When I was a child, my mom used to take me to the mountain and pickup herbs with her, now I miss those days. Watching her picking up those plants I can not name in English makes me remember the scents and tastes.

So true, I became interested in foraging as an adult and went back to the island I'm from that my parents still lived on. I took a hike I'd taken many many time before and was amazed that literally 80% of the plants on the trail were edible (it's a particularly plentiful area though because the indigenous people cultivated it for thousands of years).

Pteridium aquilinum - a type of edible fern; also called bracken
Gynura bicolor - an edible herb also called Okinawan spinach belonging to the chrysanthemum family
Aralia elata seem - a type of tree also called Japanese/Chinese Angelica-tree, the shoots are edible and picked in spring
Wild hollylock - an edible flower/stems also edible
Allium victorialis - a wild onion/leek; the stems are edible and it flowers.
Polygonatum - an herb used for treating bruises, edema, aches pains, and inflammation, they flower and produce berries in summer that aren't edible.
Houttuyna cordata: an herb mainly used in southeast asian cuisine, also called fish mint

Chinese divided 4 basic seasons to 24 seasons in Chinese agricultural calendar, it tells you when to seed and harvest; what suppose to eat and not to eat some particular food in that season . In beginning of every her video will mention what agricultural season on the top corner.
