Hii friends! 👋🏻 I hope you found this video helpful for learning the basics of Goodnotes 6. There was a lot to cover so I focused on the features & tools that would give you the gist of the app (study sets + interactive math tests are not covered). Please turn on the Subtitles (English) if you want to follow along and please feel free to use the Timestamps/Chapters to jump to specific sections ♥ Timestamps/Chapters: 00:00 - Intro 00:21 - Creating an account 00:47 - Main library navigation 01:43 - What you can import 02:07 - How to create folders 02:20 - Turning on Scribble 02:41 - How to create a notebook, template/cover options 03:45 - Adding new pages 04:03 - Double-tap to fill screen 04:07 - Changing the template after notebook has been created 04:40 - Horizontal and vertical scrolling 04:54 - Stylus & palm rejection 05:18 - What's in the toolbar? Hi Janice! Great video; super helpful! One thing I might have missed- how do I convert my handwriting to text? It's the reason I bought the app but can't seem to find how to do it. Can you help?
Great video. I'm a Math teacher and new to Goodnotes. This is proving to be a great demonstration tool for projecting Math notes in the classroom. I learned a *lot* from your video. Thanks a lot!
Hi Janice! Thanks for making this video. I’m a newbie to Goodnotes and digital planning it’s wonderful to learn something new to help me. Keep up the great work. 😊
Sooooo good! I’m a newbie to Goodnotes. I also purchased a digital planner. I was clueless about how to navigate the planner but honey this has me feeling READY! 😝 Thanks sooo much!
Don't know why am I watching, NOW!🙂 Few months back, when I was about to join medical college for MBBS, I used to watch ipad and good notes videos. I literally was imagining how will I set up my first ipad.....I will make notes on good notes, use notion, good notes vs notability, how will my ipad's home screen look, so on..... I thought I will convince my parents to have one (As I cleared one of the toughest competitive exam ie NEET), but sadly we couldn't afford that😢 It's okay dude, life isn't that easy for everyone 🙂 Hope after 4.5 year when I would be doing intern in medical hospital, I would get some stipend and would help my parents to purchase that. I am not writing this for sympathy - My Parents have done their best to upbring me. They are the best 😊 - This is written for the motivation and Spark to accomplish my dream All the best guys and Thanks for the tutorial 🙏
Dunno if you’ll read this.. but one of the cheapest iPads comes for 30k (9th generation), less now since it’s been 2 years since it’s out and even lesser if you buy it second hand.. All I’m saying is, since you’ve cracked NEET, you can easily take up tutoring for the same or something similar and earn upto 20k-30k within a year and that should be enough to get an iPad!
I’ve had my good notes for a year and just now learned how to do the freehand crop. This is the best, easy to follow, attention retaining tutorial I have ever seen.
I am looking for a freeform alternative, as it constantly crashes. Goodnotes seemed so intimidating prior to this. Thank you so much for this easy-to-follow, and detailed breakdown!
This videos is very helpful, thank you!! ☺️ Also, I just wanted to mention that the circle to lasso tool, you have to lift the pen off the screen then touch it back down on the line to activate it rather than keeping it held down after circling 😅👍🏼
super clear content, goes straight to the point and doesn't lose lime on details. really appreciate the overview of the tool capabilities, I'll give it a try on free version before upgrading to Pro version. thanks for the qualitative video !
What a great video! In depth, straight to the point, while demonstrating everything in an adequate pace. I just got an iPad this Monday to to get me through my second Master's, and now after watching this video I feel so much more confident. This app is going to be a game changer. Keep up the great work! 💝💖💓
As a guy that wants to do fun creative agenda note and an online journal this video helped a lot. I’m still a newbie learning and navigating using the app
This video was just was I was looking for as a new user of Goodnotes 6 - you explained everything very clearly and I was able to follow you. THANK YOU!!! I look forward to watching your other videos ;)🤩
Hey this is a fanstastic video! Thank you for so much valuable info. I'm not sure if it's been pointed out yet, but try lifting up your apple pencil, then re holding it on the circle you just drew around an object to use the new circle to lasso feature! Works well.
You had to circle it and then lift your pen and then tap and hold on the circle again to trigger lasso tool provided that you have enabled circle to lasso under pen settings
Thanks! Just got this app today because all that i wrote in this semester in the apple notes got deleted completely with the last ios update for some reason. So I hope that doesnt happen here! But looks much better :)
Thank you so much❤ we have to use an iPad for school now and I've never used good notes or an iPad in general before. This video helped me a lot to get a little over view
A very good tutorial for me. I wanted to check it out before I purchased it. I will be using this in connection with a digital planner. Just starting both so for me this is very helpful. Thanks!
For the pen to lasso, you need to draw around the selected area, close the “circle” then lift the pen up, and finally press it on the circle line for a few seconds. It’ll chance to the lasso selection. Hard at first but easy to use after.
Dear Janice. Thank you so much for this great video. You did an absolute amazing job creating this content for us. I love listening to your calming voice during this so professional made guidance through the goodnotes app… so well done ❤ Would it be too much to ask you to for sharing the soundtrack playlist used here? Thank you very much in advance and take care ❤ Greetings from Switzerland
Thanks a lot for this video you haven no idea of how much help this was, I’m new to the iPad node taking and this video was the answer to all my doubts thanks a lot
This was a REALLY GREAT video. I do have a question regarding the notebooks. I see that a notebook will have various colors but I am unable to access them. Do you know why that is? Also Is there a difference between a "Notebook" and a "File"? If so could you please explain the difference? Thank you.
Currently trying Goodnotes 6 with a one week free trial before switching to the new version, may be this the reason why I don’t have some of the new features such as the tape, tool bar customisation and timer?
So many features but it lacks the most important one: a handwritten to digital text conversion that works. That's why I think that Nebo is the best option so far.
Good content for the beginner. I’m a beginner also I am looking for a content for make the note planner and manage my work. Could you please advise the way for note and plan for that?
I did not watch the video but made this comment. I have both in my android tablet and iPad. I hope coming updates include tagging and linking capabilities like some journal apps.
Hello, one thing I’m curious about is whether you can pretype your own handwriting so it’s pretty? I have seen it somewhere and really want to know if there is such an option in goodnotes, thanks
Great app. Cant wait to test it out. I personally will be switching from my 2015 MacBook Air to the biggest iPad Pro M4 1tb 2024. Hi Janice! Around 12:19 in the video you mention another video showing how to add planners/pages/stickers that are purchased on marketplace and how to integrate them into your documents.. I am having trouble with this particularly as I bought 2 digital planners and can't seem to locate where they are downloaded specifically to add a page from it as i please. So if perhaps you can put the link in your bio or where we can view that information! Thank you!
Hi! Any planners you've purchased on Marketplace should automatically be added to your Documents in your Goodnotes Library. Stickers should automatically be in your Elements collections as well. If you still haven't found them, go back to the listing on the Marketplace and tap "Get" to restore the download :) The other video I was referring to is mainly for planners purchased outside of Marketplace - th-cam.com/video/HVyRgPldNyw/w-d-xo.html I hope this helps!

