小时候我爷爷教过一句让我很疑惑的顺口溜：“红薯芋头本姓张，煮的没有烧的香”…虽然到现在也想不明白为啥一定要姓“张”但一点也不妨碍我爱吃它！年初在前院大门口种了几排毛芋儿后门那多种了香芋，刚好也到了能下嘴的季节。芋儿鸡、烤芋儿、红糖芋圆蛋…你们呢？最喜欢怎么吃芋头啊？
When I was little, grandpa taught me a rather puzzling jingle: “Sweet potato and taro are surnamed Zhang, better roasted than boiled for long.” Even today I still haven’t figured out why on earth they had anything to do with the surname Zhang, but I love them anyway! At the beginning of the year, several rows of taro were planted at the gate of the front yard, and water yam at the back door. Now it’s just the time to feast on them. Taro with chicken stew, roasted taro, eggs with taro balls in brown sugar…And you? How do you like your taro best?

I heard that this video is actually made by the gov. Without huge financlal backing, it is impossible to really live like this, and this does totally not represent how the Chinese in rural areas live. You have to be loaded to live a life like this.
@@dn4244 not necessarily, there are many poverty level families that live on farms. I have relatives living on a rice farm in rural China, they aren’t the most luxurious farmers, but they get by.

These videos take me back to that place. His vegetable gardens. Fresh deer meat. Honey combs right out of the hive. Working the land. The sound of rain. Blessed are you and your beautiful family. I've been looking for these videos for two years. They were on Facebook and then suddenly vanished. I love watching cooking, and gardening, and making clothes and shoes and even furniture and the outdoor oven shaped like a cat. I'm so glad I found you again.
Seeing Liziqi working so hard reminds me of my mother and the stories she told me of her childhood years in our village how she would wake up at 5am every morning and go work in the fields and do chores all day til the sun goes down. This makes me appreciate my mother so much more ❤️

After rewatching a second time, i realized why she took the topsoil in the forest in the first part of the video, it was a source of organic fertilizer wow no wonder the taro bears lots of bulbs amazing!
Yes, its composting. You compost materials to make a wonderful organic soil. It has been done for generations on top of generations. Information that we desperately need to hold on to.

When people comment about this all being fake and so on, I really must laugh. The wide array of skills this woman shows in every video, speak for that. The efficiency, proficiency and muscle memory with which she does tasks, only comes from years of repetition of the same tasks. So whether or not this is all 100% as it appears, doesn't matter to me, in her actions she proves she has the experience. And I'm glad that she has been successful, and is financially set. It hasn't always been that way for her from what I understand. Why can't we just celebrate these beautiful moments of peace she gives us instead of criticism? The world could use a lot less of that.....

Be interesting to see how fake it is. To work that hard and look that flawless maybe. But the consistancy is too accurate. The knowledge behind the daily survival can not be faked. Does she really live this life? Could be another story. These videos have brought me so much joy and peace regardless.
So many times I have felt sadness because of this very thing.
I don't care about anything except that I have learned, that we can make what little we have into a beautiful thing, if we would just let our imaginations loose.

I feel sorry about this beautiful girl and other Chinese. That’s why I clicked “dislike”. There are no proper tap water, no gas cook stove. Chinese use mountain water and river to wash and drink, and use firewood to make fire for cooking. Oh, my god. It is natural, but, the hygiene issue is what I worry about. China is beautiful, but, on the other side, it is so much undeveloped.

@@wendylam8128 This is the most healthy way of living. No adulterants, and every thing pure. Tap water in most cities is chemically treated & chlorinated whereas this is straight from the glaciers. Even if not 100% healthy, it is healthier than tap water and the polluted air in our big cities. Also, she chose this way of lifestyle. It's not like things are not available there, she chose this pure way of living :)
Also, China is one of the world Superpowers, under-developed...i wouldn't call it that. There are rural and urban areas in every country... doesn't mean they're under-developed.

I’ve been to China once before when I was quite young. I lost my caretaker in a crowd on Shangxiaju Pedestrian street. The smells were so new to me and amazing. I must have wondered for hours. When I finally realized I had gone to far it was too late. An old women took me in as her child and I worked as a farm hand until I was found 2 years later. This style of living reminds me of her. The smell of her hands. I watch these videos quite often to remember who I am. Very beautiful . I wonder where she is now. Maybe will meet again.
