This guy seems so wholesome. And Linus for 2024. He is such an amazing person with incredible values. He's an unbelievable boss. I'd be so much comfortable in my workplace with someone like him.
To be fair, I'm farily confident Geoff is gonna be able to re-sell that maxed out EVA PC even when the hardware is literally e-waste. A full set like this is gonnna be a high value collector's item.
They've got over 100 people on staff now, probably 10 of those have had their shot, and it's lottery based. Assuming you're drawn last in the monthly lottery, you could be waiting nearly 10 years for yours
Now that he told him that Evangelion is about "mechs fighting monsters of the week", i'm pretty sure Linus will never touch it with a bargepole for the rest of his life. Sad indeed.
I know Linus says that the red is killing his vibe, but honestly I kind of like the way the small splash of Asuka red to break up the whole Shinji purple/green theme. With the cable management, it's not an overwhelming amount of red, and I think it provides a nice contrast.
Linus finding out he ended up paying for the body pillow and turning around to "repo" Geoff's stuff was gold. The body pillow has done its job multiple times over.
It'd have been perfect if he had shown Linus the hospital scene in complete silence, then launched into an explanation of Shinji's state of mind and how important the series was for anime, all with the closeup of Shinji's hand on the screen
It's been a long time since I've seen any Evangelion, but isn't the red tied in via the NERV logo and HUD inside the mechs? If that memory is right I totally get where ASUS was coming from, since the desk mat was a HUD display and they put the red on the PSU that has a literal display on it.

Completely off subject here, Linus, but could you possibly do a video about how common shader and asset stutter is becoming in PC gaming? I've noticed it myself and have seen more and more threads about it recently. Would be great to have creators start pointing it out as well.
@@blacknester That's not SSD issue, shader stutter is 100% issue of bad dx12 implementation and assets sutter when much more rare it's an issue of outdated streaming assets streaming.
TBH I would just be happy to have shader compilation happen when you first install the game, when its happening on the fly it really ruins the flow of a first play.
Would be great to get more people talking about this. It’s been a huge topic with Digital Foundry, but more people need to know about it. It’s common in all the Unreal games, and even persists in the latest UE5.1. Also exists in other titles, and is such a blight on PC gaming.

This dude knows what's GOOD!
megumin best girl
This guy seems so wholesome. And Linus for 2024. He is such an amazing person with incredible values. He's an unbelievable boss. I'd be so much comfortable in my workplace with someone like him.
To be fair, I'm farily confident Geoff is gonna be able to re-sell that maxed out EVA PC even when the hardware is literally e-waste. A full set like this is gonnna be a high value collector's item.
These intel upgrades make me wanna work for LTT😂
Same
Same (it's lmg/Linus media group fyi)
They've got over 100 people on staff now, probably 10 of those have had their shot, and it's lottery based. Assuming you're drawn last in the monthly lottery, you could be waiting nearly 10 years for yours
@@daylen577 7.5* let's not round thst far please.
To get free Linus body pillow?
There actually is a whole host of official Asus ROG eva products including monitors, key boards and headsets.
Disturbingly fun. I love these upgrade videos. Body pillow worth the fun and cringe for the video. Linus y0u got your moneys worth.
i would have spent all $5000 to force Linus to sit down and watch every piece of EVA media in one shot.
Including all the 80's Doujin stuff that got animated and the games including Girlfriend of steel I and II .
fantasitic idea bro
Fr it should've been a big ass OLED, some fancy chairs, and just a marathon.
Now that he told him that Evangelion is about "mechs fighting monsters of the week", i'm pretty sure Linus will never touch it with a bargepole for the rest of his life. Sad indeed.
@@draxrdax7321 true dude
My man rocking the Trash Taste merch
A true man of culture
👍
He`s a fan of the bois
I know Linus says that the red is killing his vibe, but honestly I kind of like the way the small splash of Asuka red to break up the whole Shinji purple/green theme. With the cable management, it's not an overwhelming amount of red, and I think it provides a nice contrast.
He is a man of culture as well. Demon slayer and Konosuba figures
EXPLOSIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9:20 was my favorite part- Linus stunned silence and then Brandon's really quiet, "For a 3080?"
Never a dull video with Intel upgrades
From Linus/Colton Dakimakura, to emergency socket surgery, to double power supplies
This one's jampacked
Geoff with the trash taste merch 👌
respect
It hits different.
Glad I wasn't the only one who caught it
Not only did he get the EVA collab PC but he also has a Trash Taste Hoodie, Geoff is a Man of Culture
I’m actually surprised I had to scroll this far to find someone calling out the drip.
One of Us! One of Us!
The body pillow, Colton's phone call, all of Linus' reactions, I was dying throughout the entire video
Linus finding out he ended up paying for the body pillow and turning around to "repo" Geoff's stuff was gold. The body pillow has done its job multiple times over.
I would describe Eva as animated mental breakdown, but he did a good job too, all without mentioning the hospital bed!
It'd have been perfect if he had shown Linus the hospital scene in complete silence, then launched into an explanation of Shinji's state of mind and how important the series was for anime, all with the closeup of Shinji's hand on the screen
-Shinji what did you do!
