It really didn't make any sense to me when I was watching like seriously wtf? Isn't he the sweet guy that everybody liked in school? Some people are saying "he was mad because his dad betrayed him and he felt like lara Jean was doing the same". At no point in the movie did they say or imply that, so I don't think it's that deep, I just think the writers wanted to create some conflict and "drama" to make the movie longer lol.
honestly he made everything about him. like I understand they wanted to make their relationship with while being at the same college, but if she wants to do something that makes her happy, he should be 10000% supportive
@@ayannajackson4260 that doesn't explain why we didn't see him in the second movie which was still the same academic year. Besides he can't ever come home like Margot on the holidays.
In the books his parents are fighting a lot of the time and they eventually get a divorce, so by mid book two his parents actually sell the house. I believe he also gets into college early if I remember, but his family no longer lives there after the second book ends. We find all of this out when Josh and Lara Jean try to be friend again after they had the whole love letter thing happened ( more stuff happened between them also) But they become pretty distance once he gets a girlfriend also in the book before he moves. I hope this helps!!
@@WritingOwl have u watched the movie? ... She only wanted that because she felt insecure and didn't want to "loose him" not because she actually wanted it
What I find funny is that at the end she says they won’t break up because of the distance even tho they already broke up more than twice of lesser reasons than that.
I really like how she choose HER choice. She didn’t just do what a boy wanted her to do cough the kissing booth cough. Edit: i would like to say that this was made before the movie came out.
@@noonebossesthegarnet2890 nah. I feel like she will end up going to Berkley since she can visit Noah, have a connection with her mom, stay friends with Noah's brother, and not have enough money to go into there. Theres going to be some sort of argument probably saying what she wants to do, and they'll let her go to the other college to grow more trust with Noah. Then Marco will be at Berkley (?) which will cause a lot of drama in her relationship. They also wouldnt let her into Harvard as well since someone will look back at her essay and realize how Sh!+ty that was.
@@vianeyverde Holy shit that would be so terrible lmaooo. I mean I’m not surprised if it went that route since Elle told Marco “YoU’rE nOt ThE oNe” for absolutely no reason.
Too true, we received a few horror stories from our teachers about how college is a harsher environment than high school, and how our professors won't chase us down for our assignments, yet they're not afraid to cancel lectures for the flimisest of reasons! 😂
So basically I was in online class I started swearing at my classmates AND MY FUCKING MIC WAS ON I left the meeting and my dignity I know this has nothing to do with your comment but I just wanted to tell you
It’s funny that in Egypt the college professors are INSANELY strict and literally if you just took a breath and they didn’t liked it you’re gonna fail... multiple years 🥲
that's good to hear since I heard that in the collage I am planning on going to, if you miss 2 lectures they will make you drop the course unless you are sick with a paper signed by your doctor.
I'm just surprised that Alex didn't mention how bad of an attitude Peter had about LJ going to NYU. He's like, "you didn't love me enough because you chose to go to NYU" (which is how it sounded like). She's not choosing distance, she's choosing her future. Her future doesn't revolve around you Peter. Also, isn't Berkeley a more reputable college than NYU?
THAT'S WHAT BOTHERED MEEE like you'd want someone important to you to be happy right? and if she thinks they can do it why shouldn't he trust her? and idk about the difference in colleges because I'm not an american but as long LJ is happy ya feel
To be fair, they were talking for months about going to college together and then she changes her mind after one visit... If they never talked about planning their futures together I would be annoyed with Peter too. But LJ didn't communicate well at all during this film
Yeah but the underlying thing was Peter probs had abandonment issues from his Dad, and I think LJ moving away from him for college felt a lot like he was being left behind. This romcom actually showed some character development on both sides by the end - we stan
In the books they apply to UVA, William and Mary, and UNC, which is so much more realistic. I hate that they changed it just to make everything “grander” and “idealized” for the sake of some Netflix trope.
athletes usually get in easier due to recruitment. stanford is insanely hard to get into even with perfect stats. it’s a subjective process they probably just didn’t have room for her :/
Not to be too realistic but Lara is Asian and lot of colleges/universities turn down Asian students bc they have too many. They want other minority groups so they reach a certain level of diversity. Plus her bf is going for sports. So yeah it's dumb but realistic in a way
As much as the show later jumped the shark, I feel like "Felicity" was probably the most realistic in terms of chasing a boy to college and just how things turn out when you start filling out in your adult shoes. Those two would 100% not survive a long distance relationship and college. There is nothing wrong with the guy you date in high school not being the love of your life. You haven't done anything yet or met anyone outside of your small circle in high school.
