The public does tend to believe that chronic illness diagnoses are static, unchanging things. That is *very much* not the case. It's difficult enough dealing with what is constant, but the guesswork in managing changing symptoms drives us just as crazy.
I've been watching this channel since I was twelve. Jacquie was such an amazing person, and her videos are helping me through my journey, recently my symptoms have progressed sharply and all the resources and information she put out help so much.
My husband broke his tungsten carbide ring almost the exact same way! He had just washed his hands and he was waving then back and forth, it slid off his hand and it chipped off and cracked all the way through. The jeweler said he hadn't ever seen someone break one so glad to see its not just my hubby.
you are SOOOO right. I can be having an okay day with my Crohn' s disease and POTS and Fybro the next day not so much... We are lucky to live in an age where we do have to tools available to try and help us function day to day. hugs to you both....
I just got out of the hospital yesterday. I feel really crappy because of all the drugs that were given to me. But your video made me smile today, my Chronic Illnesses have been changing on me lately and I've been doing my best to keep up with them. Watch your videos and other youtubers with chronic illnesses and seeing the support you guys have in your lives. Make me happy and smile, because I know that I'm not weird and I'm not the only one with a chronic illness
I just want to day thank you Jaquie for making me smile. We have to put my dog down tomorrow and I'm tiring to take my mind off of my sadness. You make me so so happy and I want to thank for your continuous positive attitude! Keep smiling and don't let the chronic illnesses get you down!💕
Your mother has beautiful hair. It was really nice to see you and Judd sitting on the floor talking about your chronic illnesses and how you have tools.
I just had a thought come to me; an added benefit of vlogging when you're chronically ill, a chronic illness warrior can show their vlogs to their doctors possibly for a visual of how they are doing, which could help in doctor's appts etc.
Custard is basically just ice cream with more egg yolk, which makes it thicker and creamier! It's not very common in the US but the chain fast food place they mention, Culver's, is known for it.
I only starting watching you a couple months ago but you are such an amazing human being I have never seen someone with so much resilience and is also so humble and beautiful. Keep up your incredible work!!!
Hi jaquie I have neurofibromatosis and three inoperable brain tumours and stage four liver disease! I may be in pain but I don't show it but I love watching your videos you and Harlow make my day
I'm always so happy to see your positive vlogs!!!! Life is all about adapting, and of course with your chronic illnesses, adapting to your changes is a necessity and I'm so glad that you're addressing those changes so positively. 😊💓
Jaquie I can completely relate with Oreos. They made a s'more cookie for the summer time and my family gives me a hard time since I get just as excited when I see them. However can't find them his year :( wishing you Judd and Harlow all the best. Thanks for making these videos one of the best parts of my day .
I hate to see you suffer but I am allowed to feel normal when I can not complete what seems like simple tasks. I to have completely depleted all my energy in the grocery store. I feel so self conscious when I can barely walk to car. I have had to nap just to drive the 3 miles to my house. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I get so much emotional support from you and other TH-cam chronically ill family. Bill
I wish we had the Oreo cereal here in Canada too! Also, for pulled pork, the simplest way to make it is... put pulled pork in the slow cooker submerged in root beer. Cook for 6-8 hours in slow cooker. Drain, shred, and mix with BBQ sauce. If you want it extra flavourful, put it back in the slow cooker for 1-2hrs on low.
i'm a new subscriber and i have some illnesses also that keeps me from doing a lot of things i would love to do. watching your videos made me realize i'm not the only one struggling with my chronic illness. thank you so much for being honest and up front with everything.
They definitely have a very nice natural shape to them. Janiece probably thinks that they would just look cleaner if you plucked them! However you are very lucky to have that natural arch shape! I have it too!
