Grind the dog leg down to metal past the rust. Reprime it, paint and blen. Once blended just wet sand the blend with 3000 grit sand paper and buff/polish to a glossy finish :) ill have to take pics of my gxp. Been doin a lot to it. Next project is a shift kit and trans cooler. Just bought a diablo i2 can't wait for a Lewtune. This is her boyfriend nick btw

Get a magnaflow bullet style muffler and put it where the resonator used to be. The longer the better. I'd recommend an 18 inch long unit. It looks like a tube and all it has is some stainless steel packing inside of it. That will definitely quiet down your rasp. I used it on my 03 Monte that used to be straight piped and it did the same raspy shit and once I put that on, it fixed it. I have an. 07 Impala LS4 too. Straight pipped as well (still have the cat) and I love it. I'll be watching man!

MinnesotaMade Our exhaust is not all that restrictive once you get past the downpipe. Downpipe, high flow CAT, and ZZPerformance dyno tune only netted me about 25 whp. You will not get 50-60 whp from headers, cat back, and tune. Probably 30-40 whp at most.

Use some sound deadner in the trunk and under the seats and it'll sound better inside I had an 08 r32 that had a loud exhaust and droned inside alot did the sound deadner spray and it was quiet inside

Awesome sounding at idle and kicking when revved. That raspy sound during light acceleration is the result of no sound deadening at all! You're straight all the way back right? Some say keeping the resonator helps smooth the sound out. Unfortunately, you might have to experiment. I'm familiar with both codes you're getting, how do you get your remote start to work while it's throwing a CEL? Constantly clearing would be a pain.

BaseballPRO16 Is the EVAP code for a small or large leak? If you haven't replaced the gas cap, you can start there. Rockauto.com has the O.E. part for like $8. The CAT code can be tuned out. I have a Magnaflow high flow cat, but had that code tuned out anyway since my CAT is right on the edge being so high flow, it could still have set it off. Have you looked for a good tuner near you? Drop a K&N drop in into her and check into a dyno tune. Well worth the money. Ciao!

BaseballPRO16 Wow! $600 sounds way high. ZZPerformance only charged me $400. Way worth the money though. Changes the way the entire car drives. Are you on FB LS4 Nation? I finally joined up about a month ago. A lot of cool people, maybe some from your area who can help you get tuned. For the large EVAP leak it's most likely the vent solenoid. Drivers side rear in the wheel well, not hard to replace.

Tune out the cylinder deactivation, otherwise known as displacement on demand. Mine didn't leak, but it would burn a quart of oil per month. After having the DOD tuned out I no longer had an oil consumption problem.
