Hey y'all, I am not feeling well enough to reply to comments today (sorry). But I am seeing two questions pretty frequently so I will answer them here. (: Benadryl can help with migraines in some cases. It is given to me in my migraine cocktail if I ever have to go to the ER. Something about easing swelling in the brain, but it also helps with nausea from the migraine. Also, my allergies can make my migraines worse so the Benadryl helps with that, too. (Always consult your doctor on med choices!) Some of y'all have told me to switch my Tricare plan. It does not work like that. Judd is National Guard, we have one option to choose from. It functions like a normal insurance plan. I do not need referrals, I will not be assigned doctors, I can see any doc that takes this insurance (all my current ones do), and I have copays/deductible/max out of pocket/monthly premium - Just like a normal plan. I know y'all are reaching out with the upmost concern and I am so humbled to know you care so much, but do not worry! Judd and I would not be switching me to Tricare if it was not in the best interest of our family. (: We are praying for an easy transition to Tricare, and easy approval of all my current treatments. After speaking with the rep, I am hopeful. Plus, everyone in Judd's unit says this is a wonderful plan so I am very optimistic, but of course cautiously so! ;D I hope y'all have a wonderful day!
Benadryl can do just that, but it's usually the I.V form, not the oral that helps with the brain stuff(according to my neuro people, and from personal experience)
Megan Sanguedolce wow that sounds horrible. my mom has migraines a couple times a month. I can't even imagine having one for 21 months. x.x I hope your mom is doing well!
So glad, it is such a big change with insurance and all, praying it all goes well. I did notice in several videos over a long time, every time you have peanut butter or certain peanut products you look very exhausted(a lot more than you would even notice-perhaps learn with your o/t to rate yourself when you look at your fatigue patterns, like darkness under the eyes, inability to look at the camera and so on), I know there are other issues, but others have noticed the same thing and commented. The easiest way to be objective about this is to eliminate any peanut product for at least a month, keep a log on other foods daily and reactions even if it seems like nothing is happening, you also need to rate your fatigue at the end of the day, your nutritionist and GI doctor can be a great help if you tell them what you are trying to identify. Your support team should be able to also help you find the best route to do this. Also note this does not have to be an allergy but a reaction to insufficient nutrients when dealing with certain foods. For example peanuts are very high in histamines and mold and that is exhausting in general, that may not be your reason but out of concern it is good to look into the peanuts along with any other chronic food pattern you have. Objectivity in an organized log will reveal things you may never consider, please for goodness sake do not rely on memory nor emotions, they will keep objectivity from your observations, especially if your are autistic. You can also consider adding greens of you tolerance and choice to every meal, it makes a big difference in feeling good, trying it in tiny amounts and increasing slowly will heal the gut as well, but at your pace and with your support system. Jacqui, this is only out of a motherly-like concern for you as well as a lifecoach, I have helped many edit their lives for various reasons for decades, because it comes natural to me to read people in their situations, a good counselor can also help you, but it takes time to find one that works, but so worth it. As always daily prayers to all of you, keep moving forward! Godspeed!
Chronically Jaquie I left a separate comment too, but wanted to make a gentle suggestion. Tricare has case managers for folks with complicated illnesses. You may want to call back and ask them to help you apply for one. Doesn't hurt to try, and those folks are wonderful. :-)
You probably won't read this and that's okay. I was recently diagnosed with chronic Pancreatitis and it's really hard dealing with the pain and the depression, but your videos have helped me so mush. You're so amazing and bright, you have such a positive outlook on everything and that's what I've been trying to do. You helped me so much thank you 💜
On your toes means ready and alert. I believe it is related to a runners start position. If your feet are flat you are not ready to move quickly, if you are up on your toes you are better able to move in any direction.
I just found this channel recently and I just want you to know it is such a Godsend. I just feel like I am not alone in my chronic illnesses. I will be praying for you for sure! Sending love and strength to all of yall!
Your faith is inspiring! I love your honesty. Not everything is super great all the time but you clearly look for the blessings in the chaos. Sending prayers your way!
I have never met someone as brave and strong as you. The way you get through each day with everything you have to go through is amazing and inspiring. Keep being amazing Jaquie!