There's a local/family owned ice cream place near my house that's on a farm, and they make all their ice cream from scratch (starting all the way down at their own cows) and it is sooooo good. They also make sandwiches and make all their bread and cheese from scratch, and I'm pretty sure they get their meat from another local farm. It's seriously the best though I wish I could send you guys some
She’s so cute with her Oreo cereal thing lol 💕 Jaquie, I found you after you’d passed, and I’m working my way through all of your vlogs... when I get to the end I know I’m going to miss you for ever. Love you Jaq xxx
You're so inspirational! I enjoy watching your videos. I've dealt with major GI issues for a few years now and it's easy for me to feel sorry for myself. It makes Me depressed sometimes to never feel good, but you've inspired me for sure... to always see the positives. I was recently diagnosed with gastroparesis. If you have any advice for me on that id really appreciate it. Especially on what to eat. Xo
You should try going to a store that specializes in running shoes. They can look at your arches, which side of your feet you put more weight on, how you walk, etc. and find you shoes that might help with your ankle pain.
I really like your videos and have watched many of them! Especially the ones about Harlow! I have a service dog myself to help me with my deafness. And if you wonder how I can hear what you say in your videos, it is because I partially read your lips but also use my Cochlear implants. I don't pick up on everything but I can understand and figure out most of it. And I admire you for your strength with handling the extra challenges presented to you in life. I also admire you for your openness about your chronic illnesses.
My dad is nearly 100% deaf and also lip reads. I am trying to get all my videos professionally captioned for the deaf and HOH community (: The TH-cam auto captions are not very accurate, as I am sure you know lol!
Auto captions can be really hilarious, especially when TH-cam tries to auto generate the British English accent. You are American so I think TH-cam has an easier time auto generating subtitles for your videos. Either way, I like that you face your camera as often as you can. It makes it a lot easier to read your lips. :D... And it makes it a bit more personal too. I have to read lips because as awesome as Cochlear implants can be, they are not perfect. And the same can be said for auto generated captions!!! Do you use sign language with your father or is his deafness the result of age?
I do the same recipe for the pork. However it won't shred if it isn't in there long enough. 6-8 hours at least. The longer it's in there the more tender and easier to chew and digest, it will get. After shredding let it sit in the sauce a little longer and absorb it. I think I know what I'm making for dinner now 😋
every time I read "chronic illness", I read it in jaquies voice lol. the Frey life had "chronic illness" in her vlog title yesterday and I read it in your voice. riveting! lol
OMG your face with the custard was hysterical!!!! When Dairy Queen opened in our town they had to close a lane of traffic for a week because the line went so far down our main street!!!
You and your Oreo cereal is like me and French toast crunch... ten years of my childhood being discontinued... it has returned!!! Glad it made you feel better
Jaquie, I thought you were going insane these past few weeks about the cereal. I knew it was discontinued, but I never heard it was coming back. I was sure your search was futile. Glad to see you got your cereal though!
Hey Jaquie, love your channel. I'm sick with EDS, POTS, and many more. I just wanted to say the way to make shredded meats is to basically overcook them. So it looked like it just needed to cook longer. I love slow cooker meals, makes my life much easier. Thank you for all your positivity and informative videos. I wish you well.
It makes me happy to see you eating different foods and taking joy in the taste even though your illnesses make it hard to eat much. I've had many digestive issues since I was a kid. In fourth grade I think I was absent at least one day a week because I felt so ill. So over the years I've tried cutting out various foods that I thought might be part of the problem (like pork) and tried introducing foods I thought might help (like yogurt). I was also on daily medications for two years. Some of it has helped, others not so much. But I still love food. I hope you keep enjoying food and life in general. Also Harlow is so pretty and smart.
thank you for all your vlogs. I have learned a lot when it comes to training my service dog. Well she is trained but as you said it yourself they are always learning.
I have acid reflex I know how you feel not being able to digest foods properly. I have loved watching your videos lately and having someone who understand digestive problems
Hot Devon custard is the best! I can never tell the difference when I get frozen custard to ice cream lol. I've found Skechers memory foam trainers and Tevas have been very good with my ankle, knee, hip pain but they're starting to not be enough and I'm having to rely on my crutch (or rollator more), just waiting for my knee supports! Good luck with the doctor, hope they can help with the pain and get a plan in place! Another great blog ☺️
jroostah I know I'm a month late but, to answer your question, the reference was: I've done my waiting 10 years of it!! (Sirius Black says that in hp 3 but he says '12 years of it! In azkaban!!!')
frozen custard is different from ice cream because it has more egg and less air in it! It is spun at crazy high speeds and frozen very quickly to make sure it's nice and creamy. It's much more dense
If you ever try that pulled pork recipe again, I would use pork butt as your cut of meat. It usually has more flavor and it pulls apart like pulled pork should. Also, even though you have all these illnesses, whenever I watch you, you never seem to stop smiling. You always look on the bright side and Judd is right there with you as well. You encourage me so much. Thank you Jaquie.
