The ‘70’s, and especially the ‘80’s-a song for every memory.
I was an 80's teenager and 1987 was probably the best year of all of them. You had Starship, Toto, Foreigner, Duran Duran, Michael Jackson, Huey Lewis, Cheap Trick all completely killing it and at their peak, to name a few. And then on the metal side it was equally as wild with Bon Jovi , Whitesnake, Priest, Cinderella, Guns n Roses. All this I was 16 and right in the middle of this musical hurricane.

I was into Slayer, D.R.I, Misfits, Dead Kennedys, Septic Death, Dr.Know, ill Repute, etc. And also still liked "radio/ Mtv" music. 1987 Freshman year! Miss it.
My favourite Starship song. It really deserves a lot more love. As a band, these guys were as solid as any.
This band was one of the most recognized bands of the 80's and early 90's. I miss that time and I miss this lineup of Starship. Grace and Mickey complimented each other so well and the band freakin' rocked!!!

As a keyboard/piano player myself, that’s a heck of a setup for 1987!
I had the pleasure and privilege to see these amazing guys live and loud and I gotta say it's like a dream come true. It blew my mind when I found out they was coming to my town to play closing out the season. We have live music in our downtown area every Thursday during the summer. It just so happen my fav classic rock band came and played. They put on one hell of a shindig. I'll never forget that night. Greatest band out there. There lyrics are out there on something's and simple with others. Nothing compares to the evolution of Jefferson Airplane. Jefferson starship and now just as they deserve. Starship!

I tore my achilles playing basketball.. odds were I wasn't going to play competitively again. this was one of my comeback songs! I used to cry in triumph to this when I made it back to basketball. GO STARSHIP!
This would make a great soundtrack to a movie. If only movies today could have music like this.

Its not over til its over----still standing with all my memories of this point in time. It was a new beginning for me , split with the wife of forever--since high school ,changed jobs ,moved---oh it was hell. Then saw this video on MTV--life just flowed right on with me and my dreams. The best part of my life was yet to come----THANKS STARSHIP---love you Grace and Mickey......!!!

This man might just be the most outstanding vocalist EVER! He's one of my influences grew up with their music. Just so passionate and emotional. We need inspirational songs like this again. BTW this would be a great locker room song for a hockey team. They'd win every game! Just brilliant lyrics too.

@Douglas-Lee Dempster A funny, yet embarrassing thing I did when I was a kid. The movie Mannican played on the movie channels often for a couple of Summers. "Nothings Gonna Stop us Now" was that movies theme song, right.
So after the movie was over in the early afternoon, I went outside and started swinging an empty plastic outdoor trash can around in a circular motion, while singing that song at the top of my lungs, "and we can build this thing together, standing strong forever, Nothings Gonna Stop us Now...." Haha!
I didn't know anyone was watching or going to hear me, until our neighbor opens her door, walks out to check her mail, then looks right at me. I stopped and froze immediately while feeling super embarrassed. The neighbor said, "don't stop on account of me, pretend I'm not here", followed with loud laughter.
I knew she was being sarcastic and making a joke about the awkward situation. After she went back in her house, I ran back inside my parents house feeling a bit humiliated, but got over the cringe worthy feeling later that evening.

This is the first song I heard from Starship (under their new name). After getting hooked on this and Its Not Enough, I listened to Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now, from that movie soundtrack (I forget the name). Then I started revisiting all their classic hits from the 60s..,Somebody to Love etc. Stuff I grew up with when young, that I hadnt heard in years!! 😍😎

Back in 1987 when this song was released, this video included Major League Baseball highlights and was used by MLB as a defacto theme for the season. That version was played on MTV and for the life of me, I can't find it anywhere. If anyone has it, please post!

As someone who prefers the predecessors to this band by a mile!! (Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship for those who don't know) This is a great song and really probably the only song by this version of the band I can tolerate.

About time this video was unblocked in the States. A top 10 hit for Starship in late summer 1987 from their second album "No Protection".

No, it was blocked for the usual reason: copyright issues.
By the time Love Among the Cannibals was issued Mickey Thomas was left to stand alone.
Basically Mickey was left to stand alone because the drummer beat the crap out of him backstage one night. That was the end of Starship. It’s too bad because their best songs came from the last 3 or 4 albums. Basically when the leftover Jefferson guys left the band.