Thoughts from someone who read the books then watched the movies: I liked TATB3, even if it’s not as good as the book (the books were great and focused a lot on the family grieving the death of the mother). I love the Asian and BIPOC representation in characters like Lara Jean and Lucas! :) the scenes in Seoul made me feel like this is the closest we can get to travelling 🤣 and the scenes in Korea overall play homage to their Korean heritage and their late mother so it was refreshing that Trina the stepmom was there and honoured that too. I find LJ’s character especially relatable as she is an introverted, shy, quirky teen that’s both smart without being a nerdy typecast. Her love for baking, books, good style and 80s movie - gives her personality. She’s also obviously gone through loss too so she has emotional wisdom. I think as a protagonist she’s got her own mind and it’s refreshing to see Asian representation/a character like LJ her play a lead. Trina the stepmom is also great and I like that she doesn’t play the stereotypical “evil” figure, but is really a great new mom figure to the girls especially after the loss. Love the female friendships and redemption of Gen. The sisterhood was heartwarming too. It’s refreshing how she doesn’t get into a university because I’m sure many students can understand rejection or when life doesn’t go according to plan. They did change the schools from the books. Netflix loves the Ivy Leagues. But I want to be clear that it’s different in the books. Also refreshing that LJ gravitates to a school that’s right for her, not out of proximity to a boy and isn’t even an Ivy League so people can stop being petty about that. As for the relationship, I get why people can be meh about it, because things weren’t always healthy (I’m a John Ambrose gal myself, but I get how LJ and Peter were written to be meant together). Was LJ and Peter’s relationship perfect? No. Was he kinda dumb/emotionally immature at one point? Oh for sure. But we have to remember this is fairly realistic... they’re young. 17 or 18 probably? they’re still figuring out what healthy relationships and communication looks like. Peter also felt threatened that LJ was going to be far away because of his own abandonment issues, that’s a valid (not an excuse but a valid backstory). LJ and Peter also broke up for very valid reasons in the previous two movies (would you stay with someone who you believed was cheating? I appreciate LJ’s self respect to leave). Peters apology and romantic gesture in the end was also super sweet, and in my eyes, redeeming. A lot of people were like why didn’t they have a conversation, but I’m sure they did. That’s why there was a montage of them hugging/dancing (where they probably exchanged words and then, as Alex would say, doing the devils tango (except in this case it’s a lot more wholesome/out of love). As someone who studied counselling and see couples and individuals in my practice, even adults have this problem (poor communication, lack of boundaries, childhood wounds that still affect their adult relationships) that I think LJ and Peter are fairly decent as fictional characters go. Flawed protagonists sure, but charming and relatable. Let’s not be so quick to judge. It’s realistic/hits home for a reason... I mean, a conflict-free couple isn’t really realistic. I think for a bunch of teens about to make a decision to go away for college is fairly realistic. To be fair, they did change a bit from the books where the book focussed on them actually doing the long distance so LDR couples can relate. And for those who haven’t read the books, I do recommend them. I read them myself years ago and even though I’m no longer a teen or considered an early young adult, I think it’s reminiscent of those adolescent days & it’s nice to support Asian American work right now. Han writes a rich world and there’s a lot more growth and dimension in the novels. Netflix doesn’t always get adaptions well (look what happened to the cartoon Winx and the live action mess that was Fate the Saga... what the heck is that if y’all change the characters) but they did alright with TATB1-3. I think because the author herself was very involved in the process of casting and writing and they wanted to respect the original work which is refreshingly good.
“But we’re not like those other couples” Ugh that’s the worst, cringiest line. Oh yeah all those other couples that love each other and do what they can to make things work that end up needing to spend some time apart just don’t have the love that you have. You guys are special! Nothing can get in the way of YOUR love. Not like those OTHER couples. They just don’t have what WE have. Please.
Lol that line kind of reminded me of ‘Not like the other girls”, I would’ve switched it to ‘But we don’t believe that’ or ‘We don’t work like that’ or ‘We disagree’ y’k?