We used pork butt but it was still so tough, I think I needed to put it on low for 8 hours, not high for 4. And thank you! I think smiling is a great thing to do through tough times (:
I can relate, I have all kinds of tendonitis. You might fight that walking on softer surfaces (e.g wood) is easier on your achilles. Running shoes with a good cushion might help
Tungsten carbide is extremely scratch resistant but is prone to shatter because the material does not flex to absorb shock. The exact same thing happened to my guys ring. He washed his hands and while shaking them off the ring slipped and broke into 16 pieces. Hopefully you are able to get a new one :)
It makes me so happy to watch you and your family ❤️❤️☺️😘🐾 I am a newer subscriber of yours but you're definitely a cool and tough chick! I live in the panhandle but if I'm ever in Tampa, let's grab Menchies😂😉 you are a strong lady! And thank you SO SO much for notifying me Oreo's cereal is back; That's my childhood in a cardboard box ❤️❤️
I watch your videos because I have gastro paresis and asthma and migraines also severe anxiety . My sister has Austio Genesis imperfecta and asspburgers sensory processing disorder. My mom has lupus immune disorder and diabetes. A lot of times my dad calls me a hypochondriac but not my mom or sister idk why. Everyone says I'm too young to be sick I'm almost 12 you are great youtuber I watch you every day love your vids so so so so so much you are a great inspiration and you educate everyone who watches you and I respect that thank you. Also Judd is so awesome thank him to for supporting you. :)
So happy you found your cereal!! I might have to just go buy a box 😉 The other day I was able to go to downtown Chicago for some of my appointments. (I live In the city) I found out I have a terminal blood disorder, I'm only 16. I determined to live life to the fullest! 💜 I'm hoping to when school starts I'll be able to attend. 💜💜
I need Oreos cereal now. It was so funny watching you grab the boxes. Made me smile seeing how that made your day. Hey when you have been waiting this long you got to stock up!
it may sound weird, but i have ankle tendinitis and the best way to stop the pain is to stick your feet in a bucket of ice water for about 5-10 minutes (or however long you can tolerate 😂) and it really does help, i try to do it once a day but it helps for about a half and hour to an hour and a half!! it's pretty amazing and much better then ice, i try to ice my feet right before i head off to bed! hope this helps 💕
The vanilla mault from Culver's is the best and the pumpkin pie one omg but that's a seasonal one 😫. And I'm hoping they come out with the variety of Oreos cereal cause I loved it with the marshmallows too
For the pork, if you get a pork butt, place it in the crock pot with a can of dr pepper or diet coke and cook almost all day on low. Pull it out, and it should shred well. Then place back into the crockpot and stir in the BBQ sauce. It works wonderfully
Hi Jacquie! The restaurant I work at has custard instead of ice cream and I didn't understand why it was different either. Custard is just more egg based than ice cream is
How was the pork? It probably could have used a little more time but it still looked tasty. If you don't feel like shredding it by hand next time, use an electric hand mixer to shred it in the slow cooker. It takes literally seconds. Anyway, good to see you had a better day yesterday 😀 those rare days are such a relief when we get em.
I live in Wisconsin where Culver's are EVERYWHERE lmao. (I agree though DQ is still the best) custard is definitely creamier than normal ice cream. It's cooked more and is good for people like my mom who are lactose intolerant :3
Danyell Stoerger I don't know what they put in the custard your mother is eating, but my mom (who is also lactose intolerant) cannot eat custard because it contains milk and cream. :)
AllfortheEBchildren my mom says she doesn't get bothered by custard! However, She can't have ice cream, especially from Dairy Queen Or McDonald's so idk man. Everybody's different :)
Danyell Stoerger when I was younger I was lactose intolerant and I was so sad when I couldn't have Culver's or Kopps when we traveled about twice a year to Wisconsin.
