Very curious as to what investment you had such a good return on and why there was so much negative ‘noise’ about it. Was it’s price being manipulated. No dramas. Hopefully my transparency will show that you can talk about your finances to others and to try and kill the stigma which holds people back from asking for help. Some people may look at it and realise they are doing quite well as they can compare with someone else. Or vice versa but hopefully then they'll be able to see where they can change course for the better. As for my specific investment, I'm not going to reveal that yet. Mostly because it is an incredibly volatile stock. Fluctuates like nothing else. I want to release a number of videos specifically on investing before I reveal what I am doing. This is because I don't want people copying me without actually understanding the ins and outs. People will see me as a voice of authority on the matter as I have a platform which a lot of people see and trust and if they see me investing in one thing, they may follow as they trust my judgement. The issue with this is that they have invested into this asset for the wrong reasons and don't understand. So, if and when it drops sharply, because they don't understand it, they may react negatively and sell despite the fact nothing has changed. Potentially towards the end of this year I'll do a reveal and explain why I'm investing in this specific company but until then, I'll keep it under wraps. My Vanguard Stocks and Shares ISA also grew in 2023 but nowhere near to the extent of this.
This is a fund for things that aren't an emergency. It could be a Christmas fund, wedding or birthday. It could be used for paying off your car insurances, car service etc. Things like that. Larger payments, which aren't always expected but are large enough. Doesn't really matter how you arrange them or what you call them or what they are used for. Will differ for everyone but that's why it's personal finance.