Yesss !!!! Other couples don't centre their ENTIRE worlds on their partner. Of course you're not like other couples. If you were, you'd be with John Ambrose 🙄 other couples where boyfriends don't guilt trip you for wanting to go to a college you like for god's sake. Other couples who believe in growth and aren't about to pass out when you want to say something confrontational to their partners without losing sleep about breaking up. I'D RATHER BE OTHER COUPLES !!!! Edit. I'm simply so frustrated with their decisions that my comment doesn't even make sense, it is so grammatically wrong 🙄
Pretty much every heartache came about because of people thinking they are the exception to the rule. 'He cheated on other girls but not me. She's mean to other people but won't be mean to me. Other people our age can't handle it but we can. Other couples can't do distance but we can.'
Honestly I think she would break up with him in the 2nd movie since the whole 'peter waiting for jenna in the hot tab and not lara Jean' thing but apparently not. And they solved the whole thing so easily without even making a conversation.
so lara jean doesn't know how to tell peter that she wasn't one of the 4% of people accepted into the hardest college to get into, and she's gonna lie about it....?
Changing long plans in last minute and getting mad at the person for not being happy is what’s manipulative. He got a scholarship he cannot change schools just like that, she can, she did choose distance herself for no actual reason and he as a boyfriend in love +his father’s pre trauma has every reason the feel bad about it, he doesn’t want their relationship to end and in reality? It would in 99% of cases.
you can feel bad about a situation like that, you can be unhappy about it, but the minute you start throwing a fit and complaining that the person you love is trying to go to a school that would best suit them, “choosing distance” over you, you don’t genuinely love them. you should want what’s absolutely best for your person, whether that means 30 miles away or 30,000. and to add to it, the minute you start blaming distance for a failing relationship, when you’re not even away from each other yet, should mean the end of things. if you don’t full heartedly believe that the distance is worth it, (for someone’s future or happiness at a school) and you think they should throw their life away to follow you, or vise versa, that is the end of a good relationship. if you genuinely want that relationship to work, you will work for it and distance won’t matter because in the end, you’ll be back together, and living happily because you both had to opportunity to grow in the best situation possible for your separate personalities.

I didn't like how they changed the colleges into typical, Ivy League, private schools. You don't have to have the same colleges in every high school movie, Netflix. There are literally colleges all over the country.
It’s because those colleges are marketing to make them more desirable, but usually only the bigger and more financial advance colleges can do these sort of things

you will probably grow and learn so much more if you break up with that person that if you just stay together. it’s better in the long run because it makes you realize a lot of stuff and get to know yourself better.
I'm sorry but Lara Jean not getting into Stanford but Peter getting in (even a sports scholarship) is the most unrealistic thing these movies have ever done lol. It would be better if she had gotten in but still decided to go NYU
Lara Jean getting in would've been unrealistic too. Straight A's don't get you into Stanford. In fact, most top unis need way more than that. Peter shouldn't have gotten in

I mean. I remember not many people in my class caring about the student loans. They just didn’t see the reality of it I guess. They saw a school, and the “college experience” and decided to apply without even considering tuition. What’s worse is they go without even knowing what they want to pursue. They literally just go throw tens of thousands of dollars out the window, find out they don’t like the “experience” or whatever random degree they chose, and drop out. (I know this doesn’t happen to everyone, but as someone who also doesnt know what they want to do and attends a cheaper, though really nice, community college, I find it insane).
@@septemily It baffles me how community college isnt promoted more as an option. You can do a lot of your prerequisites, explore different electives, learn your educational preferences, and figure out if you even like college. Blows my mind how people disregard it because *MuH PrEsTiGe*. The fact is most colleges have similar quality programs, only few are exceptional in certain areas. @@Maid_of_Spiders YES. EXACTLY. I literally tell everyone I meet that is considering going to college, but doesn’t know what they want to do, Im like “COMMUNITY COLLEGE IS PERFECT FOR YOU THEN.” It’s sad how much it’s not promoted as an option, even if the community college I go to (and work at) is advertised a ton. High schools are just like “here are colleges. Strive for the best ;) “ but there’s a stigma against community colleges for some reason, that they’re inferior. In Missouri, there’s this thing called MOTR classes, basically meaning if it’s listed as MOTR it can transfer to any college in Missouri. So taking English 101 at a community college for $300 is the same exact class (in the eyes of the state) as a University for thousands.