I’m wondering if the Apple Pencil pro can be used in Goodnotes to switch the tool with a pitch, especially fit with GN’s original features.
This is a wonderful resource for someone who is new to GoodNotes so thank you very much! 😃
Thank you very much for this video. I just bought my iPad for school and I needed a video to explain how can I use GoodNotes perfectly !

For circle to lasso, you need to quickly circle the word (no need to hold) and then tap on the circle :)
Thank you for all the effort you put in this video, I have used this app since 10th month, still your video helped me 💗
My fav med school notion video I’ve ever seen.
Great video 😊 I just bought iPad mini for digitally journal

This was so helpful!! Exactly what I needed 😭💜
For the lasso tool you have to encircle the text and then tap and hold on the boundary of the circle
For the pen to lasso, you need to draw around the selected area, close the “circle” then lift the pen up, and finally press it on the circle line for a few seconds. It’ll chance to the lasso selection.
Hard at first but easy to use after.
Very helpful video, which case are you using for you iPad?
Excellent video, thanks! Lots of information without the usual useless blabla.😉 I look forward to exploring more options.

this was a great video simple and easy to follow!
Will you be coming out with a 24-25 calendar soon? Or when do you usually release the next years calendar??
Good teacher. Thank you!
9:16 all u do is draw a circle and then u need to lift the pen off the screen, when u hold the edge of the circle again it should go lasso 😊
To select using the circle, you draw a circle around the content and then click and hold the circle line for a couple of seconds
This was extremely helpful! Thank you!❤
Thanks! This is an extremely useful video
I did not watch the video but made this comment. I have both in my android tablet and iPad. I hope coming updates include tagging and linking capabilities like some journal apps.
Hey! Amazing video! what tripod, equipment, etc. are you using to film this video?
If you want to use the circle for lasso, you can just scribble around the Objekt you would want to move ant THEN the wonky circle of yours
This video is a lifesaver!!!
Thank you! Do you have to buy the Goodnotes app? Or can you use the free version?
Hello, one thing I’m curious about is whether you can pretype your own handwriting so it’s pretty? I have seen it somewhere and really want to know if there is such an option in goodnotes, thanks
This is incredible thank you so much!
Great app. Cant wait to test it out.
I personally will be switching from my 2015 MacBook Air to the biggest iPad Pro M4 1tb 2024. I actually rented the latest iPad and tired it with the logitech keyboard that I borrowed from my friend and personally I like the fact that the iPadOS got so good over the past couple of years and I'm glad that next monday I'll be getting my iPad and that I won't have to use a extra graphics tablets for doing my art stuff. However, I'll be a bit limited on the new iPad Pro since Logitech didn't release a keyboard/case combo yet and the Apple stock keyboards are garbage in my opinion-
I have a small question about this app though, since I don't have the normal ipad anymore and I can't test it on my iPhone or Android phones.
Is it possible to save the notes on a external device?
I have like a compact flash card which I encrypted and could use with a adapter on my rental iPad and also MacOS but I would like to have an option to save the goodnotes file on it. Especially some sensitive stuff like the True Crime based book and some fictional ones I'm writing and don't want to be leaked to the public if someone manages to bypass my Apple account's 3 factor authentication security.
thnk u so much
the quality of your video is #osm & visible !!
& way u explain is more #osm , explaining ecach and every icon
This was very informative!!!❤❤❤
Thank you for the useful explanation, but why don't you use translation for other languages?
this was very helpful!
Today I got my I pad which is much pretty but I really wanted to get used to it. That's why I want to find some apps that will help my notetaking experience
How the heck did you learn all of this? 😲😲😲 respect! ❤️
I've been using Goodnotes for years! Happy to see they are releasing new features often with GN6 😅
i just bought a tablet soooo nice timing yt!
should i creat a good notes account under my apple id or should i use my school email to sign up? which makes it easier to upload?
Whats is you ipad case? It looks so good
So helpful, thank you!
Thank you Janice
This was a great tutorial thank you
Any debates in the com section about GoodNotes being an absolute necessity or if Apple Freeform is enough for basic student/user ?
Which tip do you have on your Apple Pencil? It looks line a fine point marker