I'm so sorry your not feeling so well today, and I understand your not responding to comments today BUT I hope you at least see this post.....As a past practicing RN for 22 years and having to medically retire about 2 years ago due to chronic illness and multiple spine surgeries for Ankylosing Spodylitis there has never been anyone as inspiring and comforting as you ❤ always treating chronically ill patients I believe prepared me to deal with my own issues, but never have I met or seen one as positive and passionate about spreading awareness as you and for that I thank You! I just found you and watched each and every video over the last week and you are a beautiful human being girl, I wish there were more people like you spreading this awareness, and the support you get from Judd is amazing, I wish there were also more people like him in this world, So from one chronic patient to another Thank YOU, keep up the great work and I'm sending you positive energy, much love and tons of support😚 you and your family are always in my thoughts and prayers God bless you Jacqie you truly are an inspiration ❤
I love how grateful and appreciative you are of Judd and Harlow and how optimistic you are, regardless of your current situation/status. I'm sure it helps Judd in his role as a caregiver to have such an appreciative and thankful wife. You are truly an inspiration. I hope you are feeling better these days and having less migraines. ❤️❤️
i am new to your channel and i want to tell you that you are very strong and confident. I my self was born with severe CHD and at my teens developed PAH so i know how hard it is to fight constantly and stay positive with a chronic illness. Keep up the good work!
I hope you feel better soon and get in lots of hippo hugs and kisses xo I know how much migraines take out of you, mine are killer as well so make sure you rest up!! and Judd is definitely a rock star, there needs to be more men in the world like him.... You got yourself a good one :)
I'm also chronically ill and feel alone alot, because no one really understands. But watching your video's make me feel I'm not alone and your positivity and strength give me hope! thank you
I love watching your videos, as someone with a chronic illness. It makes me so happy to see youtubers that I can roughly relate too. Although we have something completely different, I'm still able to relate. I was born with Heart Disease, I'm missing three-quarters of my heart. I have a lot of issues with breathing, moving around and many other things I often wear a vogmask as well, to help with some things and I've been trying to get an alert dog. I'm 19 and I had three open heart surgeries, just like you people can't always tell that I'm ill and I wish more people knew that not all chronic illnesses are visible.
I've only been following your vlogs for a few days now, and I just wanted to say thanks for sharing your daily stuggels with us. You are truly inspiring. I mean, somedays I feel really down just because of something silly that happened at work. And here u are stuggeling with physical health issues on a daily bases... I can't Imagine how frustrating it must be for you, yet you always try to find something positive in everything. Its really inspiring and a reminder for the rest of us out here just how much we have to be grateful for and how much to be thankful for that God has given us. Sending you Lots of love all the way from South Africa... PS - Harlow is soooooooo adorable. Sweetest little doggie ever !
I've been watching your videos the whole day and I literally think you are the most down to earth person. I know that we can only see a small part of your life, but I can feel you as my friend, not just as a youtuber, and I'm glad I found your channel! Wish you only the best and I impatiently look forward to your next video!❤️
I hope you're feeling better today than yesterday! Judd is such a great guy! I've noticed since I first subscribed that your views are really climbing, which is awesome!
I feel very grateful that i don't get migrane's and only headaches. I can see here as well as some of my friends who have them that they are a nightmare!! I hope u feel better soon ❤️
I hope you are feeling better now. Don't let insurance stress you out. If something gets messed up, it usually can be fixed with a phone call. I've been through transitions before. I also have chronic illnesses. 💗
I like these vlogs because I also have chronic illnesses and no we're near how bad you have it though but it gives me some interesting info on some other chronic illness and this Family is just plain out amazing!
HI Jaquie , Judd and Harlow. I love you guys. I have type 1 Diabetes ( for 16 years now) and have an Insulin pump. I just want to say that even though you are much sicker than I am I really feel for you, Living with diseases like you have is really tough and even though you are always super sick you are happy and try to live your life as best you can. I hope you get better soon. Sending you guys lots of love from South Africa.
Hey jaquie I just want to let you know my dad is in the military and so I'm on tri care I'm 17 and physically disabled so I'm in a wheelchair and my experience with tri care has never been good about 2 years ago I was using a loaner manual chair because mine broke And all I had at the time was my power chair but we couldn't afford a wheelchair accessible van I know way to transport it my physical therapist told tri care I need I new manual and just to clarify for this next part I cannot walk or stand by myself and I didn't have my service dog at the time so there is no way for me to get around without it tri care denied The new chair because I had my power chair however I can't get it around like I said and they were questioning my need for a cushion for my chair as well as a need for a chair in though it clearly states I cannot walk or stand out by myself and it took my therapist a year and five appeals and the one doctor and the insurance company that actually could read to states that I did need the chair and then two more months to get the back of the chair and the seat cushion because tri care called a cushion and back a luxury items even though I also have scoliosis Point being they could possibly challenge you on anything i'm not saying they will but they do it a lot all my friends on tri care had a problem with one thing or other i'm not saying you shouldn't go through with it they might actually be good to you but I just thought I'd warn you about how they can be also by the way me and my service dog love your channel and it's inspired us to start are own channel to help people in wheelchairs owner train the way we did
Brie Hall Sounds like an issue a lot of us have with our medical care. I don't think there is a perfect system at the minute where we all get the help we need. Hopefully one day!