@@septemily it actually makes me sick knowing that people do exactly what you described. I personally know 5 people who went to my high school then the same university as me and all dropped out by the end of my freshman year. I chose the university route because I’ve known what field I would like to be in since my junior year of high school, and I was offered a great scholarship and tuition lock for 4 years with admission. My school is also far enough from my home town that I’m able to live in a completely different climate but it’s about 2 and a half hours from home. That being said, I’m about to graduate in a couple months and I still wish I completed all the credits I could at a community college first. My school is a state school and the cheapest in my state at that, but universities are ridiculously expensive as it is. Though now that I think about it I would’ve been pissed to only have one semester of the university experience due to the pandemic completely changing the second half of my junior year and now all of my senior year. So I guess it kind of worked out🤷♀️
@@Maid_of_Spiders lol my boyfriend took a couple classes over the summer a couple years ago at a community college, one he was retaking and the other he was just a little behind on credits. The one he was retaking was a chemistry, and three chemistry classes taken at our university later he still says it was the best chemistry class he’s taken. And he thought the campus was way nicer than ours. Community colleges definitely seem to be underrated
I think the trope of being with your high school sweetheart/first boyfriend for the rest of your life needs to just stop. Girls need to be okay with thinking that its okay to not be with one person forever.
@@darnellnoir or you could get stuck in a bad relationship at a young age and stunt yourself by not being able to grow by yourself. Of course we have worked through a lot of it, but not everyone can and it can do a lot of damage. Even for people who do make it through, like us, it can be damaging
Going to Stanford together was something that they both MUTUALLY wanted, until she changed her mind. Since he isn't a mind reader, he continued to offer the transfer as a solution to something that he thought was a problem at the moment, until she actually told him with her MOUTH that she was no longer interested in Stanford and wanted NYU instead. What you think about his reaction to NYU is up to you but you can't blame him for the Standford situation when it was something the both a priori wanted and agreed upon( He wasn't forcing her, Lara Jane's decisions are her responsibility not his).
Technically he chose distance as well. He could have gone to a school that was closer to Lara Jean but he didn’t. He probably got accepted into other schools if he got into Stanford.
Kevin 11 is definitely a very important episode of the seires. I just wish Kevin made more appearances in the Original seires. I’m definitely glad he was a main in Alien Force and Ultimate Alien
My boyfriend followed me to college and now we’ve been together for five years and are getting married next summer. Sometimes it works if you’re willing to grow up together.
How about a splash of reality: They break up after realizing that the relationship wouldn’t work since they’d be 300 miles away and focused on homework and their grades. Laura focuses on herself whilst doing somewhat ok on grades, THE END.
Long distance relationships do work 🤦🏻♀️ maybe not in the West as "physical" closeness is everything to them. However, these would likely break-up in real life as they've broken-up in the past on the stupidest of reasons.
@@taiyabazaheer9492 I agree about Lara Jean and Peter breaking up, but tf do you mean the “West” and about how physical closeness is everything? Plenty of relationships here in the “West” work out just fine long distance thank you very much. @@Jomococo105 she probably mentioned west because that's how it's always shown in western movies. Movies are always different from reality and rarely do depict reality accurately and I'm sure she was also saying it in the context of movies no need to get emotional.

@@Jomococo105 pretty sure she said that because in every western movie thats how they present couples and the love between them so its understandable why she would say that, also don’t make false assumptions if you don’t know anything, not every marriage in the east is arranged and we certainly do have choices and can do what we want without being forced into things. have a nice day!
this would've been such a good movie if the main issue was lara jean finding her roots, that is going back to korea and liking it there so she wants to stay and continue her education there, getting to know her heritage. And how that would play out in peter and lara jean's relationship since they are both like wolrds apart. Lara jean growing up and being more mature, getting to know korean culture with new possible friends and they both decides to go the separate ways and go on their own paths on a good note. staying in the same country is not really a significant issue and this trope has been used in so many movies lol
It would have also been better if she didn’t only fall in love with NYU because of one random party and if Peter didn’t get into Stanford. If she did more then go to one party then maybe it would make more sense.
Idk I found it comforting that she wasn’t as conflicted with her race/identity and was more conflicted with her college choice. I enjoyed the normalization of an Asian character that could’ve been played by a white lead role! But I definitely agree that more Seoul shots and more time there would’ve been cool. Letting the audience see more of her background would be so interesting.
Tbh I don't even like high school as it is so her saying you only have one senior year enjoy. I already don't wanna go to school, when I hit senior year I'd be glad because I have a year until I get out of highschool
I personally loved the first movie. It wasn't like the other typical Netflix romance movies and actually had a good message. Telling someone how you feel about them instead of keeping it to yourself. The last two movies were just meh
The first one was great second was ight i guess id rather watch the second again than the third god the third one in my opp could have been jazzed up like the first 2
I can't believe how fast you eased past the "Okay Lara-Jean, I'm going to sleep now... 911 was an inside job" like I still haven't recovered from that.
