep it up brother!
OH YES, I"VE BEEN PATIENT AND I AM REWARDED, CURZE!
It would be good to hear your take the conversation between Corswain & Sevatar.
THAT would have been a good fight.
I was painting mi minis while listening to this. "Loyalty is its own reword". My minis are all wet because of my tears now
Corswain is so badass, he needs way more screen time!
Two of the coolest Primarchs
i love the Dark Angels, hail to the Lion.
Excellent video VVLR ! You continously select the Best moments in the novels to narrate & then bring up the next set of questions & theorys that keep fans completely enraptured & craving more . GVV really should have you on their payroll for keeping 40k fans vvanting more of their products & vievvers thankfull they've subscribed to your channel.
Girl on girl or primarch on primarch... Hard to chose what id rather watch.
On one hand we have a fight between somewhat two demi-gods that could tremble even the most hardened of battlefields and their genesons fighting alongside them. The other one are just two humans of the same sex kissing and doing intercourse.
One: cool. more licking. licking more...aaaand licking again. cool....
The other: heart wrenching tragedies amidst a nuclear tsunami of violence.
Easy choice.
If none of you choose the girl I weep for mankind
It'd probably be so fast your vision couldn't begin to follow it.
@@justinrivera1618
I'm a woman and I'd much rather watch primarchs beat the everloving shit out of each other. Preferably wearing only loincloths.
Wolf lord was literally one of the best things that happened to me him reading passages from the book and giving his own thoughts on it is just interesting. Keep up the good work bro
Brutal.
This is an underappreciated channel right here
You are now the first channel I’ve turned notifications on for ! And I usually subscribe to everyone!
DO KONRAD NEXT.
PLS!
Horus told curze to remind the lion about who was war master lmao
Hell yes that was epic. Great video
I often mistake between Konrad Curze and Covus Corax
Loyalty is its own reward
Great new channel, thanks for doing this.
Still lost.
Please can we get Robute v Lorgar and Angron from betrayer It’s such an awesome exchange!
FOR THE LION KING
And there are still people who wonder if the Lion is a loyalist... He fucking damm is! Not as a shining hero like sanguinius, not like an implacable soldier like Dorn, not like an enlightened statesman like Guilliman, not like a fanatic devot like Ferrus. He is a knight, who swore an oath to his emperor an to humanity. That's why he said "loyalty its his own reward". His goal is to respect that oath, nothing else matter.
It sounded like Curze knew he wouldn't kill the Lion but hoped he would to spare his brother and his brothers legion from doubt of their loyalty.
Favorite visual here is when Sevitar starts up his chain glaive immediately after Lion impales Curze, like he was expecting it to happen and that it was only a matter of time.
What weapon would you choose, a giant long sword or a pair of lightning claws ???
Jake Wu long sword
sword it has far more versatility
long sword as a side arm to a massive spear (although id prefer a halberd beggars cant be choosers)
tbh it would be kinda medieval so ranged weapon (bolter rather then a bow ofc) then the pike then the sword.
the claws are too restrictive
Lightning Claws with Stormbolters
Jake Wu well... Meryn Trant had Armor... and a REALLY BIG FUCKING SWORD!
That felt awesome, thaanks for that great read!
The real Warmaster vs Curze.
Johnson, while their equal in strategy and leadship, his legion had issues that he really didn’t wish to deal with. this would bite him in the ass as warmaster.( how can you run a crusade when you cannot keep your own house in order?)
Sanguinius is last, because first he didn’t want it, he really didn’t want it, a job that important shouldn’t be done when your heart is not in it. second, the red thirst, this is a distraction such a job can’t afford.
@@magnusthered5994 Heresy😂😂😂😂
Your best video in my opinion
My favorite fight in the entire setting
The lion vs the night haunter
It's a great rivalry!
@@wolflordrho loyalty is it's own reward, that line, that damn line is always the highest point for me in this rivalry
At first I didn't like to here someone reading,... But after my first book that u suggested, it was great,... And now I hear everything from u and I love your warhammer vids the most, and I always mostly get guesbumps from your vids.... Sry for my Englisch I'm. From Germany, But I love your vids and your voice
I'm English, you're English is good, more articulate then most of us too lol
the nightlord knows criminal intent before it happens, so he allowed it to happen. the opening blow by the lion that is.
Jeez you're such a good narrator, awesome videos man, i'm subscribing :)
Love the night lords, take care of the traitor curze :p
The Lion is awesome as always and Curze is scary as hell but let's be real here, the most badass person in this excerpt was Corswain. My mans jumped onto a primarchs back, wrapped a chain around his throat and pulledhard enough to break his neck. Then when said primarch throws him off and looks like he's going ro kill him, Brother gets up to fight him again! Absolute fucking unit.
Also his "know your enemy" philosophy. He studied the Nostromo language & insulted them in their tongue.
History will you remeber you better this way. What an emotional moment between primarchs.
Love hearing this!
Can you do Conrads trial in a future video?
My theory is the secret message was to put seeds of treachery about Guilliman building his own empire, hence why he comes to visit him and question his actions whilst konrad is still aboard his ship
Niiiiice, my favourite screwed up puppy of a primarch, curz
You should do Dorn and Konrad met
Jeremy Hess you are correct.
Curze knows each primarch better than most.
You should do more primarch vs primarch
The more fights we get the more I can do!
Keep them coming!! For the Lion!!
You should have saved the Lion El'Jonson vs Konrad Curze title for a video about the Angels of Caliban because the Lion quite literally beats Konrad into the ground and breaks his spin.
Warhammer 40k lore is not just writing! It is RELIGION!
Autism vs Schizophrenia for the Mental Disorder heavyweight title. Great fight and video, really like your content!
He would have been carved up like a turkey in a jet engine
When homie took the fight to the ground and started bouncing ole' boi's head off the ground like a basketball *Chef Kiss* what beautiful imagery."
Nice conversing with you, brother.
i would like more reading about the traitors primarchs, tbh the emperor had this comming for been a terrible father
The moment monarchia burnt was the turning point
Why isn't primarch vs primarch battles in the main books.. crazy like I can't listen to this on audible it's not available. This shit is truly bad ass
If you think corsuain's description is interesting, servitar comparing konrad and corvus when seeing them side by side is just, chef's kiss
Imagine if Curze had landed on Deliverance or Ultramar
Hey man. You make some pretty cool videos.
I'm new great channel love the content keep the awesome work

And now I just want to cry!
Request: Angron Vs Leman Russ (Book = Betrayer)
Request: Angron Vs Robute Guilliman (Book = Betrayer)
That moment around the 10minute mark. Those are the moments where the real Primarch of the 8th emerges. I wish I could hear and read more moments like that. Not the machinations of the Night Haunter. And the Dark Angels. The more and more I hear about them in the Heresy. The more and more I want to learn about them. Cause their descendants in the modern Imperium, have a lot to stand for.
"A good death is its own reward"

One small comment-
Facade is not pronounced like that. the c is soft like an S.
fa-sa-d
I'm guessing it's come into the language from french
Beat me to the punch, cause I just listened to this video too, and yes it's a french word and its pronounced with a soft c accordingly
Your storytelling skills are pretty damn good. I hate that the Dark Angels mystery is halfway told. We still don't know for sure what happened at Caliban.