-I c*m on Asuka
Colton always makes me laugh, making linus pay for the linus/colton body pillow was a great choice
That call with Colton about the body pillow was the funniest thing Ive ever seen on this channel. And Ive been here since NCIX.
I would never have imagined to see a collectible figure of Megumin on Linus Tech Tips. What an honorable man of culture Geoff is
Purple for Shinji's bot, a little splash of red for Asuka's - I think it works!
A little splash from Shinji for Asuka.
I don't get the reference, but I actually like the red accent.
@@ZNotFound This is a violation and I'm reporting it 💀💀💀
@@BesWag Have you watched Evangelion? That's a reference. lol
@@ZNotFound It needs a bit of white
lol
“Yeah dude it was funny did you chuckle??” Colton’s 3 seconds from being fired
I haven’t laughed that hard at a yt video in a while lol the call when Colton asks if he chuckled killed me😂😂😂
Linus:" Your built is dumb"
Jeff : "Thanks intel"
Man of Culture
that pc build is sick! congrats Jeff!
Geoff**
this is exactly how id spend 5000 on a tech upgrade, I love Eva
that or the Gundam collab stuff
Yeah just downgrade the CPU, get the non K variant
It's been a long time since I've seen any Evangelion, but isn't the red tied in via the NERV logo and HUD inside the mechs? If that memory is right I totally get where ASUS was coming from, since the desk mat was a HUD display and they put the red on the PSU that has a literal display on it.
i will go with amd zaku edition
@@Xanthelei yeah its nerve as well as the spear that the eva 01 uses. Red still looks good too with the colors even if it isnt specifically "eva 01"
20:20 The pillow in that position makes him look like Beaker
I'm shocked they didn't think to try USB tethering the PC to a phone for the internet activation... instead they moved the whole setup lmao.
Considering it didn't detect the wifi drivers I'm hesitant USB tethering would work out of the box either
@@AvocadoBondage Wifi module varies from motherboard to motherboard, therefore drivers are different. USB tethering is a standart and does not vary between motherboards, therefore built-in driver should always work (drivers for tethering are not required since windows 7)
@@AvocadoBondage If mouse and keyboard works, tethering will work.
@@AvocadoBondage it does - win 10 had stock drivers for this
@@PPoverwhelming no...
as an eva fan i think the red just makes that setup to a whole new level
The power supply combo is actually pretty neat. The red is the logo of the base that the purple stuff leaves from. So the PSU powering the rest of it fits thematically.
no
LTT, this was the first ETU video I've enjoyed from start to end. *waves at Jeff*
Imagine, your boss asking you to show him some nge and not immediately showing him the scene with shinji standing over best waifu hospital bed
Lol
=_=
There isnt a scene like that with Rei
@@Phantom-kc9ly there's no scene like that with Misato either but you still knew exactly which scene I was talking about.
best scene ever.
3:28 this is the moment Linus realised he is finally old. it s got such 'kid telling his dad about the cool in thing that all the kids love these days' vibes.
It felt really similar to when my 12 year old niece tries to explain the characters of Genshin Impact to me.
Except that the anime is from 1995,so it's not a question of age
the fact Linus was willing to do pin repair on an LGA socket for his employee is amazing, I wont even do it for my boss XD
Linus' comment at 24:00 about how the art was going on permanently because it was a command strip and they don't actually come off easily...... that makes a *whole* lot more sense with the semi-recent realization of Linus having no idea how to use command strips lol.
EVA gear speaks to my heart. All that damm purple is amazing. I really wish another company would do Eureka Seven, those color schemes are nice too.
I heard UE4's handling of these things is what sucks but idk. Would be interested as well!
For that kind of topic you'd probably have more luck asking the Digital Foundry guys or 2kliksphilip.
Would be great to get more people talking about this. It’s been a huge topic with Digital Foundry, but more people need to know about it. It’s common in all the Unreal games, and even persists in the latest UE5.1. Also exists in other titles, and is such a blight on PC gaming.
I used my phone camera on zoom with a flexible arm,to fix my cpu bent pins. worked awesome!!
Modern problems requires modern solutions. Macgyver is proud.
This dude is by far the coolest person working for Linus. Super chill.
Goeff is now my favourite LTT member hands down. No question about it. Sweater on point!
17:03 I almost never laugh out loud but this was hilarious
I had to rewind and watch it again 😂
Another wholesome Intel tech upgrade with your boss helping you out, and get to joke and laugh during builds. Thumbs Up!
7:28 The socket pin surgery is my favorite part of the video. It is not something I would want to do on an expensive piece of equipment, but it is something I'd like to do to placate my OCD
This has been one of the best Intel extreme tech upgrades. The pillow was hilarious.
the Colton bits in this video ARE GOLDEN!!!! we must protect Geoff at all costs.
1:20 I love EVA, so I had the same facial reaction as Geoff when that happened 😹
Linus: “Thanks Intel!”
Geoff: *war crimes intensifies*
As a huge evangelion fan, I kind of like the 02 cables
