Shot placement is key, but if the mechanical isn’t penetrating enough, the mechanical means a wounded deer. Fixed blades penetrate more. Don’t gamble the chances. Go for the fixed for the best penetration.

After years of mechanical success I lost two nice bucks with Rage , switched to the Wasp Sharpshooter and have been very happy

Weird stuff happens with moving parts. Often these are not repeatable or testable on static mediums like we see on backyard testing. There are too many variables to ever get a true real life test on anything other than live animals. Bottom line is that mechanical's can fail with a well placed hit resulting in lost game unlike a halfway decent fixed blade. The blades can bind and not open even after passing through hide or bone. Fixed heads can fail you with a bad hit towards the rear of the animal, but save you with a more forward hit. The opposite is true with mechanical's. They can save you with a rear hit and hurt you with a forward hit.

You’re not going to out penetrate a fixed!! And if you don’t get full penetration on a fixed and deer runs it keeps cutting where fixed can keep cutting.

Man it’s hard to believe in what you guys say, I know you’ve both probably taken dear maybe this is just a video to get out but in no way it’s a mechanical broadhead gonna be able to outperform a fixed blade broadhead when it contacts bone. I shoot a crossbow and have had mechanical heads not get pass through when it encounters bone, with my fix blades tooth of the arrowheads I shatter leg bones and still get pass throughs A fixed head will always outperform a mechanical head with bone contact
