I am new to crocheting and wanted to try making roses for my hats that I crocheted. I found your pattern the easiest pattern to follow. Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Your roses are the ones I will recommend to anyone who wants to make beautiful easy roses. Keep up the excellent teachings.

I have literally watched a dozen videos on how to make this flower and even tried a few. But I must say I liked your version the best! Especially the really big flower. Which I plan to make a wall hanging with. A suggestion that I am going to try is to make the slip stitch row in another colour, maybe with a sparkle yarn. Hmm I could also add beads. Thank you for inspiring me in this project.

I am so sorry you are gone. Your family is being so kind and gracious by continuing to share your legacy on TH-cam and allowing us to learn and create beautiful things in her spirit. She was such a brave and open person- sharing her story on death and dying while also still living her best life for herself and family, and also with us. ❤️❤️ Sending much love to her family. Thank you for continuing to allow our comments to be written. We are all still processing her loss.

OMG, I love you Melanie! I've crocheting for years and I always had problems because I would only go through the top of the chain and not two strands. This has put more crochet days ahead of me! Thank you.

U always go through the 2 stitches, otherwise your foundation chain will be very loose and it won’t have the stability to work! There’s tons a pictures on the net showing where u would put your hook!

    1 x petal = 5 plus 1
    If 25 petals : 25 x 5 = 125 plus 1 chains.
Big or small use this formula.
    Thank you Melanie.

Loved this pattern- super easy instructions ! Was more time consuming than I thought it would be but looks fantastic. With the left over yarn I did some embroidery French knots in the center and also attached a bar pin on the back. Wish I could post a photo of it here cos I am really happy how it turned out. Thanks.
