    Clear and concise with capturing video and explanations. Pulled off the carburetor filter holder to clean the sticking choke and all parts, carb, cables & gaskets fell off and I had not a clue where to put them back in place until I found this video. Was up and running in less than 10 minutes. Thank You!

    I do this often at customers homes in their driveway and it’s a pain in the toosie with all those pieces but been at it 15 years so have gotten good at it but uggg all those pieces still suck. I do love Honda mowers they run well.

    excellent, best I've seen so far on reassembling the carb. Perhaps it's personal preference but I find it easier if you unbolt the governor plate, assemble the carburetor with parts, gaskets, and governor plate, mount the carburetor to the engine, then re-bolt the governor plate last.

    Super video! Help me reinstall my mower carburetor assembly after removing the two bolts behind the air filter to try to clean it up, only to have the whole thing come to pieces! I followed your video and it started first pull.

      @OpaKnows 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ghost-4230 Oh, yes. I'd rather get a pair of adjustable locking pliers and squeeze the fuel line shut somewhere (which may or may not fully work). Simply shutting the fuel line valve (which is on most *new* mowers) is so, well, simple.

    I have the GVC160 for a pressure washer. I ordered a Honda GVC 160 carburetor for it and apparently I guess I didn't get the right one (or maybe it doesn't matter) The bowl on the original one has 2 bolts attached to it and the new one has 1 bolt. Also what I noticed is the old one doesn't have an idle screw. But the new one does........Can I still install the new one ?

    • @FixDotCom
      @FixDotCom  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      All of the GCV160 carburetors we have, use one bolt to hold the bowls on. You should be okay using the one you ordered.

    • @BadRonald1
      @BadRonald1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I installed it already and it seems to be ok so far.

    • @BadRonald1
      @BadRonald1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used it actually for the first time yesterday. And it ran irregular. meaning the engine would rev up and down slightly. I also installed a new pump at the bottom and let it ran for a while to get all of the air out. But the engine wasn't performing correctly. At times it would come on strong like it should but most of the time it was running with weak pressure. I might of had to much oil in it. Would that be an intacation of how it would be running if it had to much oil . I took out out some and was still running weak.

    It should be noted that not all Honda HRX 217 carbs look like this. The first sign that mine differed was that I have 3 bolts holding the air filter housing. "No big deal; just take out the extra bolt" I thought. Well, once I got at the carb, mine has an extra linkage between the one you showed and the air filter, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it off without bending or cutting it. Off to see if I can find another video that shows how to disassemble this type of carb...

    • @kurttappe
      @kurttappe 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Followup: On the "3 bolt" model, you must take off a 4th 10mm bolt to the right of the air filter housing. This lets you slip off the other linkage. Hope this helps someone else. The next Q is how to get the bowl off if it's stuck fast even after removing the bolt...

    • @kurttappe
      @kurttappe 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bowl comes unstuck if you apply WD-40, heat, or elbow grease.

    filter on the You Tube fixing Honda carb videos? I don't get it. I put one on mine, and
    what. Big difference in performance. These Honda carbs cannot take any dirt, unlike the Briggs carbs.

    For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
    16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
    20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:14-21

    Your videos have potential in the way you present. However you leave a lot of things out. For instants you say “next you do this that or the other” but you don’t actually show how to do”this, that or the other.” For a non mechanical person such as myself, that is the critical part of these types of videos.
    P. S.- There is never quiet, pleasant music playing in the background when I’m doing one of these tedious projects.

    I am NEVER buying another piece of shit design Honda. What kind of stupid engineers designed the carburetor attachment system that is so fucking difficult to replace the gaskets? Anyone could have come up with a number of better ways to do so you're not trying to thread the bolts from the outside with a big honking piece of plastic in your way. What kind of fucked up engineers design so poorly. I wish I knew who came up with the design but then I'd end up in prison.