One interesting thing about the movie compared to the books is that in the Book Lara Jean goes to a much less prestigious university (UNC Chapel Hill). And Peter Kavinsky goes to like their local state school. Which is... More realistic
I agree that it's much more realistic. Making a pact to go to Stanford like it's a given you'll get in is crazy. However UNC and UVA are both well-known schools and pretty selective, so they're not just any old state schools.
The book also made Peter much less of a douchebag. In the book, Peter's family was poor so he needed the scholarship to go to college. Plus, he did consider transfering to Lara's university and abandoned his scholarship but since his family could not afford it, his mom told Lara to break up with Peter so that he could get into college. In the film, Peter was just a douchebag that expected Lara to do anything for him lol.

“You chose distance.” No, she chose the university she loves, and the distance was just an unwanted consequence of it. Typical manipulative behavior, twisting the other person’s words, and using those against them. Strawman fallacy, in other words.
I think he’s just a teenager. If this was long term, repeated behavior then I’d agree 100% that’d he’s manipulative and toxic but he lashed out after being put in a difficult, emotional situation. Teenagers are a cesspool of raging hormones and poor decisions making abilities. Not exactly known for their well developed communication skills. He’s a flawed character Bc a story needs conflict. That being said, that wasn’t an okay thing to say to anyone, but I wouldn’t call this one off fuck up abusive
I just didn't appreciate how Peter treated LJ when she said she wanted to go to NYU. Like buddy, she was going to go to Berkley only to be closer to you and now that she wants to do something for herself, you don't like it? Not exactly, I think because they were so hyped about getting into Stamford together she was afraid of telling him the truth. At least she didn't tell him towards the end of the movie I guess
Not at all, she was just scared of disappointment. It's her problem not his influence at all. They had planned so much and to tell the person you love that you're not going to be with them is a lot
I kept cringing every damn time Peter just guilts her for not going with him. That just sounds soooo toxic like if you can't handle your partner going to another school. Can we just talk about how this trilogy managed to give us our first Asian female lead for a stereotypical rom-com? Say what you will about the story and the accuracy for the adaption but we can’t deny that this really changed the game, I can’t wait to see more of Lana Condor and hopfully more movies like this. This trilogy is definitely better than most rom-coms imo
the breakup was so frustrating like peter literally got mad cus she chose what she liked and wanted. And Lara didn't get mad or said anything to him for being so selfish and not caring about what she likes???
It wasn't about that but he having abandon issues with his father + Lara Lean changed all the plans after months without telling him + sorry but she cheating on him wasn't something that we should forget. I mean, she have every right to decide what university she wanted, but he also have the right to know that she changed his mind. Lara Jean listened him say how happy they would be, how excited he was, and then after months she told him that she would not do it. He felt betrayed and that the she would do the same thing that his father did to him. He made it clear that he wasn't comfortable with a long distance relationship, he had every right to break up with her if he wasn't happy. But he noticed that his personal issues were interfering in their relationship and apologized, then he become really supportive. But you have to remember that Lara Jean was the one with a bad communication, she waited a lot to told him something really important, that's why she didn't get mad. If she would have told him her decision (or not even her decision, just her doubts), they would have talked and he would have understood and supported her since beginning. So both were guilty, she for her bad communication and he for being kinda selfish and let his daddy issues affect the relationship.
i'm honestly really glad that they let Lara Jean actually go to NYU and do what SHE wants to do and not have Peter guilt trip her into staying with him and going to Stanford/Berkley
Not it's not a guilt trip... I've been in Peter shoes more than once. First because I had a dad issue similar like him. Since childhood, even if our father figure didn't left US, it still feels like it. It's called feeling of abandonment and sometimes it only grows bigger in our heart. Secondly, my ex "choose distance" and it felt like he was leaving me like my father. Like Peter I was so sad and devastated. Then I accepeted the fact that my ex needed to be happy, that everything will be alright. But no, it wasn't because. In our head the person we're with is the most important thing and we would do f*cking anything for that person... but that person, isn't here with us. We "choose" that persone while that person "choose" distance. After a year I moved in with my ex far away from my family, my friends and that's when I realized I lost myself. So no it's not manipulative it's just a different way to see things, because we are hurt. Laura and Peter are sadly not meant to be toguether because they don't have to same ideology. She has everything (the college she choose and relationship)while he has...half of it (college but no relationship- not the one he wanted anyway). Unfortunately. I think they should brake up in order for Peter to be happy as well....
