After months of watching all his videos, I've finally reached the point where I can say that I watch Junkyard Dave's videos purely for the ASMR effect. It has nothing to do with cars. The fact that my daily driver is a Focus ST confirms this, as such a brand and type of car is absent here. And JD, I thank you for introducing me to the musical artist Ooyy; I discovered his song Tei through your channel, and it's now one of my favorites.

Have an electric pressure washer as well. You have to check out a Hyde pivoting nozzle wand extension for yours. It's awesome for angling the tip on the fly with grip twist. Looking good!
I really need to start getting parts bought for my future LS4 F40 6 speed manual Beretta GTZ swap still has the original 2.3L High output DOHC quad 4 in it with a getrag 282 5 speed but just spit out yet another head gasket I'm done trying to save that motor it's the 3rd time it's been done second time since I've owned it so it's time for the V8 I want in it while the quad 4 is fast it's just too expensive to redo each time with the parts and longevity of it
So what makes it 700 HP... Manifold is stock.. Heads are stock 243s... Exhaust is stock only thing I see different are the arp head studs and ls7 roller lifters and the obvious dod delete maybe? I'm just confused
You should check out Mitchell Stapletons channel. Putting a nice simple turbo set up together on a 5.3L Suburban, turbo will support 800hp, insanely reasonable price.
I always wanted to see someone put a grandprix ls4 into a 2000-2011 Cadillac Deville/DTS. This would be my ideal cruiser. These cars are incredible with out the northstar.
I got an 08 Impala SS, New trans about 6000 miles ago and its tuned, I have a few new engine parts to help kick off the rebuild and a truck intake manifold that ill throw in too. Im looking at $7k. White ext, grey leather int, aftermarket headlights, tail lights, and an HP Tuners tune.
This is dope, but why didn't you do the intake manifold swap as well while you had the powerplant out? Soooooooo, where ya located Im tryna get my Impala done up lol.
Good job on the engine cleanup. Was the etching on the driver's side head already there or was that from oven cleaner you didn't rinse off? Wish you showed more footage of the engine bay detail/after shots but still really satisfying to watch!
So I assume this is a 4L80 swap as well? If so who did you use as your trans builder? I just picked up an LS4 and I need an upgrade trans over the 4 65. Also instant sub.
A good stock 4t80e should be able to handle 500ish I have never got mine to shift and there is no support probably just build the 65 if you want to drive your car

Triple Edge Performance is your best 4t65e-hd rebuilders. Give them a look up. Also just call around local shops. In my city there is about 12 transmission shops within a 15 mile radius. The ones that didn't want to build it where honest said that they didn't and told me where was good. Found a local guy that built 4 different 10 second cars on 4t65s and another shop that would install a kit I found for 1200$+ the kit
NO, JUST NO NOT ON A ROLLER Rhodes makes them for flat tappet but with roller profiles if you have that much duration you into full race ,solid roller drag only,race only shit

Yeah awd cutlass has a beautiful car. The ls4 is meant to be mounted transversly though whereas the fbody has a longitudal motor and trans with a bravada transfer case
One thing I do know about a LS4 is the intake suffocates the motor…. It’s a horrible intake Second a wise man always told me you NEVER send boost thru a PLASTIC intake Keep us posted
@@zipp9639 appreciate the info, I did see that the ls3 manifold is much bigger, I saw some guys have to do a lot of shaving and cutting to make it fit. Too much for me lol ls7 might be the option. To go when I decide to do it.
@@Junkyard_Dave There's another type of oven cleaner that is safe for aluminium. It doesn't affect the aluminium and is designed for use on aluminium cookware as well as ovens.
It has the trunion and bearing upgrade so no need really. This thing isnt going for any rpm records. It's a stock rocker body but everything else is nicer stuff
@@jimmyford271 actually they don't really free up horsepower over a stock rocker arm with trunion upgrade. The stock rockers are actually the lightest option out there and with the trunion upgrade they will handle 99 percent of the builds out there. Full roller rockers put more weight over the nose of rocker but they do better at eliminating the side to side motion on the valve stem than stock rockers. On older engines maybe they would free power but it's usually because they swap to higher rocker ration giving more lift. On a LS like this you wouldn't see a horsepower difference

If you're going crazy with horsepower you'll want to do a 4t80 they're not a direct fit requires some grinding and shaving in a few spots
DAVE, just saw Howards cams makes an ls1 variable duration lifter. CAN these be used on an aftermarket cam like a Comp cam xtreme cam, in a ls4?

I know this comment is old but no ones done the ls3 intake as it's too big compared. the ls2 and ls7 intakes fit, the ls7 being the better option