I started having problems with tendonitis in my ankles even with custom orthotics for my flat feet from eds. My orthotist recommended stiff sole shoes because regular soles plus my floppy ankles made my leg muscles have to work extra hard. Of course, listen to your body and your doctors, and don't put too much faith in the advice of a random commenter, but it might be something to consider until you have a chance to see a doctor.
I had to laugh about Hippo when y'all was eating the custard. I know it a big no no, my SD's do the same thing. one of my SD's try to act like not looking or begging it's cute. she's a total different dog with her vest on. lol
Beautiful job on your mums hair she looked great 👑 and I love the headbands you have been wearing too they look awesome Jaquie. You had been waiting for that cereal for so long think I would have filled the trolley up with it 😂 ! So nice to see more of Judd in the vlogs he has a wicked sense of humour .... I have 3 boys ... 20, 16 and Hubby .... Lol .... they all have a sense of humour that is wicked too so never a dull moment here .. always nice to have a good laugh... Take Care and Hugs from Australia ... 1.16 am here but have been staying up late to watch you 😴😴😴😴Nite....
I have a question. Are you still working towards the IVIG or is it on the back burner until you get everything sorted out ?? Because I know you were waiting on the home health company to get ins. figured out, I just haven't been hearing you talk about it in a while, so I figured I'd ask :)
if Judd massage your ankle, does it help with your ankle pain? just a suggestion. or some kind of accutuncture? or heating pad? lucky!! you found the Oreo cereal!! childhood memories are the best!! I can't find it here yet!!
Have you thought about trying liquid children's pain relievers (Tylenol, etc) in your feeding tube (like you did with the liquid Benedryl) ? I'm sure over-the-counter pain relievers aren't enough when you have a migraine, but maybe it could help prevent a more minor headache from progressing into a migraine?
That is actually a really good idea that I have not thought of! I just have to be careful with artificial flavorings in OTC kids meds due to my Mast Cell. OTC meds do not help my migraines but if I could actually absorb the med maybe it would help more. (:
I feel this one especially rn. Just found out from by podiatrist that when i step my joints sublux in my feet and in result i have tendinitis in basically every tendon in both of my feet plus my Achilles tendons. Makes so much sense which is great and honestly not surprising with my eds lol
Please see a physical therapist! I think I have hypermobile ankles and I did strengthening exercises after spraining one for like the third time and it helped so much. Super easy band exercises. You can do them sitting down.
Dear Jaquie, I went to my doctor yesterday because I am nauseous all the time, I get very dizzy and lightheaded at random times and that also happens a lot. I also have very shaky legs, pains in my chest and right arm and a blurred vision. I think it might be P.O.T.S., but my doctor (who had to look up what is was first) said it couldn't be P.O.T.S. because that is an illness only for elderly people. He also blamed my age for the other problems. He told us that my nausea was coming from a bacteria in my stomach. I know that a bacteria can cause a lot of symptoms, but isn't it very "coincidental" that my symptoms are also symptoms of P.O.T.S.? I looked up the most cummon symptoms of P.O.T.S. and I have all of them except I don't faint. I just really need some advice from someone who also got the diagnosis at a younger age. Thank you so much for sharing your story, Jaquie, you are amazing💙💙
Okay that is SO not like custard we have in England... it's a thick vanilla flavoured sauce yellow in colour made usually with cornflour which thickens as it heats. You can buy it instant as well, serve it hot or cold. Usually with pie or crumble or something, but I like eating it just on its own hehe.
This may sound a little silly, but have you considered trying to get a table closest to the bathroom when you eat out? I know you've probably already thought of it! But doesn't hurt to ask. I does suck that sometimes those tables are occupied or you have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom.
My joints are hyper-mobile I can dislocate most at will and my ribs get stuck a lot even. I haven't really pursued any eds stuff but I do get some medication from my GP for chronic joint pain. I've noticed that it kind of rotates which joint is really sore. Like these last two weeks the end joint of my big toe keeps subluxing and getting swollen. I keep having to pop them and ice especially the under side. My right shoulder too these last few weeks. But before that it was my elbows and before that my right wrist and ankles.
The public does tend to believe that chronic illness diagnoses are static, unchanging things. That is *very much* not the case. It's difficult enough dealing with what is constant, but the guesswork in managing changing symptoms drives us just as crazy.