@@andreebernieringenito5321 thank you! that honestly helps me understand this a little better. but a little of what i meant was that i was glad they didn’t have Peter try to convince Lara Jean to stay when she directly told him what she wanted to do.
This movie could’ve had more conflict. The entire “getting rejected and being upset then getting back together” could’ve been summed up in 30 minutes. I wanted to see LJ enjoy and deal with NYC life, yah know? Would’ve made for a more interesting plot
It actually does have so much more conflict in the books!! I would highly recommend reading them, because Netflix decided not to follow majority of the storyline when it was easy to do...
I agree!! I feel like the movie should’ve had more things about her trip to NYC or maybe her connecting more with Gen. I feel like them trying to figure out her decision for choosing her college took up majority of the movie. That time could’ve been used for more parts.
Can we lowkey stop with the John Ambrose Would Never narrative? Like it's cool if you like him over Peter and wanted LJ to be with him but stop making him into the perfect love interest that would have no relationship problems with LJ. Like y'all complain about the unrealisticness of certain elements in the movie but when you have characters being human (i.e. selfish and flawed) you don't like it. People are complicated and they grow and change and so does their relationships, so I don't know why everyone's like John Ambrose would be so unselfishly compromising if he was with her instead.
I still don't know why they changed the colleges, like keeping them the way they were from the books would've been fine. In the books they were going to go to UVA togther but lara jean didn't get accepted but she got accpeted to UNC Chapel Hill so Chris took her on a trip to go see the campus and that's when she decided she wanted to go to UNC Chapel Hill. And the distance between them was only like 3 or 4 hours in the book since they both lived in virgina and UNC Chapel Hill is right next to Virgina
hated how she had to have backup schools for peter lamesky but peter didn’t even do the same for lara jean. he was just like yup i’m going to stanford and ima force you to change your future plans all for me!!! and then made her feel guilty for “not choosing him” yet it’s not like he even tried to do the same for her
He also got in on a sports scholarship to Stanford. Yeah he was wrong about her not choosing him, but it would be hard for him to go to another school.
@@lillypotter7966 that’s true! and i wasn’t saying he should choose her over a program/school that’s good for him and i’m happy she ends up going to nyu in the end too but i just felt it was upsetting that he was upset at her for wanting to choose a better program for her than to go to berkeley to be with him
@@fullmoon-ena the way I saw it was that since his dad left him, he probably felt that she was all that he had left in his life, but yeah even if that’s the case doesn’t excuse his actions of being disappointed just because she chooses another school, like they need to realize they have their own lives and if they or whoever breaks up, that mess up their life for the other person.

Peter seemed so clingy in this movie Like heaven forbid that his girlfriend would go to a school where she is happy and away from him that would be equivalent to murder
They had plans together and he was really supportive. Think the roles reserved. The guy would lie, try to sleep with you and then choose a School far away. And then people would be like damn he is toxic as hell.
@@kp782 If the roles were reversed I'd say the same thing. Peter was pretty clingy throughout the movie. Throwing a huge gesture over her getting into Stanford and then only supporting Berkeley because she can transfer afterwards. Like I said the reason he reacted so poorly to NYU was because of his own unresolved abandonment issues, but the movie just didn't execute it well at all.

I was disappointed bc even though I didn’t rlly like the last book the storyline was kinda interesting with peters mom not wanting LJ and Peter to be together. The movie was just a disappointment
Yeah I liked that storyline. I think it would have been much better than the “Peter thought she got in when she didn’t” storyline that DIDN’T HAPPEN IN THE BOOKS!

SAME AHAHAHGAHAHHHAHAH OMG I LOVE THIS COMMENT

Peter-"you chose distance" is kind of manipulative

“This being senior year, what is on everyone’s mind is upcoming student loans... and prom” haha true.
Lara jean growing up and being more mature, getting to know korean culture with new possible friends and they both decides to go the separate ways and go on their own paths on a good note.
staying in the same country is not really a significant issue and this trope has been used in so many movies lol
Holy heck, yes. Her wanting to stay in Seoul is way more interesting and believable than her caring about a shit hole like New York.
I would love that but I think that kind of story wouldn’t be really popular because Americans only care about their own country
that's truly a brilliant idea and i honestly wish the story would continue like this
It would have also been better if she didn’t only fall in love with NYU because of one random party and if Peter didn’t get into Stanford. If she did more then go to one party then maybe it would make more sense.
