How do you adjust the auto choke. My new HRX217 starts fine when hot but it takes 20-25 pulls to get it to start when cold. I am guessing a choke issue. I kinda think I am flooding it when I push the lever to start?? It is under warranty but i hate to send it off for repair. thanks,

What about the hose on the back of the airfilter housing, it looks like you forgot to reinstall that or did I miss it?

Julian Cass They also didn't tell or show how the choke reattaches or inter locks to the carburetor. If no done properly then it doesn't work.

Great video with plenty of detail and in high resolution. Much appreciated! It helped confirm that I was reassembling the mower correctly without any missing parts.

How exactly should the top of the isolator block fit in against the top of the carb? Obviously the bolts will be threaded through but I'm confused about the top of the isolator block alignment with the throttle linkage.
    Thanks!
    You have excellent videos.

Hey Mark, nice video! How do I remove the carburetor on HRM 215? After I remove two bolts, the filter cover, filter, cowl, the two screws are different from the one on 217. How do I remove the carburtor itself from here? Please help.

Good video. Different model then I have, so doesn't answer my question, but a great video for people with that exact model! :)

Need a bit on how to remove the old gaskets, when they are stuck into the parts.

Thanks! Your probably right. Sometimes the only method involves elbow grease and patience.

Like another comment my carb is a little different. There are 3 10mm fasteners. There is a second linkage rod. The part called the isolator block in this video does not exist on my model. The model is Honda Mower Model HRT2162TDA. I need a carb and a spark plug. Can you reply and provide some advice? I will purchase the items if we can get some guidance. Thank you.

Will these steps work on a Honda HRR2166VXA as well? From the looks of things, it seems to be using the same carburetor.

How do you adjust the carburetor for high altitude? I have a new HRX17 that is hard to start and the manual says to re-set the carb for usage above 5000 ft. Can you help me?
    Thanks.
    Larry

      Hi Larry,
There are several "High Altitude" jets available for this carburetor but they are not available to the general public. They must be purchased through and installed by a registered technician.

Hi, unfortunately at this time we are unable to offer technical support. I would suggest contacting the manufacture for further information. I sincerely apologize.

I have 2009 Snapper lawn mower never did rebuild or replace the carburetor do you think it is that time?

I usually recommend doing the carburetor when I do the spring tune up just to avoid any breakdowns during the mowing season. The E85 fuel tends to gum things up especially as it sits over the winter.

Getting ready to replace the carb on my Honda HRX217....this lawnmower has been a work horse for me ...I've had it for roughly 12+ years. Over the last year or so, I had a lawn service cut my grass but I'm going to start cutting it again - I needed to replace the spark plug and change the oil....cut the backyard a couple days a go and it ran fine but it was idling weird and it's clear I need a new carb. Question: is it fairly easy to secure back the gas line? Just have a concern if I don't handle this properly, I'm going to have gas spewing out. Also, when you clamped down on the fuel line before removing it with pliers, any advice on the proper way of doing this? thanks

      @FIXTechGuides  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

+Todd Bridges You only need the clamp tight enough to squeeze the hose off. You can make it tighter by you can easily damage the fuel line. You should be cautious with your line as well because if it's the original on the mower, it's probably getting brittle

+eReplacementParts.com Thanks - I actually went through it and it wasn't too bad taking off the gas hose from the carb. Question: The governor is oscillating back and forth a little ...nothing too bad and only when the blade is not engaged but I believe the governor spring needs to be replaced since it's 13+ years old and has probably has too much play in it now. I have ordered a new spring anyways but curious your thoughts. Some have suggested cleaning the jets on the carb which I've done ....my carb is brand new so I now that's not the issue.

My HRX is an older model, it has two rods on top of the carb. one throttle and one choke rod. they have hooks on the end of the rods which make the rods very difficult to dis connect with their spring linkage to make them return to a neutral position, (I'm guessing) . Also how does the isolator block fit against the carb and the engine? There is a bend in the bottom of the block. Does the bend go toward the block or to the carb?

+Pamy Sue Purple At a quick glance I can see 7 different carburetors Honda has used on this line of Mower. Please write back and let me know the Model number you have so I can get you the help you need.
