I'm not a exodus fan boy never owned or shot them but you are putting content out there so you will be critiqued! Dude I like that you are doing these things and putting out these videos and I don't want you to stop! You have to be able to take other people's opinions. Like I said before, others have done tests and these heads of gone through metal with zero damage. You having the shoulder blades almost non supported except stuck between 2 targets is effecting the tests.

I can take others opinions perfectly fine I welcome it just like I can understand no testing is absolute the only difference is i can understand that if the only two variables changed lead to poor performance my focus is on that, like I said over & over in the video I’m curious what this head would do with my higher foc hunting arrows, I strongly believe the lack of foc causes deflection as I had the EXACT SAME HITS on the other tests and those broadheads punched through I even rewatched all of them last night to make sure I was right…. And I was 🤣
maybe y’all should learn to understand that concept you speak of all these people all butthurt over this test format and test were praising it until their Broadhead didn’t hold up as good as we expected nonetheless every claim these people have made about their exodus was proven to be likely by this test they just refuse to actually acknowledge the performance… it performed good it held up well just not like we thought
You gotta shoot better, you were nicking the edge of it. and ive driven through shoilders with that head and still got a pas through. But my arrows are 510 grains so that might be why.
Same, shooting the swept version with arrow weight of 460gr. Last 4 deer have been with the exodus, all pass through no damage and 2 exited through the front shoulder. Decent blood trails and all 4 ran less than 40 yards.
Always something with exodus 🤣watch the other tests it’s the same hits same angles just didn’t hold up all there is to it
High FOC I believe changes things with deflections etc
These same hits with my Higher foc builds yielded no deflection with this speed arrow it did
It’s not poor shooting regardless it’s reality you don’t know what part you may hit on a shoulder what matters is it holds up and it did decent just not what I expected
Agreed buddy blown through both shoulders w a 510gr setup never haven't gotten a pass through....they need to also figure out how to keep the bone from moving 😂😂
Watch the other tests the bone is exactly the same and they held up on the same shots you’re complaining about

I have harvested several deer with the exodus broadheads. Including 3 bucks north of 200 lbs.
2 of wich i have broke through the shoulder blade on the opposite side of the deer while exiting the deer.
All animals recovered with a very short blood trail.
I dont run any of that foc nonsense.

I mean this tests proves it would be more than fine from blowing through the shoulder and would remain lethal
it did fine, i don't consider blade chatter a broadhead failure at all. as long as it stays in one piece, it can do its job. you got to figure that was probably near 100ft lbs of energy all focused on one blade edge.

That is one of my go to broadheads. The blades on the exodus do sometimes get jacked up by shoulder shots, but it's always a pass-through with total devastation. I find myself using the exodus and the Sevr 1.5 and 1.75 mechs more than I do my iron wills now. I hated mechs, but the Sevr's have completely changed my mind about them.
Exodus is one solid head that’s for sure!

I’ve hit bone and rocks with my Exodus and never seen blades that bad… but I’ve also switched to SEVR and haven’t looked back.

I'm a little shock too myself. Thought it would have done better. I can't make up my mind for next season if I want to go with the K2, tooth of the arrow, or a single bevel with bleeders.
I really think it was not having the high foc like I did on the other tests I’ll do this one again with my higher foc build and see what happens

Definitely think higher foc would help for this test. For what the anecdotal is worth to anybody on here, I’ve taken two deer on way less than ideal shots and had no problem with these. One was a frontal shot that went through the brisket and exited the hind leg and the other absolutely wrecked both shoulders. There’s probably way better stuff out there, but these have been reliable for me.

good durability testing, in a bigger animal bone with more foc, it might just destroy the broadhead faster...

More arrow weight will help for sure. I think the head did ok overall, but replaceable blade heads are just not as strong as one piece designs.

I shot a deer last season with the Exodus. I SPINED her 2 of the 3 blades sheared off the 3rd blade was bent I won’t shoot them again

Try Tooth of the Arrow Solid XL. I shoot the 125 grain heads. Flys great, easy to sharpen, decent price, and punches a nice hole, which leaves a great blood trail.
Tooth of the arrow is lights out for sure we’ve tested them a ton! Search tooth of the arrow bco and it should come up

If you slow your slomo down, it didn't deflect. You arrow stuck right where you aimed. The shoulder moved.

Didn’t blame the head I questioned if FOC was to blame as stated in the video
Had the same hits on the other broadheads and they blew through with my higher FOC hunting setup, I don’t think it was the exodus Broadhead I believe the “speed arrow” was at fault like I stated in the video
The main thing this test proves is that if you dont want deflection you need some weight up front. For all the grown men in these comments crying about the scapula moving to cause the deflection, it shouldn't matter if that scapula was hanging by a string the arrow is moving so fast that it should have punched straight through but it didnt because its too light. I aint hating on the Exodus...but that scapula damn sure didn't "jump" outta the way of the HEAVY Ironwill or Kayuga.