I have a few chronic illnesses as well, and it always seems that when Jac has a bad day I have one too. Yesterday was pretty bad for me. I fell over a few times because of my vertigo/dizziness and migraines. Today was a hard day too. Just nauseous the entire day with no relief. I hope that today is going better for everyone else though!!
Also regarding Tricare, check out the supplement plans that will pay your out of pocket expenses. Many of the supplemental plans are very inexpensive, and they can really help with the copays and your out of pockets. My son's was less than $50 a month and well worth it esp since you do have so many medical needs. Good luck!
I'm so happy you get the care you need, you deserve it so much. I just wish that every one in the world got the care they need. But glad you can keep moving forward! ::thumbs up::
I feel ya girl. I get migraines at least once a month and I just lay there the whole day in pain. Sometimes it carries on for 2. But I shouldn't complain because you go through worse.
I just realized having Sensory Processing Disorder, Seizures, and Migraines all at once would suck because you are already sound and light sensitive so it would just make everything even worse.
Headaches, whether it be a migraine or nerve related (occipital or trigeminal), are horrid😢 I'm sending ((gentle hugs)) and prayers. I'm waiting for insurance to approve the occipital nerve block so my headache will ease up. #SpoonieStrong💪
I love you so much and I look forward to your vlogs everyday and when I see I my day gets so much better I hope you feel better soon and keep fighting it will get better!.💜💜💙💙💚💚
I'm feeling your pain right now when it comes to migraines. I had a horrific one that lasted all week long last week! I believe because I acted as quickly as possible I was able to avoid barfing all over my living room carpet this time. (Lol) For me, I've found that heat works better than ice for my migraines. And since I can take warmer showers, I'll stand under the showerhead and just let the water run over my face, eyes, sides of my head and the back of my neck, alternating between the pulsating & the regular shower head setting. If I can't stand in the shower because I'm too much pain to do it, I'll pull down the hose and do it right over the side of the tub. And I manage to get some relief that way. My physical limitations aren't quite as severe as yours so I'm lucky I can do this. And I will take a hydrocodone for this although they're meant for my back pain. I don't care! Whatever works. Right? But if you want, try heat instead of ice because ice will constrict the blood vessels in your head, while on the other hand heat will release them. It's pretty amazing! I can see how benadryl can help some of your headaches as well because sometimes they're related to the sinuses. I'm not saying they're always sinus headaches, no. But that could be only part of it since you have severe allergies. I hope you feel better soon!
My mom suffers from I think chronic migraines that were caused by trauma to the head and neck.. Something's that work for her is Advil, ice packs on her neck, and Avoiding all light! I think those might help if you get another migraine
If you soak your meds in water for a few hours rather than crush them, they break up much better and reduce risk of clogging. Just a quick tip if you do end up needing to get pills down your tube cx
So glad it didn't take you long at DEERS. The government closed ALL the TRICARE offices on 01APR14, so it's been mailing apps in only since then. :-( Hopefully the enrollment process will go as smoothly as the ID card. May I suggest you call the number back and ask if you can speak to someone to see if you qualify for case management? They are really helpful when it comes to major chronic illness and coordination of care. ❤️❤️❤️
Be careful with the overlapping insurance thing. It can make them argue that the other insurance is the one responsible. It may actually add some extra complication to the transition.
Have you ever tried or do you think essential oils would help with your migraines? I get them every now and then and they always make me super nauseous to the point where even placing the pill in my mouth makes me sick. My friend works at an essential oils store and she recommended peppermint essential oil and it always helps whenever I can't take a pill. Not sure if it would be any different for your situation but maybe it's worth trying
Victoria I'm not sure I know for me I have asthma and allergies I can't use essential oils at all the smell alone sends me into an allergy attack but it has definitely helped other people, it could very well assist her well
Aww :( I know how you feel. I woke up in the middle of the night last night with a horrible migraine. I didn't know you could take benadryl for it though.. I might have to try that. I hope you feel better soon!
I have Tricare and make sure you get all of you PCP's on the same page. Also, make sure you get all your referrals in order so you do not lapse in your appt.s, because trust me.... Tricare is great but they do not do anything fast. So good luck :) I hope you feel better :)
Adding to this, the supplemental plans for tricare are definitely something to look into. Used it for years for my son, much more cost effective if you have chronic illnesses.