The jeweler said he hadn't ever seen someone break one so glad to see its not just my hubby.
That is exactly what Judd did!
Chronically Jaquie What a weird coincidence!!
That's the point of them. They shatter instead of bending so if one gets their finger smashed at the ring it it should right come off. Kim
TheTandumbs perhaps a titanium ring or one made from a durable metal may work better?
you are SOOOO right. I can be having an okay day with my

I laughed so hard when you tried to grab more than one Oreo-Os box. I got three when I found them 😂 #worth
Lol that is how many I wanted!
You guys are one of the strongest people I've met and a great model to everyone: with or without chronic illness.
I just want to day thank you Jaquie for making me smile. We have to put my dog down tomorrow and I'm tiring to take my mind off of my sadness. You make me so so happy and I want to thank for your continuous positive attitude! Keep smiling and don't let the chronic illnesses get you down!💕
Judd's Harry Potter reference made me so happy! I hope you get the ankle pain under control ❤️
Thank you, Judd, for your service, and for working on July 4th!
Your mother has beautiful hair. It was really nice to see you and Judd sitting on the floor talking about your chronic illnesses and how you have tools.

Custard in the U.K. Is yellow typically and it's served hot usually with a lot of desserts!
Steph Berry I prefer cold custard though and in asda the other day I saw frozen custard, custard is under rated I love it.
I was so confused, not sure I've ever even seen frozen custard!
Steph Berry - Where I'm from (Washington, USA) I've also only had and heard of hot custard. I was confused when she was saying frozen custard lol.
Custard is basically just ice cream with more egg yolk, which makes it thicker and creamier! It's not very common in the US but the chain fast food place they mention, Culver's, is known for it.

OH YEAH GOT HERE IN LESS THAN A MINUTE! Love you Jaquie💗💗💗

Happy to know Har and I can bring a smile to your face! (: I understand the pain situation. Most of the time, people cannot tell when I am in pain.

summer and angel 12 I love her eyebrows 😍😊
Lol thank you! I do not do anything to them, Janiece says I need to pluck them haha ;D
They definitely have a very nice natural shape to them. Janiece probably thinks that they would just look cleaner if you plucked them! However you are very lucky to have that natural arch shape! I have it too!
dont listen to her lol her eyebrows look scary lol yours look great.
Eyebrows are more of a personal preference. Different styles will work for different people depending on what they like.

Yay I am glad to see you had a good day! 😊 I love seeing you and Judd spend the day together. You two are adorable ❤

Hi
Avery vlogs Mcgill Hi!
Valenzia Jones I subscribe to your TH-cam channel
Avery vlogs Mcgill Thanks so did I
Thank you :D
That is the best analogy ever. It's like using a drill over a screw driver. Gets the same job done except one is way easier to use.
thank you for all your vlogs. I have learned a lot when it comes to training my service dog. Well she is trained but as you said it yourself they are always learning.

Laura B. I'm glad you liked the Vlog! I'm wondering if the doctor will suggest PT or ankle supports. Hopefully just rest and ice (:
I'm glad you found your Oreo O's. they aren't here in Illinois yet but I hope they get here soon. Harlow is so adorable!
Nattaliey Murphy yes they are... well here in Chicago yea
Your honestly so pretty and you inspire me in life to be always positive and push through my bad days ♥️
That Harry Potter reference though 👌
Lol I didn't know he was referencing HP
Chronically Jaquie I missed it myself... maybe it just went over my head...? what was the reference?
jroostah I know I'm a month late but, to answer your question, the reference was:
I've done my waiting 10 years of it!! (Sirius Black says that in hp 3 but he says '12 years of it! In azkaban!!!')
Emma Stålhand thanks!
frozen custard is different from ice cream because it has more egg and less air in it!
I think smiling is a great thing to do through tough times (:
hi! your channel is great! keep making videos to your ability!
I can relate, I have all kinds of tendonitis. You might fight that walking on softer surfaces (e.g wood) is easier on your achilles. Running shoes with a good cushion might help
I loved Judd's Harry Potter quote about the waiting😂❤️
:( awww I hope you feel better! I love this channel so much! Keep moving on girl! 😋❤️#Oreosforlife!
