I use to own a 1985 SS back in the early 90’s they were sweet hot cars in those days mine survived two attempts from been stolen.
Very nostalgic memories watching this video 👍🏽
I have an 87 SS from new that also survived 2 theft attempts.
Please share your opinion of best way to prevent theft besides parking it in a indoor garage. Thanks!

One thing I can think of is have your fuel tank completely empty that save mine once.

I had one the white 85. I couldn't find a silver one or black one anywhere. I loved the way it felt, safe with a firm suspension lol.
I'm a big fan of factory gauges with a car this nice but after seeing the aftermarket ones you're putting in they look awesome.

Huge fan of this channel as I’m die hard LS fan. What surprised me was when u opened ur tool box I didn’t see so many tools like other people. Goes to show u don’t need top of the line everything when u know what hr doing 💪

This is the perfect swap for a semi-sleeper. When you meet someone at a light, they're just as likely to think you're an old timer who's just a little too proud of an old car w/o much actual power and are therefore easy prey....then they find out otherwise :-)
To be quite honest, these days this isn't much for what's out there. Still a cool ride though.
Looks like a fun car to rip around in. I always liked those years of the Monte carlo.
I love that Monte SS! My brother has a blue one. He put a jet engine in his last spring, and the chicks really dig him.

i always liked these cars. just not the anemic motors they came with. this is a perfect car thats begging for an LS swap. but,your attention to detail and cleanliness is top notch. add a PC and dominate!
I never seen anything like that. That engine will bring it up to the highest levels. That car deserves
it. What a great transmission and awesome build. You can't beat the feel on that > black Monte Carlo SS. It moves faster than a Ferrari lol
Get you some -6 or -4 braided line and go to your local HYD hose shop, I.E John Deere, etc..
Tell them you want the JIC-AN type fitting put on, and they can crimp those HYD hose ends on it, looks IDENTICAL to your steam setup...
The elbow fittings are tight also, so it should clear your P.S pump.... Straight shot.
It's what i do for fuel lines, done good every time.

Get a G-Force crossmember! The one your buddy made looks cool but the sheet metal is not designed to hold the weight and pressure of a transmission.
The G body is a beautiful car.

sweet! ! had a '79 I dropped an old 350 with TPI, dual exhaust dual stage borlas, 2.29:1 rear...was point for point as quick as late 90's Z28's.
Would love to do up one of these like you've done! I agree with everything but that steering wheel but, to each their own.

@@SuperChipperson was the "economy" malaise era of the late 70's. It originally had a 267ci Chevy V8 (4.4L) under the hood with a Rochester 2 barrel carb and single exhaust. It was very anemic! Never timed it but was probably 0-60 in 10secs! Pathetic!

That cross member should connect to the frame. Especially being a t-top car.

Great video. Good content. Those montySS,S were great cars .But they were way underpowered from the factory. S anything to make them faster is an improvement .😊
I had one just like it back in the day, except I just had a stock 350. I did put some 305 heads on it, and it did make a nice little gain in the HP on the cheap. Sadly, some old lady pulled out in front of me and totaled it. I was devastated, I loved that car.😕

nice. A had a friend in high school that had a white 84 Monte SS. I remember for the time, it was faster than most cars, it hung with all the 5.0s

Love G-Bodies especially with LS-LT swaps, nice build, car came out great, that said that steering wheel hurts my eyes and that exhaust needs an x-pipe and some mandrel bends and proper mufflers, I mean it’s not exactly a budget build so why the muffler shop exhaust. Anywho to each their own, carry on!
X pipes overrated but its the trend I guess.
Doesnt need any special on exhaust simple 2.5 inch duals are fine

I have my doubts as to the safety and strength of that transmission crossmember. Those mounts are not designed to hold a transmission.
Love it.. if it was my car, I would have tried to quiet it down a little more, to make it more of a sleeper.

I had one of those cars, thought it was awesome. In hindsight it was slow as heck prob made about 160 hp at the wheels

What car or truck did you swap your LS from 6.2 a Camaro or Escalade.made that Monte feel young again.
I have my parents 87 Monte ss I would love to do this to it for them. How much did this cost? Is it hard? Maybe I can find someone here in Az to do it for me. Not sure. Love it though

i have the same radiator. radiator was okay. The fans didn't pull enough for me. i ended up buying better fans.

I have a wild 468 13:1 comp. MIGHT do the swap with my el Camino 1980. The exhaust sounds boss from what I can tell, and I KNEW it wasn't Blowmasters' behind it ;) . Are the bullets walker made pr dynaflow?? I'm going to look into more bullets. With stainless steel packing not fiberglass this time. Thrush Reds sound KILLER behind a big block Chevy but the iso burns out of them too fast and they start to get too loud for street driving (cop callers). I have to hear the bullets when your car is running a1 :). BTW black works best on these G bodies imho. subscribed.

Your gunna want to add in some kind of flexibility to that intake bracket because that thing moves with the motor