You may want to look in to sublingual tabs, dissolving tabs so to speak, that act a lot faster and don"t need to be swallowed for your medications that may not come in liquid form. I know some migraine medications ( Maxalt ) comes in this form. I hope this helps.
I went to the px once in Killeen with my roommates it was quite the experience. The only thing was because I wasn't driven no we didn't have my handicap sticker. I was so tired afterwords. It was an experience for me and my roommates. I was exposed to the base and my friends so how tired I can get with very little effort
hope you get rid of your headache, with this degenerative disk disease i get frequent headaches they seem to be getting worse over time.think i,m going to see a arthritis special doctor or a doctor who specializes in degenerative disk disease.
i have a brain tumor, and a lot of times i would get REALLY bad headaches. If yours are getting worse and its not because of DDD. you may want to see neurologist asap. i hope you get better though! best of luck to you :)
most of them are stuck up. mine couldn't figure out what was wrong with me until i was diagnosed with gastroparesis. good luck on the hunt my friend :)
One time at school, someone asked me if I saw "the glass of water half full or half empty" it's an expression that indicates that a particular situation could be a cause for optimism (half full) or pessimism (half empty). I didn't know what it meant at the time, so I just said, there's no glass of water here, so what are you even talking about? lol people looked at me like I was stupid and maybe I am or I might be autistic too, who knows >_
I have chronic migraines and if I go to the doctor or hospital for it benadryl is the first thing they'll give me. Like others said, it has to do with swelling in the brain, and in other cases migraines can be caused by allergies in which case it's also treated with benadryl. I do take preventative medication too but the good part about benadryl is that it helps with nausea and vomiting, and migraines can cause that too. I hope this answers your question! 💜
Have you tried pinching the feeding tube a little bit prior to disconnecting the tube feeding and then connecting the syringe? This is what I have to do with a lot of patients (I work as a Med-Surg RN) to help prevent liquid from back splashing out of the tubing.
migraines are awful!! I've been getting chronic migranes n unilateral headaches we're working on finding out why but it's so difficult ontop of everything else. I never thought to use Benadryl so I'm happy you showed that!! I do use ice packs- Walmart has a great one for $5 that wraps around your head so it stays on while your sitting up or laying down ect. Ice and Tylenol are my best friends lol and cola! it helps my nausea n headaches some. I hope you're feeling better today and no migranes! ❤
Raven Moore I use ice packs too & get migraines a lot. I didn't know walmart had like a wrap around ice pack - I'll hafta look for it at my local store,
jroostah I meant to include the link so here it is! www.walmart.com/ip/MIGRAINE-H-C-WRAP/100320598?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222228045573862&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=100192688792&wl4=pla-201839163872&wl5=1018127&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=100320598&wl13=&veh=sem you can even buy it online but it should be by the vitamins ect. mine was on the end cap. I have 2 bc I like to have them always ready n sometimes i still want the ice pack after its warm up. I also use them to cool me down on hot days bc I'm very sensitive to the heat. you can use the packs hot too I guess, I just never have bc ice helps my headaches more. hope this helps!!
I have been on a migraine preventive medicine for years but have noticed lately that it hasn't been working as well. Next time I get one I might try some benedictory as it won't hurt anything.

harlow is so sweet, just laying by her side 💕
I highly recommend upgrading your TriCare to at least Prime. It's a few more $ a month but it gives you more options for care.
Laura Martell we don't have that option, Judd is NG. Our plan is a good one (:

Feel better. Sending prayers. I'm glad you got the health insurance worked out. Let's hope its a smooth transition.
Notifications on! I love watching your vlogs so much Jaquie!
GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!...I'm sorry you got so sick :(.....but thankful Judd was there to help..Harlow melts my heart xo
Really hope you feel better today Jaquie! And that you can get more a rest today Judd x
Hope you are feeling better by the time that this is up ❤️ love you xx
I absolutely LOVE Harlow's adorable frog-leg position. My little chihuahua mix does the same thing and it is SO.CUTE.
Happy birthday Harlow!
Good luck!
Harlow must be a godsend! What a beautiful animal! I love how she was totally spread eagled on the floor! So cute!
Stay strong. Thinking of you both.
Jaquie I am praying for migraine relief and some good rest for you.
I'm so happy you get the care you need, you deserve it so much. I just wish that every one in the world got the care they need. But glad you can keep moving forward! ::thumbs up::
Kinking the feeding tube while changing syringes will keep it from leaking on you. Love watching you and Harlow 🐶💜
Hi! I hope you are feeling better! I get chronic migraines too and I understand you completely, hope it has gone away now. Greetings from Canada!
