I have a friend, whose father is a lotus farmer. Twice a year she would give everyone in the class a handful of fresh lotus seeds bcs her father wanted her to share it with her friends. I had the chance to be in the same class with her for 4 years in highschool. Now i finished my bachelor degree. Never had the chance to eat fresh lotus seeds ever since. Idk where to find it. This video made me miss lotus seeds and my friend 😭

I've recently been doing more Chinese cooking, my "first" recipe was pork rib and lotus root soup. I've just fallen in love with lotus root and lotus plants in general (when I'm REALLY dreaming, I think about making a lotus pond, but I'm not a good gardener). I do understand what you are saying though. when you live life the way some of us in the Western world live, it makes it seem like this way is impossible. my husband is from a developing country and when I went to the village his family lives in, I enjoyed every bit of it and learned how we take advantage of life here in the US

The way she arranges everything, even the ingredients she is going to dump into something else is simply elegant. The lotus petals used to wrap up the other vegetables was exquisite! Ziqi is beautiful and graceful, even when she is in the mud! I like that she is resourceful and so knowledgeable. I like that she made that grater from a piece of metal with nail holes! I have a friend, whose father is a lotus farmer. Twice a year she would give everyone in the class a handful of fresh lotus seeds bcs her father wanted her to share it with her friends. I had the chance to be in the same class with her for 4 years in highschool. Now i finished my bachelor degree. Never had the chance to eat fresh lotus seeds ever since. Idk where to find it. I've recently been doing more Chinese cooking, my "first" recipe was pork rib and lotus root soup. I've just fallen in love with lotus root and lotus plants in general (when I'm REALLY dreaming, I think about making a lotus pond, but I'm not a good gardener). Everything you made looks so wonderful. If you're willing to share the recipes, or point it out of I missed it, I'd be so happy. 😊 Regardless, this was a beautiful video. Thanks for sharing.
