I, too, did not discover this powerhouse of a ballad until many years after its release.
Very interesting post for 2022! I remember this song as a teen - and I didn't realize it has VERY similar tone and arrangement to both WHITE SNAKE and DEF LEPPARD. That is why this song sounds so good . By the way,i think Love Among The Cannibals is the best Starship era album,by a lot. The production was top notch.

Minute 2:30 takes me to a dimension where the sensations are perfectly eternal. I'm Argentine, but I love the music of the 80's from international bands! Greetings from Argentina.!!
The 80’s was the era that the band’s members actually played their own instruments!!! And the music they made of actually listenable…including tracks on their CD’s that never got air play! I’ve loved this band since they were Jefferson Starship before Mickey Thomas joined the band…but I have to say, when he did the band was raised up to incredible heights because of his powerful voice!!
MICKEY THOMAS =LEGEND. I GOT TO SEE HIM IN A SMALL VENUE IN LITTLE ROCK, AR IN THE LATE 80'S. I WAS ABOUT 5 FT FROM HIM AND HE DID ALL THE HITS AND MAN HIS VOICE JUST REVERBERATED THROUGH ALL OF US AND IT WAS MAGICAL. HE SOUNDS INSANE IN PERSON. NAILED EVERY SONG, SOUNDED JUST LIKE THE RECORDS. LONG LIVE MICKEY THOMAS.
Micky, the voice!!! Most underrated vocalist that I know. Voice as good as Steve Perry's. I love this song b/c I was stationed in Panama in 1989. I was with the Marines. Great memories, great era, great to be young!!!
This was released in August 1989. Was the beginning of my senior year in high school. One of the best ballads ever performed by Starship. Very underrated.

It's not enough to tell me you're sorry
Darlin' you know deep inside
If you want my love, then girl you must show me
(Not enough)
Empty words you say you want to please me
But half a heart won't make it right no
It's not enough to tell me you love me
It's not enough to tell me that you care (Yeah)
It's not enough to tell me you want me
Darlin' you know
Not enough to tell me you need me
It's not enough to tell me that you cried (Yeah)
It's not enough to tell me you're sorry
Darlin' you know deep inside
It's just not enough (Not enough)
Oh, if you really want to know girl (Not enough)
What it takes if you want my love
These men are musical masters at their instruments and singing!
I love this song... his voice is amazing... when he sings the high pitch all I hear is Steve Perry! 💕
Mickey's voice....what can you say?
A singer's singer.
Amazing song.
Craig chiaquco guitar work makes this sound like Jefferson starship.and Mickey's pipes are awesome as always.still sounds this great!
One of the best Starship songs, totally underrated!
Mickey is still killing it live at 70+ years old
When I watch video's from 80's and 90's, I just want to cry. I miss those days soo much, all I go through now is heartache, depression and pain that never ends. I want to go back to the good ole days.
Minute 2:30 takes me to a dimension where the sensations are perfectly eternal.
I'm Argentine, but I love the music of the 80's from international bands!
Greetings from Argentina.!!
Awesome 80s rock Micky Thomas powerhouse voicalist
The shoulder shrug at 3:33 love the mannerisms of back then
Brings back awesome memories of being "twenty-something" in the 80's!! Yeah baby!
big guitar, big drums, big vocals. fantastic. long live the 80s.
I bought a Starship cassette tape in 1989, Love among cannibals, that was my favorite song! ❤️
My God. What an amazing band and the singer has a voice out of this world. I love listening to this over and over.
Great band
Love Among The Cannibals is a great LP. Wild Again (from Cocktail) is Starship's crowning moment. Brilliant.
Micky, the voice!!! Most underrated vocalist that I know. Voice as good as Steve Perry's. I love this song b/c I was stationed in Panama in 1989. I was with the Marines. Great memories, great era, great to be young!!!
ohh during the Panama invasion right? South Command Network!!
Was also lead singer for Elvin Bishop band
Haven’t heard this song in 34 years. Late summer early fall of 1989. Wish I could go back
This was released in August 1989. Was the beginning of my senior year in high school. One of the best ballads ever performed by Starship. Very underrated.
The year and month I was born 💞
I turned 16 in that month in 1989!
❤
Song reminds me of when I was in high school. God I miss those days!