Happy Birthday Har!! 🎈🎉🐾
Happy birthday to hippo!!!!😊❤️
Happy Birthday Harlow
My mom suffers from I think chronic migraines that were caused by trauma to the head and neck.. Something's that work for her is Advil, ice packs on her neck, and Avoiding all light! I think those might help if you get another migraine
stay strong💗💗
Harlow is the cutest little puppy 🐶 ever
Happy birthday Harlow
Love from Sweden❤
yesss!!! Judd piling the cheese on the spaghetti!!! i do that too!
JAQUIE I LOVE YOU I HOPE THAT YOUR ARE FEELING WELL
If you soak your meds in water for a few hours rather than crush them, they break up much better and reduce risk of clogging.
I also have autism and diagnosed at age 17, now I'm 28.
I hope this helps.
omfg judd, would you like spaghetti with all that cheese...lol
To help you a bit: on your toes can mean alert or on your guard
Love watching your blog. I learn a lot. Glad you have a supportive husband 😘
I went to the px once in Killeen with my roommates it was quite the experience. The only thing was because I wasn't driven no we didn't have my handicap sticker. I was so tired afterwords. It was an experience for me and my roommates. I was exposed to the base and my friends so how tired I can get with very little effort
Btw, Judd IS a total rock star!!!!
I know the pain of a migraine..they really suck..hope u feel better after meds
hope you get rid of your headache, with this degenerative disk disease i get frequent headaches they seem to be getting worse over time.think i,m going to see a arthritis special doctor or a doctor who specializes in degenerative disk disease.
Carla Page Im sorry to but in, but you really should consider a neurologist. They are better at diagnosing the corolation.
i have a brain tumor, and a lot of times i would get REALLY bad headaches. If yours are getting worse and its not because of DDD. you may want to see neurologist asap. i hope you get better though! best of luck to you :)
my nuerologist dumped me like a hot potato!!! so i will have to find a new one!!!!
most of them are stuck up. mine couldn't figure out what was wrong with me until i was diagnosed with gastroparesis. good luck on the hunt my friend :)
The Cyborg NOO! :( that makes me sad. Can't they remove it?
One time at school, someone asked me if I saw "the glass of water half full or half empty" it's an expression that indicates that a particular situation could be a cause for optimism (half full) or pessimism (half empty). I didn't know what it meant at the time, so I just said, there's no glass of water here, so what are you even talking about? lol people looked at me like I was stupid and maybe I am or I might be autistic too, who knows >_
I feel so bad for you 🙁
yet another thing I learned from you....benedryl for migraines! feel better
I saw today that Walmart has Oreo and S'mores Cereal now!
I have had chronic migraines ever since I was 8 years old and also some days are worse than others with my migraines
I have the same hat as Judd and love it!
I used to give myself IM Benadryl injections for NDPH. I don't use it anymore because of cardiac issues but it was a little helpful.
honest question. how does the benadryl help with the migraine?
Some Migraines are caused by or have some swelling of the brain and Benadryl can help relieve pressure and pain. Hope that helped!
Victoria Elguea thanks! that's does make some sense!
Is liquid Benadryl preffered over pills or capsules to help with migraine? I am just asking an opinion, not medical advice.
Clare Dolber liquid or they have dissolvable melts... Its faster when you have a migraine or an allergic reaction.
Military = hurry up and wait
I've been having migraines and bad pain for a week so I completely relate.
I didn't know walmart had like a wrap around ice pack - I'll hafta look for it at my local store,
jroostah I meant to include the link so here it is!
www.walmart.com/ip/MIGRAINE-H-C-WRAP/100320598?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222228045573862&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=100192688792&wl4=pla-201839163872&wl5=1018127&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=100320598&wl13=&veh=sem
you can even buy it online but it should be by the vitamins ect. mine was on the end cap. I have 2 bc I like to have them always ready n sometimes i still want the ice pack after its warm up. I also use them to cool me down on hot days bc I'm very sensitive to the heat. you can use the packs hot too I guess, I just never have bc ice helps my headaches more. hope this helps!!
Raven Moore thank you! I'll hafta take a look in that department next time I go, I would never have thought to look there lol! thanks!
hey just catching up on your vlogs, I was wondering do u not have a clamp on your feeding tube? will prevent it leaking when its unattached to feed .
I have been on a migraine preventive medicine for years but have noticed lately that it hasn't been working as well. Next time I get one I might try some benedictory as it won't hurt anything.
