    As a vegan I really appreciate this video & I love how real & relatable you always are! I hate oatmeal too unless I add tons of maple syrup & then it’s like what’s the point? This ain’t healthy anymore
    As a registered dietitian though I wish the keto fad would just die already 😫😫 CARBS are necessary friends. Moderate carb intake (45-55% of your total kcals) is optimal. It’s just so unnecessary to deprive yourself of fruit, lentils, beans, whole grains 😢

    I do vegan keto after every breakup when I eat an entire jar of peanut butter. Works wonders.

      Yes you are so right , I went to my exercise class and one person started talking about this diet for her husband , he eats mayo.. cause it has fat..;( and another person said he lost 50 ib on bacon keto..., I am telling you .., it was time for to go home !!...

    In Sweden keto is a big thing and One of the big arguments I hear all the time to why people don’t eat vegan...”you can’t eat Keto as vegan so no can do”...sure! Thanks for putting this vid out for all those keto lovers to prove this is absolutely possibly! 💕💕💕💕💕💕

      @@SarahsVeganKitchen You should be skeptical. You're forcing your body to behave unnaturally and constantly be in starvation mode. There are many problems with the keto diet, and it's completely unnecessary for a healthy person like yourself.

    Idk I feel like keto is just no good. Not sustainable and is harsh on your liver because of the high-fat aspect of the diet. People definitely should just talk to their doctor before doing so, but I hope no young kids feel like they should do it just to lose weight fast. Not knocking on the video though I loved it!

      Jasmine Chan the saddest part is that the Doctors don’t really know much about nutrition. And Keto is very new as well, in my opinion it’s not the best thing to consult with them any of this. But yeah, I’m not a fan of Keto as well.

      I've been on keto for a year now, suggested by my doctor bc I have a slow thyroid, and I get monthly bloodwork checkups. Cant say I've experienced it being hard on my liver. My bloodwork is better than I've ever had in my life honestly and I feel amazing. Its changed my life.

      @@scandisnowgirl3696 Yes, for epilepsy, and the research was stopped because the subjects developed kidney problems. Keto may not be hard on the liver, but it puts terrible strain on the kidneys.

      I wouldn't do a vegan keto diet, I prefer a high carbs, low saturated fat vegan whole plants foods based lifestyle and I am vegan for the animals and the environment.

    a youtuber called clickfortaz did a food challenge where she ate different coloured food each day for a week so like one day was yellow, one blue etc she isnt vegan but at the end of everyday she rated the coloured food on different things like taste, availability, how she felt after a whole day of eating it and i think that itd be so cool for you to do that challenge with vegan foods

      I add an omega seed mix comprising of pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, linseeds (flaxseed) and sesame seeds with the chia seeds. It is a tablespoon of the omega seed mix and the chia seeds which I add after the oats have cooked and off the hob so the seeds are eaten raw.

    The breakfast looked interesting and sushi is always a hit, but I couldn't do keto! I can barely go 1 meal without fruit, bread and heaps of vegan chocolate! I'm THAT vegan... I eat alll the things! #noregrets!

    I was hunting for a keto vegan bread recipe about 3 years ago. Now you've found me one! I'll keep it just in case I ever do a keto diet again. But, yeah, you only enter ketosis in about 2-3 days, unless you fast for the first 12-24 hours.

      Fat is by far more satiating and for longer than carbohydrates are. You feel full on keto for much longer.

    I tried vegan keto for almost 2 months recently. I was so surprised by how full and satisfied I was after all my meals! And I was tracking everything on cronometer and was able to hit around 90% of my macros and nutrients every day without really trying. It took some getting used to and I ended up sticking to the same 5 or so recipes the whole time which got a little repetitive but it was still damn delicious and satisfying! I mean who doesn't wanna eat avocados every day haha X) I ended up falling off of it after I went on vacation but I would 100% give it a shot again!

      @@SaRAHHH1100 I did end up losing about 10 pounds in the first month but I did notice my weight started to plateau after a while. My guess was that it was water weight but I have managed to keep it off. I also did zero exercise when I did it. It's hard to say if it was ketosis that lead to the weight loss or if it was the unintentional calorie restriction. I felt so much more satisfied more quickly eating higher fat so I found myself eating less and feeling fine. I think the biggest thing I took away from trying keto was to not be afraid of fats. I physically felt better eating more avocados every day than I did when I was eating potatoes and rice every day. I know people that feel the opposite. I've started looking into macros more and I always thought that I was one of those people who's body runs better on mostly carbs. Maybe that isn't the case given how I felt on keto. I don't know if I'll go back to keto any time soon but for now I'm going to eat a more balanced diet, not high fat - low carb, not low fat - high carb. Somewhere in between and I'm going to start including exercise since I've been slacking on that.