Idk I found it comforting that she wasn’t as conflicted with her race/identity and was more conflicted with her college choice. I enjoyed the normalization of an Asian character that could’ve been played by a white lead role! But I definitely agree that more Seoul shots and more time there would’ve been cool. the breakup was so frustrating like peter literally got mad cus she chose what she liked and wanted.
@@stanbtsforaclearskin well said. Couldn't agree more. I think people really don't understand his side when analyzing the movie
i'm honestly really glad that they let Lara Jean actually go to NYU and do what SHE wants to do and not have Peter guilt trip her into staying with him and going to Stanford/Berkley

@@dejajade6726 He would be though? And that’s not being “perfect”, that’s just being a good partner.
@@kiera6646 That would be so unrealistic and an unhealthy standard to hold someone to but you do you I guess.
The “Welcome home” sign is the most realistic needless detail and I love it.
The actress of Lara Jean is gorgeous she looks like a doll
Yeah! She’s really pretty! 😍
She is sooo beautiful
This is the only way I'll ever watch these kinds of movie
Me too
Omg same
Amen
same
Nah fr tho I cant sit through this kind of cheesy shit lmao
Ladies and gentlemen this is the moment you've waited for
EXACTLY HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
No kidding I was truly waiting for this video lol
Yes it is lol
Yes
I want Alex Myers to do the greatest showman lol
I still don't know why they changed the colleges, like keeping them the way they were from the books would've been fine. In the books they were going to go to UVA togther but lara jean didn't get accepted but she got accpeted to UNC Chapel Hill so Chris took her on a trip to go see the campus and that's when she decided she wanted to go to UNC Chapel Hill. And the distance between them was only like 3 or 4 hours in the book since they both lived in virgina and UNC Chapel Hill is right next to Virgina
Because of the location of the film it was set in Oregon not in Virginia (the setting of the book)
hated how she had to have backup schools for peter lamesky but peter didn’t even do the same for lara jean. he was just like yup i’m going to stanford and ima force you to change your future plans all for me!!! and then made her feel guilty for “not choosing him” yet it’s not like he even tried to do the same for her
He also got in on a sports scholarship to Stanford.
@@IamtheGam3r34 ooo that’s a really good point! i kinda mentally blocked out the sad part because i kinda thought the scene was cringy but that probably really affected him a lot!
Peter seemed so clingy in this movie
Like heaven forbid that his girlfriend would go to a school where she is happy and away from him that would be equivalent to murder
Well he seems to suffer from serious abandonment issues because of his dad, but the movie didn't really execute it well.
@@bumblele2034 ikr but he was super annoying in this
@@pixelle2848 yeah agreed
They had plans together and he was really supportive. Think the roles reserved. The guy would lie, try to sleep with you and then choose a School far away. And then people would be like damn he is toxic as hell.
@@kp782 If the roles were reversed I'd say the same thing. Peter was pretty clingy throughout the movie. Throwing a huge gesture over her getting into Stanford and then only supporting Berkeley because she can transfer afterwards.
Like I said the reason he reacted so poorly to NYU was because of his own unresolved abandonment issues, but the movie just didn't execute it well at all.
noah scented mayo’s acting in this movie was NOT it
Scented Mayo I'm laughing
Noah/Norman Centimeter, Cilantro, Centipede
😂😂 Noah Scented Mayo
Noah scented Mayo 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
OMDHSHAJAJKAJDJJDJEKWKALA
PLS
A generic background? Nah, we’re gonna go for “Abs: the musical” as a background poster
anyone else notice how alex uses the same couple of names in his personal story rambles. like what did kelsey do to him???????
Kelsey is his girlfriend's name
I was wondering why you were so concerned and then I saw your username/name 🤣🤣🤣
@Annika Hubbard Has*
I was wondering if Kelsey was his highschool sweetheart and maybe they got back together later in life? That's my theory 👀
Noah's charm has ran out in the first film. At this point, he's a walking cliché. He can't even act to save his soul.
He was amazing right and the. It looks like he got like super fucking depressed this movie or something snd hes just scting like that depressed asf
@@ChristyPlayz He looked kind of sad and worried in this movie. It’s like the charm from the first movie ran out. When I watched it it felt like something was off with him.
@@katythebeauty330 same..
I feel like I’m gonna show my future kids this trilogy as a reason why they shouldn’t date in high school
Anyone notice how he changed the title from
“To All The Boys 3 is kinda dumb...” to “To All The Boys 3 is actually kinda good?”
