I often can't listen to the whole song cause I would tear up 😭 Was a real 80s kid. The days when we would hear it on radio and not even know who sang it. We would always have a cassette in the deck ready to just hit record 😂.. These music were there in our ups and downs. Hope all if you in the same era are doing well yourselves. Love you all ❤️💪

I really miss this music and this kind of music of the late 80''s. Very nostalgic and I remember my younger days. Very classic and I really love this. I believe, this video will have millions of views later.

Written by Ina and Peter Wolf. The Austrian Duo that were married at the time. They were a big part of Starship's career in the mid 80's. They also wrote Jefferson Starship's hit "No Way Out" Peter is a multi talented keyboard Board Player, Producer, Aranger, Songwriter and more. They both appear heavily on the "Knee Deep in the Hoopla" and "No Protection" albums. They also appear on Grace's 1984 solo album "Software". They recorded two albums as "Wolf and Wolf" and one as "Vienna" in the 80's. They wrote or co-wrote songs/hits for El Debarge {Who's Johnny}, Kenny Loggins, Laura Branigan, Lour Gramm, The Pointer Sisters and more in the 80's and 90's. =)

I remember this song from the 80's when I was working in Downtown Portland Oregon on the Graveyard shift as a teen and how it affected me then! Starship was Amazing!! I'm glad that I didn't miss the eighties' as some did. I would not trade it for current time ever!!!!!

What an interesting video, possibly the coolest ballad EVER, with excellent vocals by Mickey Thomas, and a great arrangement with great backups!! A bunch of the chords are not what you'd expect, or what I had come to assume they were anyway from casually listening to it. The video is both beautiful and heartbreaking. There's poetry in how Sara (Rebecca de Mornay) is so free-spirited that even while she and the guy are together she seems to belong only to the wind, and later, some form of the wind seems to have taken her away, as the guy (Mickey Thomas) reminisces. He's in love with her, and he's broken up over losing her. I'm guessing the brunette (Grace Slick) is a friend or family member who helps the guy pick up the pieces after Sara's departure, their exact relationship at that point left open to speculation.

When my 1st wife passed away in 2014, I played this song over and over and over and over... My 6-year-old son lost his mommy and I lost my wife, sort of a reflection of the plotline💔
Edit: the montage at the end hits me hard. I made one for my wife and to this day have a hard time watching it.
I am so sorry for your loss. For me, when I watch this video and listen to the song, it makes me think back to my childhood in the 80's, I wad born in 1979, the last scene in the video makes me think of how those days are now long gone, and the closeness with my mother disappeared with time. Not the same as the death of a loved one like what you experienced, but it is just a simpler time for me, once the 90's started, it all went down hill. 21+ years, since my falling out with my mother, and unfortunately there is no talking it out with her, she just refuses to listen to me. And as the old saying goes, you can't make someone listen or change.
