This is probably one of the coolest tech upgrades I’ve seen so far. Not only are all these upgrades sensible, but he is extremely talented in everything he has designed. Like, genuinely an impressive upgrade
I think the exact oppostite. Nothing was really practical. Everything was just "pretty" The headsetholder was just the worst I´ve ever seen

@@MemTMCR That's a subjective opinion. As someone who paints miniatures as a side hustle. I think people charge what their time is worth and how long it took to make something is generally why most sensible art is priced the way it is. I can spend a couple hours giving you a sub par paint job or I can spend 20-100 hours giving you something that is more detailed.

oh, Linus is mistaken if he thinks people wouldn't buy it. I'd also be willing to bet that showing it was a float to see if there is interest and they're gonna gauge reactions to it in the comments and release it as a limited wingding.

my herman miller embody healed all the neck, lower back and shoulder pain I had with my gaming chair
tbf tho, i spent 180 on a decent office chair which did the same thing. nobody with half a brain expects a "gaming" chair to be comfortable..
A good office chair from herman miller, haworth, or steelcase is always a better buy than gaming chairs. You can always buy used for huge discounts too.

At the 1000/1500/2000$ range you are most definitely (over) paying for the brand.
Plenty of perfectly good ergonomic chairs that cost 200/300/500$ that will perform just as good for your health
And often less expensive with how often used ones pop up if you live in a decent sized city….with their build quality it’s not hard to find/make one look brand new
I have enjoyed all of the recent tech upgrade videos. But this upgrade has a different vibe than usual and I find myself enjoying it even more.

To be honest this video is the BIGGEST Unintended (Or maybe it is) Marketing play that you ever did, to see an employee of that creativity and craftsmanship, THAT YOU KNOW TEHY WORKED ON THE PRODUCT, Just makes me want to buy one, cause I know fully that it was designed by an actual handyman.
PLUS : The big screwdriver paid off here.
The fact that LTT is working on electronics cables is very exciting! Hopefully you'll make more than just charging cables and HDMI cables, because almost no one makes good audio/headphone cables.

Not gonna lie, even with the absurd pricetag, I would preorder the wood & brass screwdriver so fast. It would fit with my other hand tools perfectly, and I love how elegant the design looks in those materials.
Yeah, I would love it because it would match with my great-great grandfather's tools . . . but someone stole those seventeen years ago, so it would look completely out-of-place with my Harbor Freight replacements.
That screwdriver needs it's own museum.

defo one of the coolest perks of manufacturing jobs is being able to work on personal projects, within reason, scrap material, no other prority work. its generally a good thing especially for those developing their skills.

21:16 As someone interested in Framework. I feel the need to point out here that most things are open source, at least to some degree. Firmware, mainboard schematics, expansion cards. If Framework doesn't commit 5 years to it, then there's a possibility of it still being supported in some form or another.
It would be amazing if LTT made different size screwdrivers that could fit inside each other like Russian dolls.

18:04 I literally have a server rack in my bedroom with a rackmount UPS that powers the server rack, plus my bedroom lamp, TV, cable modem, and router, with enough power to keep everything up and running for almost an hour during power outages! I can squeeze several hours out of it with just the lamp, TV, and internet up. And I only paid $200 for the UPS because it was used with a missing faceplate, but did come with brand new batteries (its an SUA2200RM2U)

You could maybe release the metal and inside plastic parts as a kit for people who does woodturning and let them make the wooden part. Then you can have a screwdriver that pretty without that expensive cost, but you have to do some work to turn the handle after some critical measurments so it all fits.

I did support for major electronics store back in the day. the number of people in old houses that had very weird computer problems with every machine they got that would magically stop calling after I'd suggest a UPS for their PC was very high.
I like how he is so minimalist and organized but have a fancy flower shirt.
I really love when we get to see what the Engineers design for their homes and the 5 years bit really makes me feel not so bad about how long my projects take.

I bought a Herman Miller as an investment and I can confidently say its worth it. I am a heavy guy and have been using it for about 6 years now and it is like new. The mesh seat and backing has no slack and everything is still sturdy. My last gaming chair only lasted like 2-3 years and hurt my tailbone when sitting for a long time. This chair though is comfortable and strong.
This sounds like an ad, but it is an amazing chair. Well worth the money. Even for a guy who is ~350 lb it still functions exactly how it did 6 years ago, its a very good quality chair.

Speaking of UPSes, I do have one for my computer, but I really need to switch my main monitor onto it. Because while my computer will still run for a bit, I can't properly turn it off as it is plugged in. I should also connect the USB-b cable to allow automatic shutoff.

I would be thrilled to see that big chungus of a screwdriver in massproduction for sale someday in the future. A must have ngl.
That's what is great about all the newer laptops, you can pretty much play any game out on them.. Yeah some you may have to settle for 1080P med to high settings or 720P high settings to get higher frames but on a 15" screen it's not going to matter to the average person.. I have a little 5500U that when plugged in plays AAA games in 1080 and 720P high settings and it still looks pretty damn good, as long as you have 16 gigs of dual channel Ram they perform OK, I can only imagine how much better the newer chips are... But I am still rocking a 5900X along with a 6800XT and it's still more than I need.. I can do 4K over 60 FPS at high and ultra even on most games out.. Yes some I have to play with settings but so what... Love the AM4 platform it's been the gift that keeps on giving..
