    These are beautiful and iconic silhouettes, perfect for anyone who feels nostalgic towards classic dinosaur figures.

    I'd say this set is especially good for people that couldn't get any of the LEGO Jurassic World figures from last year or the triceratops figure from the LEGO dinosaur line in 2012. I also looked at the price and at ToysRUs it is only $15.00 which I think for this set is phenomenal.

    pterodactyls would walk with the lower parts of the wings folded up
    since their wings work the same way as bat wings, they fold the lower parts back so that their hands are on the floor

    there is actually a 4th build that lego suggests at the end of the instructions booklet

      John Jack they can be customized into those colors (pretty sure gold, gray, and red are very common with Lego)

    • @Tupiaz
      @Tupiaz 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Gold? No. at least not in all the right pieces. Wasn't a normal colour until Ninjago came along. You can use yellow which is a pretty standard colour even though it is used less than previously.

    LEGO officially calls the second model a Pteradactyl and I mistakenly went by that. I am not a paleontologist and have especially not studied the Pterosaur order so I will defer to experts in the field to correct LEGO's mistake.

    • @febbbm2002
      @febbbm2002 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      TonyTheTortoise the main build is the t-rex, but the triceratops looks more solid and cuter though

    • @dagobertorodriguez8277
      @dagobertorodriguez8277 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looks the best, no compitition. But as Jang said, it's lack of articulation definitely makes it worse.

  • @piecheese1214
    @piecheese1214 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Your pterosaur's standing pose isn't realistic in the slightest. Its wings are basically its hands, with the wingtip being a really long finger. With that in mind, the middle of the wings, where the palm is located, would be touching the ground and the wingtip would be pointing upwards and back. Sadly, this posture isn't possible with this set, so I guess your mutant penguin stance will have to do. (If you want to learn more, I suggest watching the BBC's "Walking with Dinosaurs.")

  • @defenderprime8046
    @defenderprime8046 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    How awesome is this? Combining Legos and dinosaurs! I know we've had sets like Lego Dinos and Lego Jurassic World, and as a kid, that's something that would have appealed to me a lot, any fans of dinosaurs will love getting this set, or even get 3 to be able to build all 3 dinos! I like the T-Rex the most, but all 3 are very cool, wonder if they will make more Creator sets with dinosaurs to build like this one? I can imagine a brachiosaurus, that would be cool! Nice review, Jang!

  • @mattparker7932
    @mattparker7932 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Over two years later. Just bought this set for myself and I’m loving it. Discovered that a fourth official build (brachiosaurus) exists with instructions on LEGOs site. Looking forward to building that soon. Also might try to build a stegosaurus MOC soon. One of my all time favorite sets considering the price, the parts, and the official builds.

  • @mvenusaur01

    I also agree, the Pterodactyl is the best one, especially with all the possible poses because of the articulations.

  • @alexkolesnykov6171
    @alexkolesnykov6171 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    The 'Pterodactyls' actually rest on their 'hands' in the wings, but the point of contact is where the 'nails' in the model are located. But I guess it's hard to pose that way

    @cuervo3836 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks Jang for all your awesome reviews!

  • @Goose.Films.
    @Goose.Films. 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    The pterosaur standing position probably would have had the wings folded in the middle, creating sort of a v-shape, as the actual hands of the thing would have been in approximately the middle of the wing so it would have used those to walk. Never the less, your idea of standing position was pretty good :)

  • @sonicguyver7445

    • @josephmoore286
      @josephmoore286 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Triceratops is my favourite because of the realism of the head and it’s ascetics

  • @InvertedWIng
    @InvertedWIng 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I doubt Pteronodons stood up on their hind legs; they probably crawled on all fours in a way akin to bats. It's nice that the option is there for the model, though. I got a kick out of anthropomorphizing him a bit, curling his wings up so that it looked he was trying to make fists with them and get into a bar brawl.
    There's also a bonus set with an Apatosaur. He doesn't look like much at a glance, what with having a tail that's shorter than his neck, but he's got a great range of poses that give him a surprising amount of character. Much more than the Triceratops in any case.

  • @leetri
    @leetri 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    This reminds me of the big red dinosaur set from years ago, I had so much fun building my own dinosaurs out of it.
    As for realistic poses, the pteranodon should be angled more forward and walk on its "hands" while folding the outer finger back. That's sadly not possible with this model.

The end of the wing (Pretty much the pinkie claw) should be folded back with the "Hands" (Being the 3 main claws) on the ground. I dont see this being possible with this set though so you did the best possible.