    I honestly think you'd be very suited to start your own restaurant or cafe. You make everything from scratch and it'd be a great opportunity for you to create recipes and introduce people to homemade whole vegan foods! Possibly even invent new vegan(ized) foods. Would you ever like to have your own restaurant/cafe? I'm not keto either, but everything you made looked yummy!

    Loved that you tried this! It definitely takes 4-5 days to feel the benefits of Keto. It can be really delicious and fun, but the main downside for me was the inconvenience of it. Like how can you have a life or go out to eat??

      It really doesnt hinder me and I've been doing it almost a year now. I do cook for myself the majority of the time but if I have a special occasion or want to splurge occasionally, I just freaking do it, then get back on keto the next day. It's not the end of the world lol i just dont make a habit of it and I'm fine, which honestly you should do anyway.

    I love your videos! Been a long time viewer but first comment. I've recently decided to try and tackle my IBS, something I've had nearly my entire life, and am trying low fodmap. Wondering if you could do a vegan low fodmap video?

      Hi Victoria,
      I've no experience with low fodmap but the thing that definitely helped my IBS was L Glutamine powder. After a few months, I'd say it was 90% improved. If you feel its working for you, keep going a couple months longer just to be sure as I'd sometimes forget to take it for a few days or simply stop if I didn't have symptoms and they'd return very quickly. Once I stuck rigidly to daily doses and continued for a free weeks longer than I had been, job was a good un. Haven't needed to take any in over 2 years now and other than *very* occasional flare ups, symptoms are all but gone. It's a horrible condition. Hope this works for you too. Good luck beating it!     I tried vegan keto for a month and I felt great! I lost a lot of water weight too. But I really missed my carbs so I’m eating a normally and gained all the water weight back lol
    Still vegan and always will be !

      maryam pitnava Check our Dr. Berg. He explains the science of keto very simply. He’s not vegan, but he does have a few videos with suggestions for people eating plant based.

      There are loads of keto bread recipes online. I've even made keto naan which was fantastic. The psyllium husk is essential. And you can add yeast for flavouring too

    Coconut oil is extracted from the meat of the fruit. It contains mostly saturated fat, which is also found in large quantities in butter and red meat. Like other saturated fats, coconut oil increases LDL cholesterol, commonly known as "bad" cholesterol, which has been associated with increased risk of heart disease.

    I've just started a keto/low carb vegan diet to get a handle on my carb binging. I hope to do it for three or four weeks. I make a similar porridge to what you made and I loved it, except I use liquid stevia or monk fruit as a sweetener and I love it. But then I grew up on Cream of Wheat so that may be why! So far I don't really miss rice or bread, but I want more fruit. My only "cheat" was one fresh mango from the farmer's market.

      After a week she'd just be getting over the flu and transitioning to ketosis, so it wouldn't be a true testimony. In order to feel the real affects you need to try it for a month. Which I don't feel like she'd be up to doing 😕

    personal anecdotes about diets to not equate to factual research, just keep that in mind when considering a Keto "diet". Where I work people request heavy cream lattes and in no way is that good for your health. Balance is always key, always. There's never a quick fix.

      A heavy cream latte isnt a bad choice in keto bc for a lot of people they only really have one meal a day at dinner time. And saturated fats arent exactly the demon they've been made out to be in the past if you keep up with the current research into heart health. Same with dietary cholesterol.

    I just bought king oyster mushrooms for the first time because I saw them at Hmart and knew they were used to make a vegan version of something but I couldn’t remember what at the time. It’s vegan scallops. I’m trying the recipe tomorrow. You’re going to chop them and add to a stir fry?

    I think you should do a whole month of this. It would be helpful to all those who want to do keto without the animal products and it definitely takes a good week or two before you can feel the effects of keto and it would be really interesting to see some one as balanced as you go through these first two weeks and how they deal with the electrolyte deficiency that comes with the first week that typically leads to the "keto flu."
    I'm definitely preparing for this lol. I just recently (about 2 months ago) went Whole Food Plant Based and have been eating 5 plus servings of fruit a day and 2-5 servings of vegetables a day and am now transitioning to whole food plant based keto diet.

      Bhawy Sharma I’m not Sarah but I’ve found Raw and Vega to be great. However, apparently vegan protein powders tend to be high in heavy metals so probably use them sparingly. ☹️

      It’s totally doable. Check out Dr. Berg’s TH-cam channel. He isn’t vegan, but he goes into all the science very simply. And he does have a few videos with vegetarian and vegan suggestions.