Thank you!
And I'm hoping they come out with the variety of Oreos cereal cause I loved it with the marshmallows too
love your headband!!!!
For the pork, if you get a pork butt, place it in the crock pot with a can of dr pepper or diet coke and cook almost all day on low. Pull it out, and it should shred well. Then place back into the crockpot and stir in the BBQ sauce. It works wonderfully
Omg I've never been so early Harlow is sooo pretty 😍
You need to try Rita's frozen custard! It's so good! They might not have any locations in Florida, though.
I think it's so sweet that you got the silicone ring personalized! :)
Thank you! :D
You're videos inspire me so much . Thank you❤️
I have tendinitis in my ankles and feet too. It sucks but you can fight through it!
I had to laugh about Hippo when y'all was eating the custard. I know it a big no no, my SD's do the same thing. one of my SD's try to act like not looking or begging it's cute. she's a total different dog with her vest on. lol
She made us laugh because she licked Judd's ear ;D Trying to be inconspicuous
Tell Judd I appreciate that Harry Potter reference towards the oreos 😂😂😂
I have a question. Are you still working towards the IVIG or is it on the back burner until you get everything sorted out ?? Because I know you were waiting on the home health company to get ins. figured out, I just haven't been hearing you talk about it in a while, so I figured I'd ask :)
DUDE
CULVERS IS MY FAVORITE PLACE
I've only found one in Indy but I'm obsessed with it-
Love your videos. ❤️ you are so strong and brave. ❤️ I love you all stay strong ❤️❤️
if Judd massage your ankle, does it help with your ankle pain? just a suggestion. or some kind of accutuncture? or heating pad?
lucky!! you found the Oreo cereal!! childhood memories are the best!! I can't find it here yet!!
I think it will get to wherever you are soon! If it is tendonitis like my doctor suspects I just need to use ice. (:
lmao when Jaq starts picking up a million boxes of cereal. so funny!
Bless your heart:( I could tell you were fading, you started looking very pale. I pray for you daily Hun. God bless you.
People have said that I go pale or greyish when I start not feeling well, I never notice but I guess others do!
5:25 Judd is like your mom! 😂😂😂
sending love from singapore! 💓🇸🇬
Thanks for sharing about the leg rest pillow. I think it would be great for me. I'm going to look into getting one
Judd mad a Harry Potter reference!!! I don't know why that made me so happy 😂
I feel this one especially rn. Just found out from by podiatrist that when i step my joints sublux in my feet and in result i have tendinitis in basically every tendon in both of my feet plus my Achilles tendons. Makes so much sense which is great and honestly not surprising with my eds lol
In New Zealand 🇳🇿 we don't have any cereals like that I wish I could try them also you make me so happy
CULVERS ICE CREAM IS SO GOOD !!! It's like soft serve but creamier ! You have to try one of their concrete mixers! It's like a DQ blizzard !!
Omg I am eating Oreo cereal right now while watching you eat Oreo cereal😂❤️
Please see a physical therapist! I think I have hypermobile ankles and I did strengthening exercises after spraining one for like the third time and it helped so much. Super easy band exercises. You can do them sitting down.
I like them both! Try the Red Raspberry custard when it is the flavor of the day at Culvers, it has fresh raspberries in it!
i love your videos so much,im sick too and your videos with you and harlow make me smile keep up the good work❤❤❤❤
Dear Jaquie,
I went to my doctor yesterday because I am nauseous all the time, I get very dizzy and lightheaded at random times and that also happens a lot.
I have worked for years in the jewellery industry, tungsten will break when impacting with a hard surface. Although it's strong, it is brittle.
She's like a kid in the candy store with those Oreo cereal.
I hope that your pain can be relifed and that the doctors can find was to help with your illness
I'm so glad to see you eating some awesome cereal JAQ! xD
This may sound a little silly, but have you considered trying to get a table closest to the bathroom when you eat out?
I know you've probably already thought of it! But doesn't hurt to ask. I does suck that sometimes those tables are occupied or you have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom.
Your brownies always look so good!! And wow I've never heard of custard in Canada that's a peculiar dessert 🍨 ! Lmao
