Stupid question but are the motor fans supposed to turn on when you turn car on or just when motor gets hot ?? I have a new Xmaxx and I’ve never seen motor fans on just ESC fans. Thank you for any replies I get.
@@kuriositykid2294 I checked, they’re plugged in completely. So either fan unit is bad or receiver isn’t supplying power I guess. Does this sound right ??? I can check receiver with multi tester and see if it has power.
@@mateo85tx Yes you can check it with a multimeter it should be supplying power to it there is also some plugs underneath the fan shroud by the motor that may be unplugged
@@kuriositykid2294 it’s ok, I figured it out. I was wondering which side (front or back of truck) the fan plugged in with relation to the red battery plug. It pugs on the forward side of the red plug, spot 4 I believe.
FYI, you can buy better fans on ebay that are 3d printed, buy fan makers, they will fit perfectly to any application, & are really nice. you just re-use the shroud. ive always wondered who buys those traxxas batteries. such a rip off, for a sub par product. i prefer spend $100 for just as good or better. i get what traxxas was trying to do with the id plug, which is end to end control, but no matter what they do, buyers will subvert that level of control, with our own choices. whether it be adapters, or soldering a better plug type, traxxas wont corner tha battery market, not while they sell a battery of mediocre quality, at beyond premium quality prices. you can buy 2x 6200Mah Hoovo batteries on amazon for $100, & get 30 minute run times, or go better & buy a set of Zeee batteries, which are of the quality to charge a premium price , but they dont. if traxxas sold their batteries at rational prices, they'd sell, but the issue is, theyre buying lipos bulk, soldering on the dumb id plugs, & having to charge a premium, to justify thew cost of "production" , but that cost was traxxas' choice, not mine. no one asked for id plugs, traxxas pushed them. they are & were a bad idea, for consumers & traxxas.

They should all spin when the car is on. They may have gotten disconnected in the receiver box

Do you have to take the motor out to install the fans?
Not necessarily but it does make it a lot easier. 😉
does the fan motor plug in between the red and grey plugs or on the other side of the red?

Should of just replaced fans with better ones. Traxxas fan blades are soft and weak
I have since done this I 3-D printed a new fan shroud and put 40 mm fans in. thank you for the suggestion.