John Lusk shot these through steel and into cinder blocks none of these problems....also the shoulder blade is not in a fixed position and not supported

Love your channel, but that was a bad representation of the exodus broadhead. You can see the tip didn't hit the first 2 shots just got caught by the side of the tip and blade, which is why 2 blades were damaged. Hope you get a chance someday to retest it when its tuned to your bow.
My bow is tuned I’m just sighted in with a heavier setup

@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA sorry bud, I agree to disagree. You wouldn't swing an axe and hit the wood with one side of the axe blade and expect it not to deflect, you would swing and hit with the point. Your bow may be tuned but not to that head, I don't believe you were aiming for the edge every shot right? If that would've been a field point the first 2 shots, I believe you wouldn't have touched the bone. Nothing but respect, just what I saw.
@dirtjunkie2749 you don’t have to agree with me man I’m not trying to change your mind I’m just stating these exact hits happened on all other tests and it was completely fine with them heads I honestly believe most of the issue was the other arrows had a higher FOC and on the same hits they punched through the bone
Hence why I said I wanted to test these with my hunting arrows next to compare findings
Every broadhead would deflect with those hits.
The others we’ve tested didn’t but I believe it’s not the Broadhead it’s the fact this was the first test we did without a high foc arrow build just read the pinned comment
Also the bare bone is slick so you might try covering the bone with some deer hyde.

Personally I like this test as it is, I just want to see if the Broadhead will retain its sharpness through that’s the main thing I care about I just speculate on the damage but the main thing is sharpness retention in the blades will it remain lethal after a pass through
A brittle dried out scapula does not prove much. Get a fresh scapula that is not dried out. The only broadheads that fail to penetrate a scapula are some of the larger mechanicals.
It’s not about not getting through it’s about how they hold up when I’m they get through

Everything to do with of the blades retain lethality on a pass through….. that is the focus
Not a very good test, and the results are inconsistent with results others like John Lusk have gotten with this head. The scapula sits loose on the target, so when you shoot the head at the shoulder blade both the arrow and scapula are moving. This test is very subjective to the shooters ability to hit exactly in the same point on each test. I have a fallow deer at the taxidermist that was shot with an exodus, hit in the front shoulder, exiting just in front of the opposite rear leg. 37 yard 10 yards recovery. I also have a test video on my channel showing a exodus going though a femur and a cow skull.
This test also showed the exodus would remain sharp enough to easily pass through and be lethal enough for a clean ethical kill…
Which is the point of the test all I said was I thought it’d hold up better
Also this test is realistic in nature as if the deer moves or jumps the string etc you never know what part of the shoulder and what angle you might hit so this test is about the same as that then when you add a little common sense the tests brings tons of information about what could happen
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA understand your point, but to say something didn’t do well when comparing to the performance of another head, all variables should be consistent. The blades rippling are inconsequential, as it is a replaceable blade broad-head. The guy off camera specifically says, this is indication of a broad head failure, which I can’t comprehend why he would say that.
@6saturdaysaweek well I don’t speak for other people but if you listen to what he says and why he says why he feels that way I understand why he said it but I disagree that it was a failure as I mentioned many times in the video
Also my results will always be inconsistent in testing compared to others it’s a completely different test done a different way with a different bow with a different arrow… if all testing would be the exact same it would be pointless

Didn’t blame really much on the Broadhead if you actually paid attention… hitting any part of that shoulder blade as we have with all the other heads is a solid test, same hits but the other broadheads punched straight through
And if you actually pay attention my first thought was that this arrow setup was a speed arrow with just normal FOC and our thoughts were that’s what it causing it to deflect
Well 1st off the bone is moving as the head hits it and 2nd you're hitting the edge...😂😂 I've blown through both shoulders before so I don't honestly put much into this test....yall usually do a great job n love the channel but hard fail on this one and I'm not talking about the broadhead 🤷🏻♂️
Watch the other tests these exact hits etc happened with almost every single Broadhead we filmed doing this to what y’all are saying this head would have held up to what you say you’ve done with them as you see in the tests it took the beating just I expected it to hold up better like the other heads we’ve tested but it didn’t
It isn’t shot angle or barely hitting it (both of that happened in every other test) I strongly believe it was this is my speed arrow build and didn’t have high foc like my other tests as I’m going to do next with this head

This arrow is your standard FOC hunting arrow used by most bow hunters so it’s still a test
If you listen to the video I am doing this again with my hunting arrows just like I’ll be doing more tests with this “speed arrow” with more broadheads that is what testing is my guy and we will continue to test
