I didn’t really understand master slides before and now I do ☺️ I only wish I had seen this before I started making my own planner as it would have saved me hours 😳

Hello! I don’t have the size in my head 😅 but I get my sizes by trial and error: export, try it, go back change the size if needed, try again :)

Thank you so much - I learn a great deal from watching your videos. I’ve created a planner in keynote with calendar, weekly, and daily spreads and links between each level totaling to more than 500 pages. Is there a file size that I should try to keep my keynotes file under? I fear a big lag time and slowness with the file if I have lots of links. Thanks for any guidance you can offer.
Because I sell my planners, I always aim to keep them under 20M. However I’ve used planners with larger sizes and they still work fine.. if after exporting and testing you feel like the planner is laggy, you can look into a pdf compressor online :)

Hello Carmen, glad to hear the video helped! For the links not working, make sure links are active by tapping on the pen icon on the top right in GoodNotes (which will hide the toolbar) and also check if the original file in Keynote has the links grouped, if so ungroup them and try again :)

Hi love your video! I followed it to a T but when I change things on the master slide it doesn't change on the rest. I noticed also when I created the links on the master for the months there wasn't the faded little circle either on the other slides. I would imagine the two problems are linked together. I just downloaded keynotes today is there a setting that needs set for the master slide to be the main slide?
Hello! I have noticed that sometimes for some strange reason your master is duplicated! Which means you are probably not using the right master. Just go back to your masters and make sure there is only ONE of the one you need, and that the regular slides have that one applied :) Hope this makes sense!

I am a musician and goodnote application in my hand, upload my chord archive (PDF) and use it like a repertoire book .. I bought the application and created a folder and threw the 200 pdf file into the pdf file... I can't make transitions like horizontal pages in the PDFs in the file .. So all are separate pdfs, I think there is a page pass in a single pdf ... I wonder if there is a setting ??..When we have multiple pdf files in the folder, we cannot switch to page like a notebook. :/:/????

Hello! With that version of iOS you should be getting the same I do in the video. But in any case you can always 'Copy' an item and then 'paste' it, it's the same result :)

I love this video! The only problem I have run into was I never say the "Master Slide" option. So I have just tried to follow your directions anyways.

Hello! So glad you like it :D - are you using GoodNotes? If so it’s possible you need to hide your toolbar to activate the links! Just tap on the ‘no pen’ icon at the top right, then the links should work

Thank you for the tutorial. I have the new iPad Pro and tried to get the links done. I double checked but when I did the export to GoodNotes the tabs didn’t work. I checked it and removed links and added back, but they still didn’t work. I don’t know what I did wrong.
Hello! Make sure you are in 'navigation ' mode in GoodNotes. You will have to tap on the pen icon top right corner of the page to hide the toolbar and activate the links, then you will be able to tap on them :)

Hello! If you use it on a note taking app or PDF annotation app then you can write or add images/stickers anywhere on the pages! The best apps are for iOS but android has some pretty good ones too like Penly, Noteshelf, Xodo :)

Just double check that the link number matches the number of the page :)
Hi, thanks for this! Amazing! I’m having an issue with my links. I can click on any month and it will take me to the month but any month I click after that doesn’t work. It seems I can only use a any of the links once then I need to go back to the beginning to click another one. Any ideas how I fix this? Thank you again :) happy holidays:)))
Hello! Have you noticed what page are you on when the links do work? It seems like not all pages have the proper slide applied. Make sure to check your masters and that they ALL have the correct links. Happy holidays to you too!
I am having this issue too on the first page it will link to any other but no other page has links that work.