Sure didd
But the third movie is so bad
Well he got a hate tweet in twitter and people started spamming in him comments, so I think he changed it, though this one is the worst of all three movies.
@@nimmi7526 That's ridiculous on every party.
@@Sipu97 Yes it is. It makes no sense.
he has been calling her LAURA JEAN this whole series and no one corrected him i swear to god
What do you mean corrected? What is the right way?
@@septemily it"s LARA jean not LAURA
@@neivilde.1242 I see that now after reading the other comments lol. Didn’t even notice before.
Is it an American thing or something? Because Ethan Klein kept calling Lara Croft ‘Laura’ too on the last After Dark podcast 😂
No her actual name is Laura Jean but I don't know why people call her Lara Jean?
I was disappointed bc even though I didn’t rlly like the last book the storyline was kinda interesting with peters mom not wanting LJ and Peter to be together. The movie was just a disappointment
lolol i forgot that happened oh man
SO MANY THINGS HAPPENED IN THD BOOK BUT SEVERAL THINGS GOT DROPPED SO THIS MOVIE DID SUFFER
Yeah I liked that storyline. I think it would have been much better than the “Peter thought she got in when she didn’t” storyline that DIDN’T HAPPEN IN THE BOOKS!
@@avigails8438 yeah. Thay storyline is overplayed
literally!!
Can we talk about how quick the dad got married though? Within a few weeks they organize this huge wedding with caterers and flowers and everything. That shotgun fairytale wedding was more unbelievable than Laura Jean and Peter staying together throughout college.
The little sister was easily BOTH the best and the worst character throughout these movies lol
I love her. She's just soo............ You know?
@@meganjones4301 Yea yea of course. I don’t hate her it’s just there are moments in these movies where I am like wow why she gotta be like that lol
She’s just a younger sibling, which makes her the best character because she acts like a real person towards their own siblings
Tbh in all these movies they show the siblings getting along when most siblings call names, shit talk and "fight"
@@coolsomeash yea but I mean, we love each other too right. And really like why show all that extra stuff when it isn't about siblings 😂😂 we have Little Women for that 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Americans be like "it's only one hour apart and that's like practically here" while here en Europe something is that far and FUCK NO WERE NOT GOING TO FRANCE FOR A BOY
I have to drive an hour to get groceries. 🤣
Meanwhile in Australia...
I am not European but "an hour is not that long", seriously? My aunt lives in another city, 30 minutes (maximum) away from my house and I think that's so long.
@@lizbleasdale3856 Right? I’m in Chicago, I drive an hour to my best friends house in Indiana at least twice a week. Like, you randomly got into different schools in the US and you’re only an hour away from each other!? You won. lol
When I moved to England a few people looked down on me because I had never left the US prior to picking up and moving to England. They went on and on about all the European countries they’d flown to. I’m like, I’m from Chicago and my state is physically bigger than all of England. So, you going to France is me going to Indiana.
They were super frickin obnoxious (just those few) and clearly underestimated the size of the US, the distance it would take to get from Chicago (middle of the country) to get to either coast, let alone beyond those oceans, and how pricey it is to go that far. lol
Women need to see movies of women that take charge of their life instead of moving around whatever their bfs want. I'm tired of "movie of a couple where the guy gets mad cuz she liked something he didnt and now shes gotta choose between what she loves and who she thinks she loves" 🙄 it's so annoying and some girls totally eat it up
Trust me. Women aren’t like that.
@@QuranwithRain some are

Am I the only way who hates how Noah scented mayo sounds in these movies like what in the world is that vocal fry?
PLEASE NOAH SCENTED MAYO IM DYING JDDJDJSJJA

If I’m being honest I just came from Trin’s video and saw ur comment so I scrolled through this comment section to find ur comment some serious fan behavior 😫🤚
Noah Centipede is another nickname for him
@@jlailaharris4909 Hahahahaha. Hellloooo.
Book Peter=ideal boyfriend
Movie Peter= “so hey don’t do anything for yourself and follow me around as I do something dumb with my life”
Wait, going to a school to get a successful job that will provide for the family is dumb?
But her "doing for herself" by literally doing something dumb with her life like getting a worthless degree and choosing a school over him because the school vibe is more important than the relationship?
Wow... you are another example of why most relationships fail these days.
Seems only the men are thinking about the relationship while its all about "me me me" for modern women.
