I took this concept to the next level, by taking my phone to a large city storm drain system, and attached the phone to small pvc pipes that gradually increased in size, until they reached the 10 foot diameter of the cities storm drain outflow pipe. Then I turned on the phone and cranked up Metallica's Harvester of Sorrow, and the sound was then forced backwards through the sewer pipes, and it was released out of all the street level sewer drains in the city, but it had become so amplified by then, that it blew out every office window in the city of Philadelphia! It took 6 months for them to replace all the windows, and after they figured out it was me, I was fined $474,000,000. So be careful with this!
Pipes will not boost the sound it will just change how the sound is dispersed. The only way to boost the sound is to increase the volume of the source.

I know you've seen the Blue men group play the passive pipe instrument, would it surprise you that this was too small a scale of pipes to get that kind of sound. I mean with a transmission line speaker you can increase the output of a driver So to do this with a cell phone you would need to know its parameters and what the wave length is then work out the math and make the nessary folds in the pipes to give you a 1/4 wave of a particular frequency your aging for. Probly 80 to 5k hz range the most sensitive part of human hearing range. Then you would need to install the tiny speakers in this design. If you think I'm joking on this and im not have you ever heard a bose wave radio thats the principles of its design. I belive they use a pair of 4" driver to produce the sound they make..