What size should the planner be to be able to use on different devices? such as ipad and android
Each planner would have to be a different size to fit a particular device. I show exactly how to figure out this size in my class skl.sh/3bOLCEb but basically import a screenshot of the area you want to cover into Keynote, and with that you can figure out the ratio you need :)
I am new to this. I just bought the pro planner and a sticker and widget pack. I can not for the life of me figure out how to move the stickers. I am using GoodNotes?
Hello Becky! Make sure to be importing the version of the stickers & widgets ending in 'GoodNotes.zip' directly to GN without unzipping. If you did this, you should be able to see all the elements on the pages of the documents. Then, tap on the Lasso icon in your toolbar to make sure that 'Images' is turned on. You will then be able to draw a selection with the Lasso on top of the sticker you want to use, tap on that selection and click on 'Copy' to go and paste onto a page!
Hi, I was making the digital planner along with you but when I got to the end to test the buttons/ links.. instead of going to the next page, it kept popping up a link to my photo gallery. What do I do to fix that?
You mean testing the links within Keynote? I also can’t use that features some times - what you do is export to the note taking app directly and test there.. just remember to delete the test file once you’re done testing :)

Make sure you activate navigation mode 💗 tap on the pen icon at the top right in GoodNotes to hide the toolbar and activate the links !
Can you create this on keynote on a mac instead of an ipad?
Yup! It's even easier on a Mac, and you have a few more options :)

There was a recent update to Keynote. The language is now “slide layout” instead of “master slide.” The process is still the same!

What’s the best free notes app that you can use a planner with?
You can try the built in PDF viewer on the iPad (when you open in Files) - you can hand write, add text and open links, but no images (stickers) nor cute fonts..there is the free version of ZoomNotes, but I find it complicated and also very limited (no images either). I highly recommend just buying GoodNotes, Noteshelf, Notability or even the full version of ZoomNotes..one of those to fully take advantage of digital planning :)
@@PrintStick for the moment I’ve found PDF Expert. It seems ok so far. I’ve also downloaded Notepad + and Nebo for now. I’ll see how I get on with them

Make sure you activate the links by tapping on the pen icon at the top right in GoodNotes, the toolbar must be hidden otherwise the links will not work
I followed with you and did the link but I don’t have the grey arrows ??
They’re actually blue! You should be able to see them as soon as you click on ‘Link to Slide’ on an element (button). Also make sure that element is NOT part of a group, it must be ungrouped

Isa, I assume that you use the same concept as you did for the months to create a daily linked page in each month.
That is correct, you would add a link (shape) to each day :)
My links aren't working. No grayed out arrows on any of the slides except the master. I checked to see if they were grouped and they aren't.
Check if the correct master has been added to the pages :)
I cannot seem to get the links to work when trying the file in Goodnotes. I have watched and followed the video several times and even made a simple file but still doesnt work. Any guidance is appreciated!

Each time I change the month name all the slides change. How do I prevent it from happening?
Make sure you’re on the regular slides and NOT editing the Slide Layout :)
I think you need an extra row for monthly view. If the month begins on a Saturday/Sunday (Monday start) then you will won't have enough cells for 31 days.
Some people choose to divide one or more daily boxes to make them all fit :)
But yes most of the time I make enough rows to have a box per day
@@PrintStick Ah that makes sense. I guess it's a fair compromise...I'm considering making my own and was wondering how to maximize space for the days and have enough rows :).
I followed everything twice. When I change the color, the other slides do not change colors. When I export it to good notes the links are not linked. 😓 can you tell me what I am going wrong
Hello! Perhaps you are not editing the Masters being used. Go into the Masters and make sure that ALL the ones being used are properly edited.. sometimes there can be a duplicate that’s accidentally created then you don’t realize you’re editing the duplicate, and not the one being used - hope this makes sense !

@@catalinamercedes3433 ohh I should’ve figured that out 😅 so try to stay away from heavy images in your planner or anything NOT created directly in Keynote. Also if you have a ton of elements in one page consider saving the page as an image and then reimporting into Keynote instead, to have a single element (the image)..

None of the changes I made in Edit Slide Layout (like changing colors) copied to my other pages. Would you consider doing an updated version? Not even my links copied.
