Love your videos Patty! And Oliver! Thank you for sharing both your struggles and good times with us. It helps to know others have similar feelings. February and March are my hard months typically. Would definitely love to hear about your running goals!! I think I’m mentally in a place to start my comeback… for real this time. 😂 Trying to accept I’m not where I was physically and it’s ok to start all over …and to have patience with myself. 😳

😊 I understand the starting over dilemma. I’m finding myself in that situation as well right now. It does take patience and a compassionate understanding of what it means to be well and that it’s not always linear for anyone but especially for people with mental health issues.

Great video Patty. I agree entirely about comparison to others being a slippery slope, especially as someone with bipolar. I like to use the phrase, “Comparison is the death of joy.” It’s a reminder for me to check myself so I don’t fall into that trap. I think setting goals is important too, I’ve found when dealing with bipolar I have to be more flexible with those goals, re timespan etc., but we need something to hope and strive for. As you know, like you I’m a runner. So I have goals as races that keep me focused. I also play guitar, my goal is to keep improving till I can sing some favourites. I’ve found it’s good for my mania as it keeps my brain focused.
    Love seeing Oliver!! 💙

Thank you 🙏 I don’t know what I would do or how I would be without running! I have more ideas about goal setting so there will be more videos in the future on this topic.

I have bipolar 1. I don't do traditional meds, lithium orotate (nutritional dose, not pharmaceutical) helps me. I have a child named Oliver, funny coincidence.
