You made the statement that GM is missing In what relationship is GM not included on this particular You seemed to gloss over that with no explanation. Thanks for answering back
First off, thank you for reviewing this tool since it's pretty new. I'm on the fence between this one and the newest Launch X431 Pro 3 Ace Elite. Apparently, the newest X431 is the top international unit. From what I'm reading and watching videos, the Launch units sold on eBay and Amazon are not supported in the US because the software they are running is not for the American market. This is why they are much cheaper than going through US dealers, plus the naming convention used on the US models is different. Some people have reported issues with these units not being able to perform the functions they claim to support for their particular vehicles. The only support available is China-based, which can be a nightmare. This new Xtool seems to have the same tools, but the Launch units have cool features like a toolbox library where you can download actual service manuals and step-by-step instructions for repairs. I'm not sure if the Xtool has that feature. My main question is whether Xtool runs promo deals on update packages. I believe you get three years free, then it's around $350 anytime you want to update your tool. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
I just reviews another launch product and honestly, they are not a good as the newer Xtool products. For example on launch the tool could not perform a basic key fob programming and overall it was harder to navigate. With Xtool your get the three years and afterwards you don’t need to renew as the unit keeps working but you won’t get new updates. The year will be 2027 and honestly there is a pretty good chance that you won’t be working on 2026 or 2025 vehicles. Good luck on your purchase. The only companies that match Xtool quality currently are Topdon and Autel.
@@RANDOMFIX Yah I've seen others say the same about some Launch tools having a hard time with keys. I do remember when Topdon had first come out they offered lifetime updates on the flagship scanner, but that quickly changed to a subscription based like everyone is doing now. The Autel is good, but more pricey. I have been using the Xtool A30M dongle which is great, just I want a more powerful unit. BTW I tried the Amazon link you provided, but it's out of stock. I'm leaning more towards this Xtool since I'd get an extra year of updates saving $350. Question you don't have to pay extra money to access and download that function like the Launch correct? I do know you have to purchase a separate xtool key programming hardware separately. Hopefully all the capabilities are free to use on this unit without having to pay to unlock the features. Please let me know if you have an idea when it will back in stock. Thanks again
What are the subscriptions pricing after 3 years. When will it be back in stock? Is the vehicle wiring included? Does it monitor service intervals? Does it provide component locations and specs on system things like gasoline pressure.
@@gaewing I've been waiting for it to be restocked so I can check the price. I've seen them on eBay for $1,299 or best offer, but not on Amazon. From what I understand, updates for the D9S Pro cost $358 from Xtoolglobal, but who knows what the price will be for this model in three years? I'd rather save $350, give or take, for that one extra year before upgrading. With Launch, after two years, you're spending $450 with their current yearly subscription on the top-tier Launch X431. If you're someone who always wants the latest and greatest software every year after your free updates expire, it might make more sense to just buy a new scanner every two years, since you'll essentially be spending the same amount by upgrading every year. Yes, it does come with a variety of connectors and allows you to save and track data. However, unlike the Launch, it doesn't have the feature where you can download the 'service manual' directly, which includes step-by-step instructions, specs, and component locations. I'm not sure how in-depth they get, but I really like that feature. Of course, you can always get that information from Identifix for $25 or Alldata for $19.99 a month for one vehicle, but it would be great if it were included at no extra cost. Maybe Xtool will incorporate that in the future. 🤷♂️ Please let me know if you find a good deal on this. 👍🏻 Thanks.
I have ip919 and wish it came with a kick stand, I found out that xtool started selling the newer ones with a kick stand on the back. I contacted an xtool rep on their fb page but no response on how I can get the kickstand, but they just stated that newer ones will come with the kickstand
I don't suppose you know the genuine website for this product? I can't seem to find a definitive answer online, I believe I may have received a counterfeit as the functions that should be supported aren't.
Hello, I want to purchase that tool for my hybrid vehicle repair shop. Currently, I have not seen anyone using the HV battery special function on the XTOOL IP919 series. I hope you are able to help me. Thank you.
Very interesting! I have a 2011 Chrysler town & country van. Will this scanner support transmission relearn? I had to replace the valve body and some transmission solinoids. TH-cam recommends a transmission relearn after the parts changes.
I have the same van and I used this instead and it worked th-cam.com/video/uOc2TMdEQiQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2x3TT8lJS0KSkqtJ I actually show in the video on how to do it. My transmission jerk is now gone!
I have d9s pro and sell it. Why? It was weary slow and laggy. I want to deactivate start stop on Mercedes e class 2014. It not worked.... I deactivate it with my launch scanner ( cost 360 eur). Can ip919 pro unlock SFD on vw group above 2018? Thanks
Good day mate. I'm looking to buy a used car in Europe. The problem is that most cars there have fake mileage. I don't know which car yet. If you can tell me which scanner ( which can I buy In Australia ) , can read the right mileage from the largest number of the cars. Thanks.
Sorry I just saw your comment, the best scan tool for detecting false odometer readings is this th-cam.com/video/uOc2TMdEQiQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qvG1vILCdmiLmR-0
The Ip919 pro has better hardware. D9s pro has only 4 gigs of ram and no fca but there is more than just that. Look in the official Xtool site for proper information as I don’t want to mislead you. I haven’t used the d9s pro.
Estos equipos xtool son buenísimos,un complemento perfecto para cualquier marca de scanner.Lo único qué podría reprochar,es qué para el mercado latino no soporta la marca Mahindra.
@TJsVette no turner stuff is more difficult and ecu programming allows you change the ecu and reprogram it. But remember it’s not available for every make. So you need find out if your vin is supported before you buy. Email the video, click the link in the video description and ask them this question. If you need a recommendation to something more basic just let me know.
Don’t be fooled. I purchased this because it claims it can do so much with BMW’s. Wrong-O, E46, F30, and so on can not do any of the things like coding and even scanning and the trouble shooting all fail. Tech support is a joke. Go with X431 or even Autel.
The $50 fee is autoauth not from Xtool but there are cables that can buy to avoid these fees called fca 12+8 bypass cables. You need to buy the Xtool brand bypass cables as the generic version do not work with this scan tool.
Ecu programming is supported but I’m not sure on gmc I would email them your vin ask. Maybe they have updated it, from what I remember they support Vw, bmw, but I am 100 percent certain
I’m curious to know why you’re saying that. I actually have the Xtool A30M dongle, and it’s pretty good for what it is. It has worked for early 1999 up to 2022 Ford, GM, Toyota, VW, Honda, and Subaru vehicles I have scanned. Some of its bidirectional capabilities are impressive. I'm still considering picking up this pro model, but I also have my eye on the Launch X431 Pad 5 Elite, and maybe the Pad 7 if it drops below $2,000 during Black Friday.

That's a useful diagnostic tool.
Very useful and still like all scan tools that cover so many makes it lakes a few features that some $50 softwares can do.

Thanks for the feedback, where in the video did I make this statement? Thanks
ok can it do battery registration on bmw when a new battery is installed or changed?
Yes, of course it can handle a battery registration
Thanks for the info 👍🙂

In your research have you come across a scan tool that works best with hybrid cars?
Specifically analysis on both batteries.
Thank you
sounds good!
Xtool just added the vehicle battery voltage to the top right corner with the latest update
How does the functionality of this tool differ from the D9 Pro???
The menu system is the same but it offers some additional functions. It shows the difference on the Amazon link I provide with a visual graph.

can scan 24 volts heavy trucks or 12 volts only?
I think this is only for 12 volt. You are looking for a hd scan tool. Out of curiosity what do you own that is on 24 volt?
