Since I was a young girl, I have dreamed of going to China. A beautiful country with an ancient, exquisite culture. I love these glimpses of my dream.
It's a great timing to travel around China, since China has been covid free(almost, about 10 cases daily) so that you can go to experience the world without covid, plus the flight ticket is cheaper now. The only thing that might trouble you is 14days qurentine in hotel right after arriving to China.

For those who don't know. Ziqi has quite a sad childhood, her father died when she was a child. This video, as far as I am concerned, is in memory of her father. In the description, she said she had a vague memory about when she was a child she cried to her father for this vegetable in the video and got beaten by her old man. The old man realised he is hurting his own flesh and blood, and then made a silent apology as most Chinese father would do -- he went up to the deep mountain and found the vegetable which his daughter cried for. She was so sad to have recalled this memory --- one of a few about her father, yet vague one. This explained why she tried to yell in the mountain and why the flute is in this sad tone which drastically different from her other video.
It's my first day subscribe to her channel, and so far I've already watched dozens of her videos and done some research about her and her family. I was triggered to write this comment just because the English subtitle said she "pretend to yell", that just made me feel not so right. Is it really appropriate to add personal evaluation in the subtitle?

Someone translated the description in Chinese, and apparently this dish she made is one she threw a tantrum for when she was little, and her dad finally relented and went into the mountains to find the shoots that she cooked in this vid. She apparently yelled something like "dad, how are you on the other side.". He apparently died 20 some odd years ago, so her only memories of him are from when she was a child.

No, it is not Ginsen, Ginsen is root, this is fruits or stem, after checking with the Chinese name, it should be Aralia chinensis.

in Alaska its called devils club, it has small razor sharpe thorns that will go through your clothes and make you fester for months, but those ones looks way bigger and has a different top, the ones in Alaska has red berries that the bears eat, the roots are used as medicine just like ginseng

Yes... its obvious that she indeed does a lot of work and cooking coz her hands seem immune to a good amount of heat and injury. She uses bare hands to handle a lot of hot items. Its just surprising how they are still so pretty.

Man, ur questions hit my wonders. Everyday works for bills, big cars, fancy home, never been happy from inside of me. She has a life I wanted.
Her videos changed my life in some ways. I now cook all my food from scratch, I make my own sauces like mayonnaise and ketchup, I grow as many of our vegetables as I can, if I need something I see if I can make it rather than buy it. Small changes make a big difference to the quality of life over time. ❤
